  • You're strong, tough, and terrific?

  • How did the argument about this and The Thief and the Cobbler come about? Were they worked on by the same people or something?

  • 1;43-1;46 LOOOOL my bad

  • 1;43-1;46 LOOOOL

  • 1;23-1;46 LOOOOL

  • andy's voice does sound kinda hot

  • I love Andy's voice actor! <3

  • that doll just FREAKED THE FUCKOUT!!!

  • I find no problem jerking off to this

  • His voice is hot....

  • @JoJobabylove12 LOL!persinely i think raggedy ann is in love wit raggedy andy lol

  • I just saw that whole movie today, and now I'm in love with this song! <3

  • this show is creepy as fuck

  • 2:32 Donald O'Conner, eat your heart out.

  • A independent man's doll! Now that's a rare breed.

  • I love Raggedy Ann and Andy

  • Dude, I can imagine an argument between Andy and Ken about which one is a girl's toy XD

  • Ragdoll Parkor!!

  • he just did the splits at 1:38 - 1:42

  • i had a raggedy ann and andy dolls when i was little girl and andy was my fav toy out of all my toys

  • I used to love my Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls as a little kid. Andy's not having it!

  • raggedy andy is WAY deep in the closet

  • @mburke000 dude he isnt gay he is a bad ass wanting to get away from all the girly shit and go to something epic and badass

  • Thumbs up if ALL musical numbers in this movie are better than the ones in the Thief and the Cobbler

  • @DELIVEREE I think pretty much every song in any musical ever is better than the ones in the Thief and the Cobbler.

  • @XxToKyOmEwxX Tack CAN'T sing, but Andy sure CAN.

  • @XxToKyOmEwxX I knew that someone would say this, XxToKyOmEwxX.

And could you please explain some good reasons why the songs in this Raggedy Ann movie are better for me?

  • @DELIVEREE The genius behind Sesame Street was in this. The issues are not that the songs suck, there are just far too many. Unlike Thief and the Cobbler (And yes, I love the ReCobbled Cut), this movie's songs are really quite original and creative. Because it's freaking Joe Raposo.

The other one? It's the epitome of uncreative, generic, and just plain *boring*. Nothing noteworthy there, it's just uninspired. The songs for this one are sometimes as trippy as the movie itself. In a good way.

  • @XxToKyOmEwxX Do the Raggedy Ann cast sing more in tune than the Cobbler one? As like the Cobbler CAN'T sing compared to the Raggedy Ann cast?

  • @DELIVEREE Yes, they do sing better because it suits the character. Raggedy Anne isn't an opera singer, she's a doll, and a children's doll at that. It was part of the characterization, and in that it works and works well. Andy's voice rocks too.

This mechanic doesn't work as well for Thief, because Yum Yum was essentially a stereotypical, beautiful princess, and her portrayal in the film didn't fit her singing voice or abilities.

Tack's voice was really really annoying to me.

  • @DELIVEREE And the issue most people have with Thief and the Cobbler's music scores is that they are terribly written. Anyone could write a song that soulless.

  • @XxToKyOmEwxX OK, that's all I need to know.

So, Raggedy Ann has what Thief does not: (not counting how many there are)

    Original and memorable musical numbers

    The singing suiting the characters

More exciting environments during the songs

    AND...

The fact that Raggedy Ann was INTENDED to be a musical by Richard Williams, not Thief.

I'm glad we had this talk, but I'm through. Thank you. That is all,

    THE END.

  • @XxToKyOmEwxX Far too many songs in a musical? I've only seen a few other musicals but from what I can tell all of them have far too many songs in them to the point to where the plot can't go 10 minutes without a song.

  • @shadowhexogram Most good ones are not quite so bad. The songs actually..are relevant.

This movie in particular had some good songs, but there were too many and it was just hindering the plot. Not all musicals get that clogged up.

  • @DELIVEREE Had this movie had far less songs, I think people would have been able to appreciate them more.

Thief had less, but who am I kidding..the love song, the "I don't want to be a princess"..it's all been done time and again, and far better. In fact, pretty much anybody can write music on that level. It takes little talent to make something to uninspired and forgetful.

    Just my opinion though.

  • @DELIVEREE Williams didn't even wanted songs for TTATC, Miramax bullshit made them

  • Somebody has to do a "No More Heroes" fanvid to this song.

    It fits Travis Touchdown perfectly.

  • This song... becomes pretty interesting when you forget the fact that the guy singing is a doll.

  • 2:20 dancing is way more interesting when you dont have bones

  • This movie impressed me so much, I actually begged my mum to order Raggedy Ann and Andy from America as christmas present for me. And I am really glad she did (she wasn't really surprised, because I collect dolls and other toys). Now I have my little Ann and her brother here. :D

  • Right. Only guy's toys have red long hair and a sailor hat.

  • well, Andy... ya kinda sound like a man singin' in drag, what does that make ya?

  • Did Andy threaten to punch the pin-cushion lady?

  • The cropped 4:3 version of this is actually unwatchable!

  • @lyris1

    I know. Fuck pan-and-scan.

  • Which movie had better musical numbers, this movie or Arabian Knight (the BAD Thief and the Cobbler)? I just wanna make sure.

  • IVE BEEN HURTEN ENOUGH! PACKAGES LANDING ON MY HEAD, TEA PARTIES, DANCING LESSONS....

  • Methinks thou doth protest too much.

  • This is like my favorite child's movie EVER. Me and my sister were obsessed with this movie for years! I remember loving this scene so much when i was a kid and now that i remembered this movie and watched it again....it is STILL my favorite part! I can't stop watching it! I keep hitting repeat! =D I <3 ANDY!

  • I've never seen this film, but I kinda dig the animation.

  • This is my favorite song out of the whole movie. I sometimes push the previous scene on the dvd remote just for this part. Andy rocks XD

  • This sounds like Broadway musical

  • @JNT737 Yeah it totally does! But i think that was the point of the whole movie. All the songs have a broadway musical theme to them! =)

  • @katiegary your right it's a Raggedy Ann Musical

  • @JNT737 Wouldn't it be awesome if this really was a Broadway musical! :D

  • @Logitah ya it would

  • 1:47 LOL

  • he has some mad dance moves. Imagine him playing DDR

  • @Maruigi2 For real, yo

  • 0:38 That looks suggestive O_o

  • @Maruigi2 How is it suggestive?

  • @bigmacsama well look where the snack is at

  • @Maruigi2 OKay then...if you say so

  • sick moves at 2:23 I used to love this VHS.

  • mark baker did the voice of raggedy andy

  • Look up ,,Depraved Dollies" article on Retrojunk to find out how much innuendo there was in the whole movie.

  • He just pressed his whole face against a pile of titties. 0:50

  • @lobsterhands123 Cause he is a manly man!

  • In my families beach house, we have the VERY ORIGINAL 1977 vcr :) I wanted to bring it home :(

  • Andy really doesn't have a choice, he's usually a girls doll everywhere. I don't know any boys that carry around Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls

  • @loey12886 hes a mans doll lol i want to see him with the transformers lol

  • @yassway30 he's mostly a girls doll and I don't think he will be with the transformers

  • @loey12886

Yeah, but not by choice. Andy would be quite happy with a tomboy, with the kind of girl who climbs trees and rides horses.

  • does anyone know who does his voice, it sounds so familiar, but I can't figure out who it is

  • I love Andy's voice!

  • My favorite song of the movie!!

  • Ergh... I freakin' knew this movie couldn't have been so innocent as it looked, especially with "Squeeze me tease me..." and "No girl's toy" being on the same stanza. They just had to sneak an innuendo in there...

    ...or is that just me?

  • Haha, Joe Raposo was actually a dirty man, so it's possible that he slipped innuendo in there.

But then again anything could be considered innuendo if you tried hard enough.

  • Well like Tom Lehrer said in Smut:

"When correctly viewed, everything is lewd. I can tell you things about Peter Pan and the wizard of Oz.

    There's a dirty old man!"

  • @SandalHatNW: Joe Raposo and many of the writers for "Sesame Street" in its original form inserted innuendo in it and now, it's so saccharine that it's almost laughable. But The Muppets are still awesome, whereas it seems Ann & Andy have faded with time.

  • Just you and your lewd mind, I guess(:

And this movie is BY FAR the most UNinnocent animated movie ever made

  • @SmokingSumSoup: It's just you... Girls love to squeeze and cuddle their dolls, and children [especially little boys] think exactly like Andy in this movie. Especially when he says "Would you be pushed around and squashed up by a bunch of GIRLS?!" It sounds EXACTLY like something a male kid would say, obviously different from what a teen or older guy would say.

lol, this is a really cute movie!

  • this one of my faves from this moive and Candy hearts and papper flowers

  • wtf why is andy always pissed off???? he isnt supposed to be such a dick >:C

  • @emo102492

He was mad because Marcella dropped that huge box at the begining of the video on him.

  • @dangard88 oh that makes sense, cant find the whole thing X(

  • @emo102492

Thats what makes him so awesome.

  • @PenItFoMeYo i geuss if thats how you see it

  • Call me crazy, but Andy, espeacially with this voice, sort of reminds me of Jan Valentine from Hellsing

  • are you talking about the brother who swears alot? WHAT!!!!!!

  • There is something undeniably sexy about Andy. Must be his voice actor. That is one delicious voice.

  • totally

  • @LittleRachael i agree but he isnt supposed to be so mean :/

  • Remember kids, you can be a doll, and STILL be manly.

  • I had no idea rag dolls could be so macho.

  • Andy's a real man unlike ken.

  • I bet he wishes that he was G.I. JOE....

  • Yeah, I bet he does.

  • @shadowhexogram i agree with you

  • @shadowhexogram Yeah, he makes Ken look like a total wuss-puss while Andy is more totally BUTCH than him.

  • @shadowhexogram Only more BUTCH than he is

  • @shadowhexogram Ken who?

  • As completely fucked up as this all is, I must say it's some of the most amazing animation I have ever seen. I will have to watch the whole damn thing.

  • This movie had some mindfuck moments.. in other words i liked it xD

  • lol "Watch it, Sister."

  • Andy was the best part of the this whole movie.

  • Amen to that! Damn Andy's so cute. X3

  • Don't you just want to hug him and never let go?

  • yeah he is! i had a raggady anne, but mine was kinda petite!

  • he makes the movie!!!! I love him!

  • Holy shit, did he just run up a wall?

    Andy's a freakin' pimp, man.

  • I think you've just written the one line that would make this film better - "Andy's a freakin' pimp, man." :) Godlike

  • Andy's awesome. this song is so catchy. he's my favorite in this movie

  • lol, I love this! :D

  • It's a pity this guy didn't do more voice work! This is my favorite scene in the whole movie though.

  • man, favorite song outta the whole movie. Could someone possibly send me the MP3 for this?

  • Fabulous. XD

  • Mine and my sister's fave film when we were growing up! And my mum's fave song of the whole film! Except for the camel song!

  • Aah, the good ole days in movies where if you wanted a point made, you could break out into song and dance.

  • I am just wondering what that thing is around 1:22, looks like a sack with a face.

  • That's what it is, you win.

  • lol hes no girls toy... =)

    thats manly.

  • Thanks for puting this on you tube!

  • Raggedy Andy is my boyfriend.

  • That guy is such a card!

  • i watched this when i was little and loved it, but what was the plot of this movie? i cant remember for the life of me! i wish i still had it! grr thnx for posting

  • the pirates from the snowglobe broke out and stole Babette so Raggedy Ann and Andy go out to rescue her

    oh wow I can't believe I remembered that o-o

  • so funny ! i want to see that movie omg ! :(

  • aww this is so cute!!!

I still have my raggedy ann that my mom made me when I was 8.

  • woah, you're right! it is Frenchy from Grease

  • I would love for you to put "Candy hearts and paper flowers" scene onto YouTube - fave scene! For all of you looking for this movie, it is posted on Ebay every so often. It goes for a hefty price, though.

  • I need someone to post the whole movie please!! I've been trying to find it for a while now and not getting anywhere fast. :S Thank you for posting this vid though. =)

  • I remember watching this when I was little. I wonder if we still have it...

  • Oh. My. God. I have been looking for this video for like, literally 10 years. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Spoken and written like a true Aquarius male. (The writer of Andy's song: Joe Raposo, born Feb. 7, 1937.)

  • Actually, the songs from this movie are all pretty cool.

  • he's pretty gay, actually... is that because he's a girl's toy?

  • Dang, if I was born 15 years earlier I might not have missed this movie! Oh well, I at least got to see it on video google.

What a fun song! This was my favorite scene.

  • Yeah they are brother and sister.

    I loved this movie.

  • Absolute love for posting this. This is my childhood. The amazingness of my childhood

  • That Andy is an inspiration to men, even if we have girls we've not become their toys that they can use.

  • This was my favorite sceane out of the entire movie! Still as good as Andy's act is it must have been a nightmare to animate but pure gold to watch! God I want this on DVD.

  • i can make you a copy if u want it...

  • i love the way he tilts his hat an raise his fists "watch it sisiter". guttin masel pure woman beater.

  • His Voice! If you didn't sing so well Andy, I don't think you'd have as many girls following you! :)

  • WOW, thanks for posting!

By the way, are Ann and Andy brother and sister or boyfriend and girlfriend? I was never sure. O_o

  • Apparently their brother and sister.

  • Cirrus/Ripfang/Skyscream: Actually, a lot of the original Ann and Andy books--which came before a lot of the dolls themselves--would say otherwise to the "bro/sis" claim. Besides, if they were siblings, wouldn't they've already known each other instead of acting like they've just met? As well, a lot of the "macho" guys--which Andy was trying to be--back in those days called women "sister" even if they WEREN'T related!

  • Actually, scratch my previous comment. It turns out that the museum that owns them has their official transcripted bios--and not those of a certain cartoon--up and in them, they're siblings. So I stand corrected, and I am sorry for any misunderstadings, although I still find it odd that the two would've acted like they actually knew each other instead of feeling like they just met.

  • I mean they did NOT act like they actually knew each other, but rather, acted like they just met.

  • Definitely brother and sister.

  • their brother and sister. I actually think that their twins, they look like they are. I think Andy's older though, but they have a great relationship in this movie

  • @loey12886: Yeah, they're siblings, but even so, their creator even said they were LITERALLY tailor-made for each other. They're like two peas in a pod, one can NOT exist without the other.

  • ...Am i the only one who notices Raggedy Andy kind of sounds like Jim Norton?

  • Raggedy Ann is Frenchy from "Grease". I freaked my dad out by telling him that at four years old....He actually looked and realized I was right.

  • SING IT!!!

  • Love this film!

  • more scenes from this fabulous film I uploaded on my page

  • I wish they put this DVD, I miss this movie.

  • Funny song!! Andy is Funny!

  • This was my favorite song from one of my favorite movies growing up. How did you find it!? (Thanks so much for putting it up!)

  • I dug up this VHS today and watched it. It's a great movie. I'm surprised (and happy) to see that someone had parts of it up on youtube!

  • Dude. This movie was the shit. Why, of all scenes, is Raggady Ann's song "I look, and what do I see?" not up on here? PLease, whomever's responsible, that must be represented, it arguably the nest song in the movie. Not to seem ungrateful for what I got. These were downright nostolgic.

  • I used to love tihs movie. Aw...

  • more scenes from this movie on my site

  • wow...andy sure can sing.

  • XD I love the look on his face when he complains about dancing lessons. I've never seen this movie but now I want to. =( I love Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls so much! I still have all mine from childhood...

  • I just watched this clip like five times and pawsws and started it the last run to try and see how the got Andy's movements to work. I loved this movie as a kid...

  • i love this vid all the songs r gr8!!! but candy hearts n paper flowers is da best 1
