Most cats HATE baths. Anyone who has given a cat a bath knows how painful it can be since they yowl and scratch and fight tooth and claw to get away. It takes 3 fully grown women to pin one cat down long enough to give it a bath.
Thank you for your video, pain, and suffering (both yours and your poor kitty's). I have two cats, one I should rename to 'stinky', but due to recent extreme hot weather (heat wave here), I am debating performing my first ever fully immersible cat bath. I'm dreading it, but I also am trying to do it for his well-being.

Okay I don't know if you're a foster parent to this cat (since you said your mom works at the humane society) or if you're the owner...but if you're semi-allergic, why even have a cat? I don't think you're trying to harm the cat or anything but it's obviously distressed.
I won't say that's mean... I am, however, a total sap. I get why you do it, and I often get the urge to bath my own Stinky when she rolls in 'who knows what' then decides to lay on my bed, climb trees and cover herself in sap then lay on my bed...
Nah, it's not mean, it's logical. They get miserable and cry, but probably love you the moment you give them a chew stick. =)

i don't understand why in all these cat bathing videos all the comments are like people yelling "cat abuse" or "poor kitty". You people need to understand that people give cats baths whether they like it or not because they need it. So many people spoil their cats to death... seriously. T_T
I bathe my cat every two weeks and it is ok. What makes this hard to watch is that you aren't holding her right or talking to her right, so of course, she is getting agitated. If she is always like this, you need two people to do this in order to be good to the cat - one to hold and one to do the work. This is a little cruel, because you could be doing it better. (sorry to be such a jerk, but this upsets me - it doesn't have to be this way)
some find this distasteful, but seriously, cats need baths. Their natural method is not adequate for some of the man-made things they get into, etc. It's not torture, the cat is just whining like a kid whines when getting a shot. It lasted 3 minutes...no big deal, and now the owner and the cat are happy.

the best way to give you cat a bath is to hold there paws with one hand and wash them with with the other it also calms them down and lets them now they wont die trust me i do it with my own cats

just an idea... when my newest kitty was young, he required constant bathing (litterbox issues LOL). We found that if you bathe kitties in a sink, they fight and resist less. It seems when they can see out, they are calmer. btw- my kitty loves to take showers now, so maybe yours will learn to love the water too! :]

She is only in there long enough for me to get her wet, scrubbed and rinsed, maybe a total of 5 min. Then, I take her out, still holding her by her neck and swaddle her in a towel so I don't have to hold her by her neck, I hold her until she is calmed down and then she's more than ready for me to help get her dry.
No, its not abuse to hold your kitty by the scruff of her neck, because thats how cat's and dogs mothers treat them when they misbehave (that actually cat mother not human mother)

Ha, ha. I think it was getting tired by the end of the bath because it's meow's were getting a little weak and breathless. Cats are hard to give baths. When we give ours baths they do that kind of stuff, too. It's very hard because they jump around a lot.
lol I always consider a cat bath a two person job, one holding the front legs so the cat remains still and can't claw you the other person doing the soaping and rinsing. Your brave to do it alone, good job! Also smart that you used a cup to get him wet and not running water. The noise of running water seems to freak em out. His meow was cute and positively hilarious! I was almost on the floor laughing at this cat. That was so freaken funny. It was actually conveinent when it held on to the bar. That was very entertaining!!!

Hunni, you don't need to explain yourself to anybody. I can tell that you're a loving cat person and honestly at times, them bathing themselves isn't enough. here's a tip on bathing a cat on a tub.....
put them standing on the corner of the tub and he'll probably stay there just meowing to the wall.
well thats what all of the cats i've had bathed on a tub do......

Just put some kitty shampoo in the toilet, drop the cat in there, and hold the lid shut. The kitty will bath itself WHILE cleaning your toilet bowl.
