Well,they did the track together,but the beat was done by Madlib,Dilla was the mc on this track,so the offical was not sampled by Dilla! Dont tell me jay's verses were sampled from this,it was the beat that was sampled,by Madlib

well it all depends on how you look at how much collaboration you think may have gone down. For Champion Sound Dilla did half the production, with 'lib doing half the vocals, and then reversed it with 'lib doing half the production and Dilla on half the vocals. The Offical was 1 of the tracks that fell into the latter category I agree, but seeing as Dilla had sampled this track twice b4, & 'lib pretty much recorded vocals over many Dilla instrumentals J Rocc sent him, think Jay influenced him

true, but I think it's very possible Jay told lib about this track (he'd used it half a decade before for SV). Why would I tell u Jay's verses were sampled from this? Do u hera any rapping on this track? lol And the beat wasn't sampled the melodies at the beginning were. Both tracks had reworked percussion instruments. The samples were for the melodies only - bassline for Fall in Love, & the bugle sample for The Official.
