I've been trying what you said, with moving my hands, but I find myself repeating the same hand movements almost immediately, and I can't think of anything new to do with them. if ur lackin in hand movements try hand chest pumps, and variations of up downs and seperates ie not symetry. i also try water flow movement like swimmin in the air and dj movment... its like gym arobics but at a club, but with way better music

He looks smooth, it looks good, but she looks kinda rigid and awkward.

When I do it, I feel how she looks which obviously affects any manouvers.

Would you say it's more about being confident and loosening your body, or just hammering variuous techniques even if you still feel awkward?

Alot of it is about confidence, some ppl are too tight and some ppl are too flimsy. Repetition is key to perfecting the moves, and also getting feedback from others.
