@constipationnow Probably because some of the parts didn't match the music. It's easier to see mistakes in dancers when you can pause and rewind than if you watch them live. They probably just wanted to make it look as good as possible.

@constipationnow No, the dancers don't decide. The only part they edited was the part where Ryan lands on his back. It was a pretty crazy move and they wanted people to see it better. Plus, he probably didn't land on the beat. They don't really use a lot of effects, but when they use stuff like fireworks, confetti, and bright lights I think the producers first see the performance, and then decide what to use special effects on. Just to enhance it I guess.
