  • i would love if someone uploads some videos with penalties to ussr that wasnt called

  • The non-call on the Soviets' fourth goal was worse as it created a breakaway chance. The difference is that the Canadians didn't cry about it, but instead found a way to win.

  • What! I thought that Koharski was a crooked ref for Canada! Ooh, maybe he;s just a bad ref.....

  • BRAVO KOHARSKI, YOU DID IT FOR CANADA!! :)

  • If you watch games from 80´s and 90´s, many of those fouls were left without a penalty. Cca from 2000 the referees started to give an better look on hooking, tripping and slashing.

  • i believe that was bykov who fell for the soviet

  • What a dive by the Soviet. Only the Swedes do it better.

  • Bykov should have fought through that soft hook and caught his man... hockey should be played hard, it ain't soccer where diving is rewarded...

  • russian hockey players are diving domestic divas, always have been. its embarrasing. this video is stupid, why dont you look for something to whine about from the vancouver games? sour grapes :)

  • In true Russian style...a dive as usual. He barely touched him and he went down quite easily. Reminded me of the Canada Russia game in the 2010 Olympics.

  • Just like Bobby Clarke breaking Kharlamov's ankle, another one of Canada's great victories is tainted.

  • @olobay I agree!

  • @olobay Wrong again, Kharlamov's ankle was NEVER broken. He never missed a shift in that game, he even played on the powerplay after faking the injury. He also played in game 8 and took a regular shift in that game as well. This mythical excuse has been given far too much credit to the point that it's thought of as reality.

  • @RigaFraction His ankle was fractured, you can find dozens of links pointing that out. He missed game 7, and although he played game 8 he was clearly ineffective.

  • one of the best games in history. does not matter who won, it's so much fun to watch. people who saying it's a dive probably never played the game and never skated. on those speeds even a little hook can result in fall. just enjoy the game!

  • The reason for the 3 on 1 is because 2 Soviet players knocked each other down in the Canadians' end just after the faceoff. Hawerchucks trip was away from the play, the Soviet didn't get up very quickly. Why are people so jealous over this victory 23 years later?

  • Comment removed

  • It's away from the play.

  • new NHL....would have been a penalty.

  • The guy looked like he was run over by a dumptruck, oops Hawerchuk's stick lol

  • Are Russians still whining that they lost this game? They had a 3-0 lead but the great Canadians stuck it to them good in the end. That Russian never would have caught up with Lemieux...face it, Russia, just another loss for you freaks

  • is canada still whining that they can only play hockey and nothing else???

    p.s. i am canadian

  • And what can Belarus, your native country, play besides hop scotch? Nothing. Canada will prove to you Russian wannabees that we're number one in the Olympics. Just wait, you'll see

  • canada sucks at basketball, soccer, tennis, summer olympics, rugby, we aren't that good at football, we suck at baseball, and hockey and some of the winter olympic sports are all we have left and the only reason we do win is cuz of people that come from africa and asia and "belarus" and win it for us cuz our stupid english settlers suck at everything

  • We got 24 medals in the summer Olympics so that's really good. Your country is the one that sucks. Why are you pretending to be Canadian? You're a Canadian wannabee is why. Canada has many great players in the MLB and NBA. We've won gold medals in tennis at the Olympics. You're a sad little man from Belarus and you suck at hockey and everything...don't even bother me again, little man

  • 1) i was born and raised in British Columbia

    2) i have never even been to belarus

    3) name some canadian NBA players that are good, but no MLB players cuz i am unfamiliar with baseball because i am CANADIAN

    4) there is nothing wrong with belarus

  • Why do you list Belarus as your native country then? You aren't Canadian, or you'd know that Canadian Steve Nash won the NBA MVP 3 years ago. And you'd know that baseball is popular in Canada and that we have a team called the Toronto Blue Jays. Quit lying....go bother someone else stupid enough to believe anything you have to say, which isn't much.

  • i don't even know where ypu got belarus from but i am definitely Canadian, canada must not be that big of a baseball country because we have one stupid team and the there is one NBA team that sucks, yes steve nash is from Canada, he was born in south africa so suck it and try leaving me alone you fucking patriot

  • I got Belarus from your country you listed as where you're from, you 40 year old retard. And Steve Nash was born in Canada...stupid twat. You eastern europeans are the stupidest, most useless people on earth. Just go annoy someone else

  • oh, you looked at my profile, i lied about it, i am from canada, look up on wikipedia, steve nash was born in johannasberg south america, you know nothing and you really do lick bum

  • his parents were missionaries big guy.

  • ya, what a shame. maybe we should play the game again.... Not!

  • Have another baguette frenchy.

  • "One of the worst cases of cheating"...oh shut up, you drama queen. You're right that Hawerchuk hooked him, where he then proceeded to take a 10.0 dive. Maybe he should have stayed on his feet instead of flailing around like a Swedish goalie.

  • contradiction. you say itäs a hook and a dive? cant be both dickhead

  • Yes it can. It's called all the time. 2 for the hook and 2 for the dive.

  • Oh sparky, try watching some hockey and learn what you're talking about before you reply again. It's called embellishment, and it happens all the time.

  • fucking moron. embellishment isn't the same thing as diving. if I hit you in the face, and you throw yourself on the floor, screaming your guts out. it's probably embellishment (who knows, maybe you would), but it's still a penalty: hit to the face. a dive is if I wasn't even touching your face

  • That's simply not true. Just do what I said, learn hockey and then comment.

  • clueless

  • Dude, 2 for hooking and 2 for diving. If the guy getting a hook puts an embellishment on it and falls, he can get a call for diving as well as the initial penalty for the hook to the other player. It's kinda like a delay of game and making the ref look stupid call all in one.

  • Russians are the scum of the earth. Nobody will deal with them they really are peices of shit.

  • No offense, but maybe the Soviet goalie shouldn't have ALLOWED five goala.

Oh, and the Soviets blew an early three-goal lead.

USSR COULD have put it away early, but they squandered their chances.

  • Why are people even discussing this? It was a tournament made to make Canada look good and beat the Communist SOviet union so why is it surprising north atlantic refs cheated? Get over it - Olympics is the ONLY real tournament

  • nope! ... nice try though

  • Typical! Team Canada got away with most anyting. Made you feel sick!

  • The clutch and grab game was all that happened in 80's hockey. There were probably 100 penalties NOT called in that 3 game series that would have been called in today's game. Yeah, Hawerchuk got away with one...get over it!

  • @robgbrown holding the stick or player by two hands, punch to face with two hands on stick, diving - all this was Ok for 80" ??? :)

    come on!

(frankly Koharsky stole victory from stronger team)

  • @guard777 WRONG :) Koharski's biggest blown call in this game was not calling Russia for hooking Bourque to the ice for a breakaway to give them their 4th goal. Canada beat the Russians in spite of Koharski's terrible call AGAINST Canada.

  • @robgbrown Yes U got it part right. Probably over 100 penalties not called, similar to all games involving Russia or the USSR. Where U run into difficulty, is, not admitting, 90% of the non calls, were in favor of the team the Russians or, the USSR were playing. A lot of the non calls should have been majors.

  • Exotnik <------ Thinks the Russian hockey program is better than the Canadian program because they have Ovechkin and they beat Canada in the last world championships! ahahahahahahah what a clueless joker!

  • What a typical stupid video by a Russian. If you look at it both guys were completely out of the play ..... no call = right call. " but ooooh ahh ooo ahhh russains are better!" SHUT UP! Canadians are the best everybody knows it!

  • :03-:05, you're pathetic...

  • :-) ... Good one!

  • The call would never be made with under 2 minutes left in the 3rd. Maybe in the 1st or second periods but not under these circumstances. Did you see the Soviet coach Tikhonov reaming guys out on the bench after the goal? He would have been reaming out Koharski the ref but didn't in this case. He even knew it was a dive at a terrible moment in the game. Hawerchuk did hook him, and in '87 this amount of obstruction hooking was within the rules, and a player was expected to fight through it.

  • total dive

  • There is now way this is a penalty.

  • Officiating in the NHL was lax compared to internation hockey which allowed players to get away things like this and contributed to a poorer game. Each NHL team had its own set of goons that targeted the great opposing players hence the shortened careers of Bobby Orr and Wayne Gretzky. The winning goal by Lemieux shouldn't have counted and forever taints the series as did Bobby Clarke's breaking kharlamov's ankle in the 72 series as per John Ferguson's request.

  • watch the Russians 4th goal in this game.Bourque gets hooked down while he has the puck and the russians take it in and score. so they are even

  • wow, i never saw this angle before. Hawerchuck did indeed interfere . . .but this was in the day where hooking/grabing/clutching was rampant throughout the game, so it was probably nothing new. It just looks bad compare to todays game

  • someone's bitter, i mean its been 20 years...hey to be fair let's look at the recent super series and see if russia's continued it's prominent position in the hockey world....no wait...canada won 7/8 games....and tied the only other one. Try and find a missed hooking call in that series that cost em the cup. Yea that's what i thought, suck it

  • wtf r u talking about)))??? what "recent" superseries? u mean youth teams or what???))) as i recall Russia won the last game against canada in olympics quarter final. and u r talking bs. russian youth teams dominated in 1999-2002 now Canadians rule, but that doesnt mean a shit

  • You are an IDIOT! ...

  • am i? i think u r) go watch the last WC final and cry

  • Yup you sure are! Check out that thing called the draft they had last week. How many Russains were drafted compared to canaidans and how many play in NHL and oh ya...... Were ranked #1 IIHF. You can go cry now ....

  • ha ha ha))) my god u r dumb. OF COURSE MORE CANADIENS WERE DRAFTED- THATS FUCKING USA-CANADA LEAGUE FUCKING IDIOT!!! go fucking check how many canadiens play in russian Superliga))) and remember- Ovi is number one in NHL, Malkin is number 2- Russia owned Canada this WC and last olympics too))) and yes go fucking cry! cause juniors dont mean shit

  • Its the BEST leauge idiot! The best player is Crosby annnnnnd Your little WC is a consolation tournament which we didnt have crosby, Lecaviler, iginla, thornton, Brodeur... ECT nice try looser! BTW Hitler should have gassed your wothless grandparents so you wouldnt have been born. COCKSUCKER! ahaha

  • dont cross the fucking line, u lil canadian imbecile. if i ever met u i would cut ur throat 4 these words. and say fucking thanks to people of my country for saving ur ass from fascism u fucking asshole.

going back to hockey -russia kicked ur best team's ass in olympics. r u goona deny that too? or maybe u've seen Malkin or Datsyuk or Gonchar or Kovalev playing for Russian team this WC? so why dont u just swallow it. Russia is the better side. And it will steal ur Vancouver Olympics gold too

  • Cut my throat! ahahaha ... Please! What are you some Chernobyl mutant retard? You and your 3rd rate country suck, look what russsia has won in the last 15 years! .....FUCK ALL compare that to Canada. SEIG HEIL!

  • u r just dumb. Dumb in every question u talk about. U say seig heil and talk about Hitler when u dont know shit about it. prob u try to insult me but u insult urself, now u make a "joke" about Chernobyl. It seems to me u havent seen shit in ur life. retard. just fucking think sometimes with ur head when u talk. and yes, if i, or any normal Russian man heard this kind of nonsense- u would get seriously hurt. i repeat-dont cross the line of common sense

  • Blah blah ... your full of shit.

Just tell me how many gold medals Russia has won in the last 15 years in ANY HOCKEY!

Then tell me what Canada has won! More than 2x's any other country and we clean up at the NHL awards almost every year ... YOU DONT HAVE A LEG TO STAND ON!

  • last 15 years, why dont u count last 50 years huh?-))) i see that this year Russia won WC in CANADA. In Torino Russia outplayed Canada too. All major awards in NHL this year went to Russians. And i dont even say a word about new continental hockey league thats gonna be a tough competition to NHL in a couple of years. So please go and tell about Canadien dominance in hockey to somebody else, cause u dont have A LEG TO STAND ON! even Sweden is more of a power in hockey than Canada nowadays

  • Well i dare you to answer my 15 year questoin! You wont becuase you know im right! So im speaking with a guy who thinks russia is better at hockey because of 1 player and one game played where the best players were not involved in? Your starting to crumble when you start bringing in sweeden. WHY IS CANADA RANKED #1????? Lets be even more current! Last 5 years.1 Olympic gold 3 world champ. 1 World Cup 4 junior gold all the womens gold and we walked all over your juniors last summer!!!! CANADA =#1

  • man) too much talking-))) u were beaten in Torino- beaten again in Halifax and Quebec. Russia is the world champion, has more olympic gold medals and same amount of WC medals. Best player of NHL is without any doubts Ovi and Sidney sucks even compared to Malkin. Russia has its own league that will kick ass. problems with the youth is because of economic downfall of 90-s when people couldnt even buy food not talking about amunition for hockey. But Russians are back- get used to being number two

  • You completely have your head shoved far up your ass.... I have argued this point with other russians WAY MORE knowledgeable than you.... Your not worth my time anymore

  • hahaha pathetic. u r silly as a 5 year old. dont ever forget that. and ur time isnt worth shit, so dont fucking act as some kind of an expert, u r just a pathetic canadien sore loser. hockey is so important 4 ur people, but european school is better, though hockey is not even sport number 1 there

  • Well enjoy all your olypic gold that russia won vs weak european teams and amatuer candian teams and Ovechkin who makes the WHOLE russian hockey program better than canada's maybe one day he will play in the russian super leauge joke. Ill Enjoy all of the gold medals that keep pouring in for Canada and will continue to. see ya igor!

  • weak European teams)? mmmm. Sweden? Czhech? i think they've won even more than canada last 15 years, didnt they? and about russian league. go read some news, Avangard signed Jagr. and that the first year this new league exists-))) so i guess soon NHL will lose most of its european players. and some of canadien also)))

  • Canada sent senior A teams!... Come on!!! open your eyes. Why do you think the 72 Summit series happend? Canada won 4 of 5 canada cups. Canada has won 5 World golds a olyipc gold and the last world cup. all with in 15 years no other country comes close. The Russians of 20 years ago were up there with Canada but not anymore. Jagr is washed up and doesnt like to skate hard, he just wants a big pay cheque ...

  • not anymore-)))??? let me remind u, that Russia is the world champion-)))and they defeated team Canada) in Canada) and Russia kicked u out of the last Olympics.

and dont forget about 74 series) and 1979 Challenge Cup) or maybe u forgot 8-1 in 1981??? their is no such thing as Canadien dominance in hockey since the soviets started playing this game.

  • let me tell you something about hockey that you don't understand. A real hockey fan loves the game, not just their team, When my favourite team losses I don't go on a riot on the internet. This game was a long time ago I get over my team losing pertty quick. Besides your team has won before so be greatful

  • Quite! Go Russia go! So many greaty players (forgive the spelling) Meltsev, Michailov, Petrov, Vasiliev, Krutov, Larionov etc - and perhaps the best goalie of all times: Tretchiak. I'm Swedish by the way.

  • Your stupid by the way ... If Tretiak played in the nhl we could see what he was really made of not European 2nd rate crap

  • we saw what Tretiak was made of when he played against NHL talent. He deserves any accolades that come his way. It would be hard to name 5 goalies better then him.

  • let me remind you the world championships isn't the Olympics or world cup. Yes 1981 Russia won and had a great team but canada won 4 Canada cups and russia won 1. 1974 was the WHA which was a 2nd tier leauge. Challenge cup was club teams and Montreal dominated the red army in 1975 new years. (the 2 best club teams)

  • oh please - The Soviet Union played brilliant hockey and Team Canada were thugs.

  • Yeah, Canada won 4 Canada Cups with Canadian referees - ideal for fair play, right?! What a joke! Such a sad little tournament.

  • Sad tourney with the best players ever ... yeah ok

  • How come no one ever talks about Ray Bourque getting hooked to the ice to create a 2 on 0 for the Soviets.

They score and make it 4-2. Where is the clip of that with the accompanying condescending critiques

  • Canada was (and arguably still is) the only country that can produce international-referees. Canada's Minor Hockey and Junior Hockey programs are unparalled and as a result almost all NHL referees are Canadian. The NHL was (and definitely still is) the best professional league without comparison. Where else are you going to find Referees?

  • haha. Of course World Championship don't count because all teams weren't at full strength. BUT - it's called 'Canada Cup' because it was 100% geared towards making Canada win. training times, distance traveled to various games, accomoadation, and of course refs all combined to make a vastly superior Soviet team get pummeled by Cananda. Deal with it :)

  • Canadians were always sore losers - injuring players on purpose, behaving like animals when they were outplayed. They suck!!!

  • If this was 1972, maybe.

  • 7-3

  • This discussion is absurd.

Everyone knows that a European player would never take a dive in an effort to draw a penalty. Anyone who would make such a claim has clearly never watched hockey.

And if you believe that, I've got some fabulous real estate near Timmins to sell you. :D

  • hahah hey i live in timmins nah man ur right about that no one would take a dive just to get draw a penalty only basket ball players or soccer players would pull that shit

  • I've never watched any of the Canada Cup, so I'm unaware of how poorly it was officiated. That being said, it was a horrible missed call by the ref that proved costly. Deplorable.

  • you obviously dont know hockey ... The Russian was out of the play and the player he was after to check (Murphy) didnt even have a snif in that goal. Wouldnt have made any difference!

  • Check out QWZRs Post on Game 3...it's not so "edited". Pause at 1:03...What do you see directly in front of the Soviet net. That's right. The same Soviet player, Gusarov then goes down and scores a goal...Then there's the hook on Bourque that directly leads to another Soviet goal...unnamed asks Canadian fans to make their own video...just watch the whole game not their selective isolations

  • Why doesn't anyone show all the other peneltys that weren't called, espically when the soviets would run the goalie? They knocked Grant Fuhr down in game 2 leading to a Soivet goal.

The original comment was right, its time to move on.

  • What are you talking about?

Go make a video proving your point then.

  • i think it's time to move on...

  • Fuck Don Koharski! Fuck that donut eating fat pig!

  • ah, fuck u. the commie bastard fell.

  • lol i agree

  • Commie bastard, huh? Got any other stupid shit to say or is that it?

  • one play of many in the game. the russians were known for their stick work behind the play. if you watched the entire series you'd realize he's lucky hawerchuk didn't "simon" that guy in the face.

  • No kidding! The Olympics were a joke\scam before the NHL got in. The Russsians played a bunch of crap teams throughout the 60's ,70's, and 80's. Germany,Finland, Checkzslovakia ooooooo and the low level minor leagures from Canada. The quality of hockey that the Russians dominated was AHL quality at BEST. Add Bobby Orr and Bibby Hull to the '72 Summit Series team and we win all 8 games even with most of Canadian the guys out of shape.

  • Don't worry Russia...after the Vancouver Olympics you can start beating up on amatuers again and pad your win loss stats...Nice little second place hockey nation...bit of a complex though...

  • 20 years ago...get over it bitches

  • Uncalled dive on the Russian guy you mean...Boy does this guy go down easily...two minutes for the guy who sharpened his skates

  • MORON... USA Referee Paul Stewart called the game.

Do you really think that the USSR would have allowed a Canadian ref, in a final game against Canada in Canada?

That "missed" call was nothing compared to the hook earlier in the game that the Soviets used to strip the puck and score.

  • wow, american ref, big difference))) why not Swedish? Chzech? heh. american referee in USSR game

  • ummm, you're an idiot. koharski did game 1 and 3, stewart did 2

  • dive

  • yeah, of course)))) he just decided to go down in a situation like that...huh, do u see how Hawerchuk does it??? he is a fucking pro) little hook nobody sees, but strong enough to pull a player down. but it is cheating...but thats canadians))) fucking cheaters who cant even play their precious hockey better than others

  • Earlier in the game the russians hooked our guy Retard

  • Did anyone consider that Koharski didn't see the hook? He may have seen a player fall down but perhaps the player tripped under his own footing. Plus this was an era when referees put their whistles away in the third period. Isolating small incidents within 60 minute hockey games doesn't prove anything. It was the best hockey ever played and the team that should have won, did.

  • Whatever your a tool. That commie never would have caught Lemieux anyway. I'm sure I could find a missed hooking call on a russian goal in the same game if I wanted to be a real whinner like you.

  • the Clarke and Karlamov thing is by far the most blown out of proportion thing in hockey history. He received a game misconduct and a 5 minute major for it, Kharlamov never missed a shift, played that very powerplay, finished the game and played in the final 2 games as well. Considering the kicking and slashing going on both ways, that was a nothing incident that has been hyped to death

  • Wrong, because of Clarke Kharlamov was unable to play in game seven and was ineffective in the final game.

  • Wrong, Kharlamov had been ineffective for several games leading up to the game in question, he never missed a shift, played on the powerplay, was benched in game 7 as many of the other Russians had at one time or another because there were more players than roster spots and he returned for the final game and played the same as he had in games 4,5 and 6.

But, why let ignorance stop you from trying to tell those that know better they are wrong?

  • We just all know that the Canadiens won the serie by playing dirty hockey. Clark was just messing around, not even close to playing hockey. The Russian were in a quite better shape than us. So I don't know what you try to pull off with that example but as far as I know and see, Kharlamow was'nt the same anymore after that slashing.

  • He wasn't the same BEFORE the slash either. As stated, watch the games before letting ignorance over-ride sanity

  • I watched them all!!! Only one player was as talented as any of them and this was Gibert perrault, for the rest north to south, watch kharlamov first game!!!!

  • Cournoyer was the best player in the series game in and game out, Kharlamov wasn't even Russia's best, Yakushev was. Kharlamov didn't do a thing from after game 2 6 so he was benched in game 7. He was NOT injured by Clarke he didn't miss a single shift and he played on THAT powerplay

  • this was 87 not 76 moron....perrault was retired!

  • plus this peneltey would of been a double penelty, first one for tripping, which the play should of been called straight away since they had possesion of the puck and the second one where he goes to hit him for interference since he was no where near the puck and it was after the whistle.

  • Everyone calm down. Canadians--why are you insulting Russians for no reason. Enough with the generalizations. I was born and raised in Canada and I remember watching this game -- Koharski (Canadian ref) was awful the whole game. I remember watching this play and thinking "wow, if we got caught on that we probably wouldn't have won." I want our team to win, but to win fair. This game was not clean, and I'm sorry to say we were largely responsible.

  • Shit Happens...

    it does look exagerated however.

  • Dive! Dive!

  • I have to laugh at the commie who uploaded this. No other country - EVER - in international sports (particularly hockey) ever cheated as often or as blatantly as the Russians. So, as far as I'm concerned, this is a classic case of the pot calling somebody else black.

    Typically Russian.

  • hahaha-) maybe you'll prove your opinion? this video clearly shows that was a hook, and it did led to the winning goal, u must be blind not to see that. and u also must have no idea about the history of hockey if u call russians cheaters. They always played clean and beutiful, and canadians always tried to win by breaking the russians down. u r just a blind fan of your team if u dont realize that, cause its obvious.

  • no, canada and russia have always been the hoceky super powers, but, alot of the time canada never had the proper players playing, but some times did, and were still beat, BUT, this is very iffy, because it was the 80's hooking didnt exsist, plus i dont think he would have caugh 66 anyway, but to say this was the only reason canada won...they out shot the team 2-1 this canadian team was just flat out better.

  • "Russians always played clean and beautiful"? sure... Like when Mikailov kicked Gary Bergman with his skate (and apologized 15 years later!). How about years of spearing and slashing, political manipulation, etc, not to mention cheating with drugs, etc, etc (in many many sports)? And you have the nerve to focus on one little hook in overtime? Watch the whole game pal. Watch all the games.

  • oh shut up. Ur "stars" were trying to literally kill Kharlamov in every episode, and american referees just let ur team do whatthefuckever it wants to. Political manipulation& really? want it the US who first ignored the Olympics? wasnt it MANIPULATION? chaeting with drugs is just pathetic words.

  • Lmao... Typicly russion? throughout the 1960's to 1980's russions dominated world hockey, practicly undefetable, in every olympics only defeated in 1960 against USA And of course the 1980 miracle on ice where the usa bet the soviets 4 - 3, bt still lol, saying that russians cheat to win? haha no way they worked for every single bit,

  • I have always wondered whether anyone else noticed the hook; I did right away. Lemieux's goal should not have counted, and the Russians should have gone on the power play. I am Canadian and would very much like to believe that the goal shown in the video proved we were the best hockey nation. It did not.

  • Man everytime I look at one of these old hockey games I see some Russian whining about calls. You know what's funny I don't see any clips of the USA getting screwed in the 72 olympic basketball final. It must be because Russia has so many more TVs and computers than America.

Mind you if you can find video of Bobby Clarke slashing Valeri Kharlamov that would be appreciated, that was dirty, and I'm a Canadian.

  • That was dirty along with a ton of things in that series on and off the ice. On the ice, both teams were ruthless. Off the ice, the Soviets pulled tons of nonsense and manipulated everything.

  • the previous comment was an attempt to reply directly to a comment about Clarke in 1972 but it didn't post that way

  • yeah) like the US didnt. dont act like freaking angels. not even funny. I\ve watched the 72 final and i dont see the point. Clean win. u r talking nonsense

  • What does the US has nothing to do with this? This is about Canada vs USSR. The difference in attitude is well reflected in how the two teams were treated in their respective countries in the '72 series. The Soviets were given a first class treatment in Canada. The Soviets "misplaced" food shipments, made crank phone calls in the middle of the night, disrupted practices, etc., in addition to manipulation of officiating.

  • manipulation of officiating? u must be nuts. USSR played HOCKEY, not fighting on ice. referees worked NHL style letting nhl players cover their weak sides with their fighting skills.

  • Get a life

  • Get a pair of eyes. cyclonix13 is right.

  • It's right there at 4 seconds in - Hawerchuk hauls somebody (#47) down - but this video ends right before he's nailed at the side of the net (anybody's who seen this goal knows the hit I'm talking about).

Since I don't remember either of them getting a penalty, I'd call it even.

  • How could you call it even? lol

One of them was after the play...The other penalty would have prevented the goal. BIG DIFFERENCE
