...Changing even purportedly "small" situations in our lives like food cravings can reveal fundemental issues relating to our life-views. Even if it seems like a non-issue, the relationship people have to food is deeply imbedded in their belief system ! Changing one desirable element in your life necessitates letting go of why you feel, on some fundemental level, that the "undesirable" situation benefits you.
I have done EFT, Hypnosis, LNP (though not in relation to food cravings)- I find a combination of all three works well. They are great tools to use when facing problematic situations but, I feel, there has to be a strong underlying motivation and drive to change and a belief that it is possible to accomplish change in order for these tools to be effective.
Love tapping! It is amazing for all kinds of issues. I use it almost daily. The key seems to be learning how to come up with a very effective script. There are lots of great resources online. Google Gary Craig to find a great info to start with.
Just wanted to add that I believe CRAVINGS to be a physiological response only when that substance is still in my body. (alcoholics don't quite drinking--they quit drinking alcohol but still consume liquids) If I am 100% sugar free (and of course its insidious in the SAD) then I will not get a true physical craving (part of detox), but will have mental OBSESSIONS that are reflective of my stressor (this is as a LMHC therapist and personal experience with food addiction)
the other week i was having dizzy spells and craving salt...i had some salt with carrot and celery juice for a few days and they went away...completely gone..she's very spot on about stress. :))
I dont crave for unhealthy food, like chocolate, chips, candy, ice cream etc. I crave for healthy raw food. like sprouts fruit, dehydrated buckwheat, veggies
so your telling me that whenever you have a craving, its due to stress? you cant just have a craving for something because you your body is lacking some kind of nutrient in that kind of food? Cravings dont always happen when your stressed.
@xsliceofheavenx yeah thats true, eft for your stress instead of just for the craving itself is a good way to tone it down though i guess but its definetely not the whole picture

Very interesting. I have not used tapping or hypnosis, but I'd like to learn more about it. Thank you for posting :)

If you're craving meat, and you can count your ribs through your skin, you should probably listen to that craving.
