Let the people of each state vote on what they want -- Freedom of choice. If a state's population votes to legalize all drugs, then so be it but the Feds should not have any veto power, or power to override a state's vote.

I smoked pot for 45 years. I got in one single car wreck. I was DRUNK. I have never, in over 45 years, got in a car wreck because I was stoned on pot! I'm not saying people do get in car wrecks stoned, but there are thousands of more wrecks caused by alcohol intoxication, than being on pot.

There's no evidence that deaths from impaired driving would increase if marijuana were legalized. First, studies show that marijuana is less impairing on driving than alcohol by a substantial margin. And second, the pool of alcohol and marijuana users are not mutually exclusive. Those prone to driving impaired will already drive impaired, and that pool will still supply the bulk of impaired drivers, whether high or drunk. Personally, I'll take high, as the related deaths are insignificant.

When you smoke weed, you know drug dealers fueled with profit incentive.Firstly they often add harmful chemicals to make it greener and such which would not be a problem if legal and regulated.Secondly, this is the only way it leads to harder drugs coz dealers pressure and convince consumers into buying more and more.If legal the number of drugdealers around would plummet and interactions with them too,leading to less use of actual harmful drugs.Only a gateway cause of how the system is set up.

And the government(s) can have a role, just not in criminalizing it. But Baldwin got his facts wrong (this is telling: "I don't care what anyone says..." and repeats an old myth). cannabis is only a gateway drug because its illegal, and people are in contact with dealers who sometimes have other drugs to offer. Legalizing it would run dealers' business into the ground as people would go elsewhere to buy it. In fact since cannabis has been basically decriminalized in amsterdam/holland, there has been a decrease in hard drug use.

There's no evidence that deaths from impaired driving would increase if marijuana were legalized. First, studies show that marijuana is less impairing on driving than alcohol by a substantial margin. And second, the pool of alcohol and marijuana users are not mutually exclusive. Those prone to driving impaired will already drive impaired, and that pool will still supply the bulk of impaired drivers, whether high or drunk. Personally, I'll take high, as the related deaths are insignificant.
