Definition of heaven in wiki is said that it means a spiritual place as well as referred to sky and the expanse of universe. Clearly in this context Allah referred to heaven to sky and plannets above earth were all joined together and then was seperated which is known as big bang. This clearly relates to Big Bang. Also Quran said Universe was in a gasous state before the Big Bang.

bah if the Quran had given some specific formulas I would convert in a heartbeat. Even if they didn't have specific formulas I would want the verses to be about scintefic theory w/out theology. If Jesus or Mohammed or whoever had said "Energy and matter are basically the same thing." Or "Space and time are what keep us on the ground." i would convert.
At least you got the science right. That in and of itself makes you better then 95% of the Christians that try to convert me. ;)

Yes, it does appear that an Arab from about 780 is credited for inventing Algebra. But his work was based upon other previous inventions made way before Islam was invented.
But, all this has nothing to do with so-called science in the Qur'an. There are no scientific miracles in the Qur'an.

Hey, as a relgious person myself and scientist I watched this video a bit confused. Eintein's theory of special relativity- Quran states differences in day lengths....so if in terms of relativity- does that mean we're moving away from paradise? Because obviously we have to be in different inertial frames for "relativity" effects. I'm not sure but the theory of relativity requires set postulates to works and is a paradox so you can argue time is the same for both non relative frames.

evolution isn't progressive like many believe. Whatever is fit for survival survives. More than half of the earth's biomass in in prokaryotes. I know that evolutionary ideas stem back to the greek days, even before darwin lamarck had some theories about evolution but were disproven.
Again increasing information in the genome is not what evolution's about.

I've said it before, and I say it again: Time relativity as a proven theory IS NOT PRECEIVED TIME RELATIVITY AS IS MENTIONED IN THE QURAN!!!! Geeez! In order for time to move slow enough compared to time on earth, so that one day is like a 1000 days on earth, one would have to move almost at the speed of light AWAY from earth ... which is virtually impossible for anything with more mass than a foton. Unless Allah is a foton you have been disproven.

The "heavens and the earth" has several meanings. Heavens in arabic is "samaat" which means: heaven, universe (and maybe more meanings). It is nothing else than the bigbang. Or else, tell me what the verse says.
And yes im trying to proof the quran with physics. There is more physics in it. Much more. But the point is that you want "direct proof". Try to understand my brother, God doesnt write like a man. If it was directly mentioned instead of signs, it would be a book of man!

FahadKhan: The earth is a part of the universe, therefore the earth and the universe is "still one", if you tore them apart the earth would cease to exists. I understand that the text can be read in different ways, to me it seems very ambiguous. What I read from it is that "the creator" made an atmosphere, by separating the sky/heaven/universe from the earth, where life in turn could be made from water.

You still havent understood it. I told you, heavens means universe, layers and heaven itself. And heavens and the earth is an expression in the Quran which means universe (and maybe also other meanings). So here it referes to universe and nothing else. Whyd ont you read the Quran. You need to understand some expressions in the Quran. Its a book of signs and not science.
