Callesen engines are widely used to power all types of heavy duty work boats(fishing, tug boats and small cargo ships).A retired marine diesel mechanic,I have decades experience with all types of diesels.none, but none, comes even close to Callesen.Yes,the sound is nice,on a stormy day when the steady thump assures you that this diesel won't let you down.I think(hope)they still build engines in the 240-1300HP/3-400RPM range. The factory is in AAbenraa,Denmark.Regards:PrebenJacobsen,Ontario,Canada.
The only vessel I have been on that has a Callesen engine, is an old Danish mail boat that today takes tourists out on trips from Ballen on Samsoe, Denmark.

Love the sound.
Modern engines just do not have "personality".
What kind of vessel is it?
