@bill23138 Yes it is mostly water weight. Most boxers don't have the same weight as the weight class they are in. Sometimes a fighter who usually weighs 160-165 lbs has to go down to 147 lbs to fight a Welterweight division. If a fighter sweats off too much weight before a fight, even if he gains the weight back, He could well end up feeling drained coming in to the fight. the good fighters only usually gain no more than 7-8 pounds overnight.
