why on earth is the aviva stadium so smal!!!l.....surely 50,000 is far too small for irelands international stadium for football and rugby?
forgive me if im wrong but what was the point in building this new stadium if you have croke park already that is over 80,000!......it seems like a gigantic waste of money that cud have atleast partially bin used 2 help ireland start getting itself out of the economic mess it is in!
It's because of the snobby D4 heads living in the havelock square and on bath avenue the north stand is small! They whinged that thier sun would be blocked by the stadium and the retail would fall! They ruined a world class stadium and the simple fact that the stadium was built and in use before the houses and the people living in them existed makes it even worse! If that stadium was built in a working class area it would be much bigger and some houses would be knocked down so it would be built!
It looks a fantastic stadium but it's such a shame it has only a 50K capacity which is far too low for international football & rugby. It will be interesting to see whether Croke Park takes on the bigger games such as crucial World Cup Qualifiers & Grand Slam showdowns.
The IRFU need to cut the apron strings and stop babysitting the FAI.Those clowns cannot even pay their share. They cant even fill Thomond for a friendly.I can't help but suspect that FAI mediocrity has a hand in this joke of a stadium.Rugby attendances over the last 10 years speak for themselves. The IRFU should have taken it to the next level.Personally I'd rather watch the 6N in Croker if I can get the ticket, than having no chance of one and having to look at that pathetic North stand on TV
great stadium but i think when they were building it they should have done it right.croker sold 60000-70000 tickets for soccer and normally sold out in the six nations,50000 is NOT enough and the north stand is shite!!class stadium and then to see that is a disgrace compared to the rest of the stadium
The RFU must be doing their nut, they can easily sell out 80,000 seats at Croker yet now they're expected to play in a 50,000 seater! It doesnt make any sense
And that North stand is ridiculous, can you imagine Ireland being 2-1 down during a crucial qualifier and they've to face that for inspiration!
Its a stunning stadium but its a wasted opportunity, its a pity
I was working there until the handover and it was hella tough to finish that sucker :D

Hopefully in the future they'll be able to extend the north stand.

the ressidents have ruined a potentally world class stadium with that tiny north stand. It looks incomplete and reduced the capacity by about 12 000.
