Reportedly, the last sessions ever done at Motown Studio A in Detroit were for this album. And, in typical record industry style, the musicians were not told their jobs were permanently outsourced to others in L.A. until after these tracks were completed.A great send-off for the Funk Brothers, wasn't it?
And, is it only me and lots of other fans that feel SOMETHING was never quite as good in those L.A. Motown releases compared to their Detroit output?
this is magic!!!! i can play to this now!!! my dream come true!!! thanks so much!! i remade an instrumental too, and the hip hop artist commented on it!! music is the best
i played this until the album turned white some one in my house hid it from me so i went out brough it again.brought one for each sister one for my lover at that time.i just couldnt get enough of this album it was like a drug like sex like chocolate like freedom like being loved.it made me laugh and cry. it took me through a hold gambit of emotions. thank you marvin so much

Released in January 1971 as Tamla 54201 on Motown's Tamla Records label and is featured in the Singing Machine's "Motown Original Artist Karaoke" & from the Tamla/Motown LP "What's Going On"(Title Track)
The greatest R&B song ever recorded. Hats off to the Motown Funk Brothers; Eddie "Bongo" Brown, James Jamerson, the greatest Bass Player of all time. Eddie Willis, Joe Mesina, Earl VanDike, Ural Jones, Pistal Pete, Bob Babbot.....and
@blount4762 many of them were/are my friends - please give them the respect of spelling their names right: Joe Messina, Earl Van Dyke, Uriel Jones, Richard "Pistol" Allen, Bob Babbitt and all the rest
