  • wow..... sucks that head kicks are not allowed

  • i agree with the previous comments. The Blue fighter doesn't react to the kick he just stands there, he needs to get loose and move his feet. So when the other fighter advances he should slide out or in. Slide out on an angle and counter kick or slide in with (block and punch to shield) then counter.

  • just give him a hard one on his leg by "accident" again and that will finish it.

  • the pumsei pattern competition is next week even though it's different from this one i'm scared T_T

  • erm have longer pants. Fighting stance be more relaxed- slightly bend your knees and bounce on the balls of your feet. when the red guy comes, just move forward into a clinch. You are shorter, so you can kick in short distances like clinches, unlike the tall person. fake more.

  • From what i see... The Red keep pushing the blue... Kyongo suppose to give to the Red not the Blue... As for the Gamjeom give to the blue... Due to the blue attacking the red after Kal-yeo was given... All i can say... something wrong with the referee... He did not apply fair to the match... and why the match stop on round 2...? maybe he is from the red contestant club...

  • Okay. I am a national class 2 referee. What is wrong is the half point deduction known as a KYONGO or warning is because he lifted his knee to avoid a valid attack. The one point deduction the GAMJEOM is because he he is trying to fall the opponent by pushing the back. He should improve by kicking higher and not open up to the opponent strong side. He is also slow in reacting to attacks. Need more practice. no offence though.

  • I don't know about you but what i only see is the red kicks faster than the blue and so there are many leg crush... You don't see leg crushes before mah? O.o and the blue boy is pushing the red back??? is it your eye playing tricks of you after hours of replaying the portion?

another thing is please no need tell me you are whichever class referee because I don't give a damn.

    PEACE.

  • i cnt tell whr the mistake is....haha

  • are u posting this video to help the blue boi?

  • The blue boy is from my club

  • thx for upload

  • In my opinion, he should realx his bodymore, he s too stiff already..be more natural man..haha..Move more then when you actually kick the opponent it will not be so obvious and he will have less tim to react. THe kick will also be faster..this coming from a black belter but i have not done this in a loooong time..haha..

  • Thanks for the comment! do visit the my other video too! ^__^

  • I'm not a master, but i think that the blue boy should kick his kick higher, and at the open side more...the kicks keep clashing and the referee is not on your side...

  • indeed you are right. we will work on the kicks.

Thank you for your comment! ^__^

  • i think he didn't use enough kicking power, and didn't guard well. But his reaction is good! :)

  • i maybe will be at this tournament next year.... poombelt one.... this video the referee is buyous on the fighter wearing red padding..... sometime like that, i fought in that tournament too, the referee oso very buyous, but in the end i still won.......

  • good for you! :D

  • 1st warning could be due Blue always kicking below belt, the 1st 1/2 point deduction - i dunno, 1st 1pt deduction is due to continued attacking, delibrate, after referee kalyeo (stop fight)..... but why referee stop the match to declare winner? i dunno.... the rule book says (7 points difference to declare winner, unless changes in 2008 for junior champ)

  • I agree, but then again I think the referee shouldn't stop the game in the middle of their exchange.. The blue was just about to have his opportunity of scoring the red back. :(

But thank you very much for your comment! ^^

  • hey prima! haha.. u seriously think blue can score back? i think the referee stopped cause blue one CMI.. aiyah.. child match never talk about honour and stuff like that. its just scoring. prima. u also black belt alr rite? go for referee course and u'll know how to tell the differences. =)

  • You don't think when you judge, you see when judging. Referee job is to see what's right and wrong, not to see who is in winning side. my comment is the boy has the opportunity of scoring, not the boy can score back, so what is the meaning of fair judgment? why do I need to go for referee course? can't a person know the rules without attending the course?

  • I believe you have the reason to be a good referee. At the same time, I believe I have the reason to be a good Player.

Thank you very much for your comment.

    Peace.

  • hey dude.. relax.. i wasnt talking to you with the i-am-a-referee tone.. just plain discussing..

who knows whether the boy can fight or not? maybe there are other reasons that we as outsiders dont know?

plus, i was just suggesting that you attend the course to gain more knowledge,, nevermind if you dont, but you dont have to sound so offended..

  • I'm deeply sorry if I scared you, This is what I am if I sees injustice in every aspect.. not only in Taekwondo. Please forgive me if I offended you in any way. Anyway it is really nice of you to add me in facebook! ^__^ It's a pleasure to make friend with you and justicecloud.

    Regards,

    Jiexiong

  • Cool

  • what the fuck is the referee is doing, i fucking dont understand someone bother to explain !?!?!?!?

  • we r having 2009 all style martial art on 30 of nov 09. If want to watch. look into my profile as i cant post everything here..

  • when leg clash together just hang on and kick the red boy if u see he stop. ;D and dun stop after one kick =D

  • Blue was too passive.

  • this is at yishun stadium right?can anyone tell me what are the rules for this competition?please (:

  • wow omg u guys will be at pesta sukan?dam cool!!wad weight category?i will see u guys there=D

  • sorry, feet crack not fighting T_T...

  • Then regarding the Gam-jeom at 2.47, I guess is that the Blue launched a kick after the declaration of Kalyeo (Break match) by the Referee at 2.44. Attacking after Kalyeo = Gam-jeom (1 point deduction)

  • Yes and again, that is also what I thought of too. But why stop match so sudden and in the middle of the fight? If i'm a referee, can I immediately break a match suddenly in the middle of a fight and give a Gam-Jeom to slow response from the fighter??? hmmm.... slow response from referee expect fast response from fighter...

  • The reason why the Referee stopped the match is because the Red guy was staggering. So in order to prevent further injury, he stopped the match. Unfortunately for the Blue, he launched a kick at the Red, which warrants a Gam-Jeom.

  • nice catch ;)

  • Regarding the Kyong-go at 2.30, My only guess is due to the knee-attack at 2.26. Maybe a delayed Kyong-go.

  • Yes totally agree, that is also one of my guesses too. lucky it's only a children tournament, comparing to other world tournament people may start throwing chair due to slow response from the referee.

  • not supposed to kick back and i think he kicked the red guy's groin

  • Can show me the timeline for kicking the groin? Thanks!

  • Young Referees now a days zz ...

  • anyway just for more information bend down in a match is a foul but sometime it depend of the ref to judge it

  • No one is following up my comment :(

I asking Timeline for turning his back to his opponent...

  • ya turning your back to the opponent is foul .. sorry no offence but if you have join tournament how come you don't seem to know the rules..and some smarts one will use a smart way to turn the back on the opponent and not getting a foul ..

I think you be able to find the rules at stf website or wtf .. anyway which club u from?

  • again handpool, I'm asking for the TimeLine where he turning his back and not saying whether turning the back is foul or not... you dun understand what I written?

  • sorry ... I read wrongly .. anyway the turning back I was refering to the hong

  • you sure bending down slighty is a foul? can you link any taekwondo website to confirm?

    Thanks..

  • wow ... ok at 1st I didn't know that was the bending because I got the bending down from scrolling down and reading so sorry ..but I feel that the bending are not foul at all ..but u know diff ppl judge thing differently andthe foul might be a few below belts kick and some knee jab if u watch again

  • primagiedi how long have you been in this sports and have you join any tournaments before anyway just asking

and for my comment is for the 1/2 point is feel that is because of some below belts kicks and a knee jab (due to they are too close and yet want to kick) and for the one point I think is the kick to the back but "if I am the ref I will also foul hong as he back faced"and for the end of match it might be due to the players give up I dunno I was not there so hope my comments helps :D

  • oh, I only training for five years. For your information I only got 1 silver and 2 bronze all in senior black tournament STF.. what about you?

  • wow .. same here about 5 yr too .. I join the Pa, national, and that spex21 tournament but lost in the first match so I am a pretty lousy player and I am not a black yet due to I forgotten all my pattern .. that 2yr of army cost :P

  • nope, you are not a lousy player. perhaps it isn't your time yet. Maybe one day we can met and train together.. I'm 26 already, quite old but still thinking whether to going for this coming national.. :(

  • I am 21 .. anyway I'm not going for the tournament for the upcoming years ..I kena of lost the feel in the ring ..

  • as a fellow singaporean as well as a tkd exponent, i felt that i should reinforce JordanGlobalFA point. it's true that the referee was bias towards the guy in blue, however, he made a few sub conscious mistakes as seen in the video, well i'm not sure due to fatigue or some other reason. during the duration of it, you could very well see him turning his back to his opponent, which would already warrant a kyongo. i think he was penalised after the ref decided it was enough since he had bent down?

  • Sorry I have been busy working and have not able to reply your comment, here are some of the things that I felt that I should share:

Time Line 00:19: both player leg crush. The referee stop time and only showing concern to the red player. Even if he is sure that the blue kid is not injure, he should at least ask if blue is alright.

  • Time Line 03:40: The blue kid bend down his head, only when the red player is moving away and the distance is two mat away. the blue kid head is benting slightly not enough reason to receive 1 kyong-go. By the way, is bending the head not allow? Is there any rule saying that you will get foul by just bending the head?

  • Time Line 02:43: the red kid is caught off guard, the blue kid is taking this chance to score back the point. But the referee quickly

stops match suddenly without reason. given one gam-jeon to the blue kid.

  • 02.56 the coach in the red team is spraying

without the referee approver. The red player

should cross his fingers to ask permission

for injury time. 1 kyong-go should be deducted for that.

  • Time Line 03:15: The referee stops match showing a warning signal to the blue kid and slightly stroke his hands before stopping the match, is that a kyong-go? for your info the total foul the blue kid receive is 1 1/2 point only.

  • Could you please provide me the Time Line for turning his back to his opponent? Cos for what I know is by that turning his back the referee should also be consider whether the player is running away from the opponent.

    Thanks for your Comment. :)

  • ref gave 2 consecutive kyong-go or 1 gam-jeon command gets 1 demerit point. i think the blue guy is fault under gam-jeon as i notice he punch the opponent unnecessarily.

  • Thanks for the comment.

For your info, punching is allow unless punching to the head. There is no such thing as getting foul for unnecessarily punch. The referee ends the game after giving 1 kyong-go and 1 gam-jeon, which is 1 1/2 point in total.

  • I believe that itw asant a warning from the refree,Maybe just a talk. well, tahts what I believe. and for the kiongo which is the 1/2 poitn deduct,It might be him bending down without telling the refree might have cause something to happen as the match was not stopped.anything could have happen, for example a kick to the head or otehr wise? and the refree is kinda new,for that tournament lots of newly promoetd refrees refreed.thus, without much experience. This mgiht br the cause.

  • Yes, it may be the case.. Thanks for the comment.

  • Dude, if we can't even comment that in youtube... we are really a small fry liao...

  • i think the referee is biased.Maybe the referee cock-eye.

  • Yupz i agree... he shldnt have end it during 2nd round... match shld end if there is 3 or more pts deducted.. of the boy in red has superiority of then boy in blue... hmmz... interesting... abt the foul.. i think it might be becos the boy keep hitting his opponent's back.. :) btw i notice the opponent's coach is not a blackbelt.. sheesh..

  • Thanks for the comment!

I'm not sure whether the coach is Black Belt or not. Under the Singapore Taekwondo Federation rules, the Coach must have the taekwondo coaching certification or NCAP technical certification in order to be eligible for the "Tournament Coaching Pass"

Also, you must be at least a Black Belt 1st Dan in order to attend the coaching course.

The matter is needed to be taken seriously if the lady is not a qualified coach before the 34rd Pesta Sukan National Tournament 2007.

  • Ya... if i din recongnise wrongly.. she is stella lim from Sports Team Taekwondo.. she is still competing as a brown belt during recent NTU open earlier this mth as a brown belt..

  • Another issue is the referee, I didn't like the way the he give 1/2 point foul on 02.30. he didn't give reason to the kid why he foul him.

Throughout the match, the referee seem to be more concern to the red kid. During the first round both players got leg crush but the referee only ask the red kid whether is he alright, but the referee didn't even take a second look at the blue kid.

The Parents of the Blue Kid must be very disappointed of the whole event.

    Anyway, Thanks for the Information.

  • how u know her?

  • oh.. she quite high profile and a strong player... see her b4 in quite a few tourny.. aiyo.. anyway.. i dun think this is pesta sukan.. its PA STF tournament.. cos Pesta Sukan did issue coach passes.. where PA-STF din issue and quite a no. of non blackbelts went down to coach...

  • Actually, this event is held around 11th to 13th August 2007 at Yishun Sports Hall.

It is the Pesta Sukan National Tournament 2007.

  • Its 4 points deduction now, not 3; that ends the match by penalties

  • What you mean by 4 point or 3 point deduction? I only sees 1 and 1/2 points deduction... and why ends by penalties? is

it because of a small finger stroke from the referee counted as a Kyong Go too? Wow i didn't noticed that...thks.. erm why?

Thank you very much for your comment. :)

  • Nono... what I meant by the 4 points deduction just now was my reply to MiTT: "match shld end if there is 3 or more pts deducted". Win by opponent's penalties (which is very rare) will come true only after 4 points deduction in total. Yes, in that video, only a 0.5 and 1 point deduction. Regarding why the Referee stopped the match, I think it is maybe because the Referee feel that the Blue guy cannot take it anymore? I am not too sure about that.

  • i'd give the red kyongo as he push n kick. plus, the 'small talk' given for blue during start of 2nd round might be due to late entrance to arena. kyongo for blue for wither knee butt or suddenly stop. gamjeom for kicking a fallen opponent. (but arguable as hong is not really fallen, just staggering..) yep. thats all i want to say.

  • huh? are you justiceCloud?

  • Nono, hipluvstar is my friend. Hahax. JusticeCloud is me. Lolz

  • Haha ok, but what hipluvstar said is true. staggering doesn't mean anything, fight can still carry on.(Cos that's where fighters got chance to score back) unless you fall and butt touches the ground, fights cannot be stop as you wish.

    Thanks for your comment! ^^

  • Hahx yeah. Glad to be of help :) Can get some inspiration and "warm-up" for upcoming Pesta Sukan. Hahx

  • Good Luck for your Upcoming Tournament! Too Bad My feet crack while running :(

Man! I really miss those days...

  • Lolz... not competing la... just go there hahax. Hey take care of your feet man. Get well soon! ^^

  • Haha many thks!

  • lol..we are frens.. lol.. hmm..hope no more bloopers this season... LOL

  • Yeah, I hope so too. :)

  • My only guess would be that it appears his kicks were too low. Many of his kicks were hitting the other kid's legs, part of this seems due to bad timing.

  • Ya, I had to agree with you. But isn't it weird when the referee suddenly ended the match in second round? The kid in blue foul only 1 1/2 points.

    Anyway, Thanks for the Comment!

  • It does seem weird that the referee stopped the match during the 2nd round, did the boy in blue request for it? If he did not, i wonder why his coach wasn't alert enough to reverse the referee's decision immediately? I agree with MiTT that the boy in red is definitely more superior than his opponent & the boy in red is very likely to win even if all 3 rounds are fought. As to the opponent's coach, i think it's not for ppl like us to comment, we are just small fry. What matters is substance..

  • Yes, we all agree that the red is indeed superior than the blue kid. My intendion for uploading this video is not to see who is better rather, puzzled by the decision given by the referee. We who loves Taekwondo respect the game but even if we lost the game we had to admit defeat for reasons, if not then no matter how hard we train it will gone to waste.

  • This is the reason why we upload the video, we just wanna to know the reason on the decision given by the referee and so to improve ourselves better.

Thank you very much for your comment.

  • And one more thing, please do not call ourselves as small fry. I respect everyone because I firmly believe that as long as anyone who puts in the heart of his/her objective regardless of anything, will eventually success in their life. Who knows you may one day be a new rising Taekwondo legend in Singapore.

Thank you again for your comment.
