I'm ok with helping our allies when they need it, and even with stopping dictators if they seem to be a threat, I think Bush did the right thing going into Iraq because he heard Saddam going against the treaty we signed after the first gulf war, but I think we've got it taken care of at this point.

@composerdoh 3 things: 1. profiling for terrorists not really an issue when McVeigh did his despicable act; 2. was not a 10+ year history of attacks (domestic and international) from bunches of guys all looking like McVeigh as have been, and continue to be, with Arabs; 3. its more of a Muslim problem and not necessarily Arabs. as much as folks pretend to be afraid of the McVeighs of the world, I'm more concerned with the Muhamad Attah's as they have proven themselves infinitely more dangerous.

Trouble is, not all terrorists are Muslim. Hell, there are Japanese terrorists, and one of the largest Muslim populations in the world is Indonesia.
The point is- legalize racial profiling on Friday, and by Monday morning Al-Quaida will have figured out a way to recruit white guys... or Asian, or something else. It's not a stop-gap.
