  • This song has been so hard to find for me.

  • "everone I know considers me a clown"

That ONE lyric always struck something in me and has stayed with me for YEARS. I've been trying to find this song like mad the last few days and am glad to hear it once again. I miss the songs of the 90's that I grew up with....

    :-/

  • Oh, and I remember when it was alright if you sounded similiar to the bands you were influenced by. Apparently, it's not such an okay thing anymore..

  • Just heard it on 97.5 the kmod, and looked it up. :D

  • Intro sounds like heart shaped box.

Verse melody sounds like Aero Zeppelin.

But all in all its a reason why its a good song.

  • Being stupid, I skipped my chances to see Oleander at the Brick Works in Chico, CA.

  • I relate too well with this song. 5/5

  • WOOt i heard this on 105.9 and looked this up

  • @SLITHERMAN54 Pittsburgh?

  • wow you guys, i really don't think oleander, kurt or any other artist creates anything so that ppl can bicker about it, its a person's expression of a feeling or opinion. they chose to share it with you, relate to it or learn from it, enjoy it or turn it off. either way, get over yourselves...please?

  • Who gives a shit! All music and art come from other influences! Do you think Nirvana invented the guitar?

  • i sit around and get drunk and drool on myself

  • Yeah, I'm writing this off as a COMPLETE Nirvana rip-off. And I don't even really like Nirvana that much...bottom line, you don't do that. "Hey guys, lets just re-tool an established bands guitar riff, write a lyric where I sound exactly like said band's singer and pass it off as our own."

I already didn't respect them, but I officially don't like Oleander after learning who the fuck this was. I always thought it was Puddle of Mudd (who are in the same boat) or something. Gay, weak, dislike.

  • @Illumirage Who cares, nirvana fucking sucks anyway. Kurt hated Nirvana and he hated their most popular song. Plus, this band broke up a long time ago.

  • @GamerzPro1231

So you're denying this sounds like Nirvana? I'm not sure what you're getting at...

  • @GamerzPro1231 Yea ok Kurt hated Nirvana. He hated the song just because he didn't like what it became, he still liked the song. Ignorance is bliss huh? Guess so.

  • @tjlanglois1989, Hendrix you moron. You talk about appreciating him and you can't even spell his name.

  • Is there anything in this video?

  • I think more bands should sound like Nirvana. Not exactly like them, but this song is kick ass and fuck whoever looks down upon it. Long livvvveee The GRUNNNGE!

  • still love it. will always love it. thanks for posting.

  • This song does sound similar to Nirvana, but IMHO better than anything they've ever done. I seriously can don't listen to this song enough, it is the true definition of nirvana. Bravo Oleander, bravo.

  • it sounds like Oleander and totally Original

  • I used to always fall asleep with the radio on, and every time I would wake up while this was playing. To this day when I hear it I feel this Erie nostalgia for late nights of my youth.

  • I used to stay up late in middle school and listen to this album while playing Final Fantasy VII. Ah, those were the days!

  • i just had this urge today (my birthday) to listen to this song... hmmm.

  • he does NOT sound ANYTHING like kurt cobain. this guy can actually hold a tune and not have to sing through his ears.

  • @smokrz8mykids Yes, they do have different singing abilities. But no need to insult Kurt.

  • @lelouchxccdomain I wasn't unsulting Kurt. He's like Jimi Hendrix. He sang his song because he felt someone else couldn't do the lyrics justice. Jimi Hendrix admitted he couldn't sing. I am a HUGE fan of Nirvana. I respect them for the introduction to 90's Alt/Rock. Rock would be lost without Nirvana.

  • @smokrz8mykids if i EVER hear someone compare Jimi Hendrix to Kurt Cobain again..... the only time you can say them in the same sentence is they both died at 27

  • @DEBOSfilms I totally agree with you. No one should ever compare them. That guy was just dumb. Nirvana was grunge, not alt. Rock would have been perfectly fine without Kurt Cobain. Jimi Hendrix did godly things with a guitar, and no one can even hold a candle to him.

  • @tjlanglois1989 Fuck you. Kurt contributed a lot and your most likely not even old enough to even appreciate hendrex?

  • @SaleskiCC As someone who has studied being a musician since sixth grade (i.e. baritone, tuba, trombone, trumpet, french horn, cornet, guitar, bass, and piano) I can honestly say that I appreciate Hendrix. LEARN TO FUCKING SPELL HIS NAME. Kurt whined his ass off while the other band members actually played music. I'll agree that Kurt could write some really good lyrics, but he couldn't play a guitar to save Courtney Love's life.

  • @tjlanglois1989 I read his name was originally spelled Hendricks, but he changed it when his career took off. And I agree with you on Cobain. Not a good guitar player per se, but did write some cool songs though.

  • i swear the guy that sings this sounds like kurt cobain it gives you chills down your spine creepy

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • I liked this song better when it was by Nirvana...oh wait...lol

  • Okay! Because your precious life is being ruined by a youtube thread that you CHOSE to read. I will "stop with this stupid bullshit." You're welcome.

  • update:

19 people need to jump off of Dawson's creek and drown.

    lolz

  • @velliebellie Stop with this stupid bullshit

  • Amazing how Nirvana-like this sounds! I love it!!

  • 18 people must be Justin Bieber fans

  • 18 people go bike riding

    yep

  • 18 people are not here

  • now 3 is where i found this song!

  • anything from the 90's rules....Even the worst band of the 90's are better than the best bands of today....

  • @theorginalbnude hey now, iron maiden are still rockin

  • @theorginalbnude You got that right!! EMO? Makes me want to puke! Ughh!!

  • @ghostscantkill Define "Emo". Rites of Spring does not fall under your category.

  • @theorginalbnude Amen to that

  • I heard it on the radio and the first thing i did when i got home was look it up on youtube. Awesome song

  • @YoungBlood313 dido

  • @YoungBlood313

Me too! I can't believe I haven't heard this until a week ago, and I kept wondering who it was or even the name of it. I had to google the lyrics first, then find it here.

  • LMFAO this song is amazing ...

people just want to hate because they have no lives! they have to find some way to try and make themselves feel better...

    Quit trollin!

  • Very UNDERappreciated band! Love them.

  • Too good to be Nervana. This is one of my all time faves.

  • @sjergons fuck you nirvana rules

  • @brothergrim427 Your just butthurt because Nirvana sucked. Dave Grohl is awesome, but you and your buddy Kurt are/were morons. That's why he's dead. Moron.

This in no way sounds like Nirvana. I don't hear the death gurgle.

  • @sjergons i wish you well but i dont give a shit about your opinion get it

  • @sjergons your a faggot

  • @buffaloSabrespommy You're*

  • @buffaloSabrespommy Ok. Not a Nirvana fan. If I was I'd be commenting on a Nirvana video. Big fat hairy deal. Wittle baby gonna call names over my dislike of Nirvana. Grow up losers. ha ha.

I'm a fagot. Ok. Feel inadequate much? lol. Listen buffalofker, if you can't spell the word fagot properly perhaps you shouldn't comment. You just show your stupidity. Hope you all keep the comments coming though. Tickles the shit out of my funny bone. Idiots.

  • @rusticgt Was I talking to you fucking asswipe? I point at the song as shit. why dont you take a shit where your standing and plant your face in it.

  • bad song. music these days sounds like chad kroeger choking on his vomit.

  • @bizznizz8624 who the fuck asked you asshole why don't you go masterbate to jutin biebler and leave this page jackass.

  • @bizznizz8624 what a f'n douche

  • Such a great, great, great, amazing, incredible, underated band!!! Oleander have other great songs like Tightrope, Rainy Day, I Walk Alone, just to name a few but this band is wicked underated.... Damn shame!

They did a good song called "Save Me"

  • i think even the lead singer sounds like kurt... but if u listen the drum pattern is a little more complex and not power bangin

  • They're from my home town!

  • @ryderims I couldn't agree more!!!

  • When this song was new, everytime I played it, SOMEONE thought it was Nirvana.

  • I like this song a lot

  • Simply the best song i've heard in a while, this fits in so well with my life.

  • good song to bad the hole rest of the album and every thing else they put out sucked no offence but ther a one hit wonder

  • I love this song!!

  • I seen these guys at a club in california back in "99" they sound just like this fn awesome,They opend fo fuel

  • Beginning sounds like Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box"

  • @jahaines579 I heard this on the radio a few days ago and I turned the song up thinking it was them. Then I was like what the fuck!? But it,s still a good song.

  • @jahaines579

    You're retarded.

  • @Dystopiansscrenename fuck you

  • @jahaines579

Nawh mate, fucking me will make your asshole sore. ;]

  • @jahaines579 i just realized that. They have alot of Nirvana sound in their music too.

  • @jahaines579 ha ha i know. this song could fit the grunge genre:P are any of there other songs simular to this or the grunge genre?

  • @jahaines579 Yup. Just much, much better.

  • @jahaines579 I thought it was Nirvana when I first heard this song.

  • @jahaines579 i actually thought this was made by nirvana

  • the 90s a great era in music

  • I honestly don't know how this video has less than a million views.. Honestly...?

  • @mikewalgren maybe because this ain't exactly a video! :B but the sound, nobody could disagree... listen to that chorus, so deep, so organic...

  • 90's rock is dearly missed!

  • but now we're way past

  • Prime example of a radio band that puts ONE decent song on an album full of bullshit filler. 'February Son' was absolutely horrible.

  • @JoeDeceiver That's weird, I liked the whole album along with all of Joyride.

  • @JoeDeceiver too true

  • 90s music rules all!

  • Good one

  • Always in love with this song :)

  • best song ever!!!!!!

  • I don't agree with censorship, there is just something about this song that is really dark.. Very good though, I feel like I can relate to it.

  • i heard this song on the radio and it took me like 2 months to find out who it was. love this song!

  • @darkprince65 i know that one, its so frustratin lookin but once ya find it, it's like discoverin the holy grail. only better cos its real!

  • Everyone I know considers me a clown. :(

  • sucks for you

lol same im funny tho :]

  • it sounds like nirvana probably because of the quiet, mournful melody that it carries. i knew it wasnt nirvana when i heard it but i loved it

  • God I love this song... reminds me of a long drive from Phx to Vegas in the middle of a bad relationship.. the whole CD is awesome!

  • when i first heard this song i thought it was nirvana. gr8 song though

  • me too man.. it took me forever to find this song

  • reminds me of oleander's cover: february son, where little robot's in a flower field

  • I like that they ripped off part of a song by Emulsifier, a local band, and during a show in Pensacola where they were both playing, Emulsifier got them back by opening with one of Oleander's songs and then bleeding it into one of their own. The guys were SO pissed; it was all over the radio

  • weird that must be old news cause oleander has been around since I was in highschool

  • I saw 'em in Pcola at capt. funs back in 99!

  • Icant love u anymore Jay

  • "And woman, I just wanted more." God, do I know that feeling.

  • rubican it is a good song for sure, but to say this is ahead of it's time is like saying The Darkness were ahead of there time haha.

  • really great song

  • this is a big nirvana feel to it

  • yeah the first time i heard this song i thought they'd found some unreleased nirvana or something

  • i thought the same thing and i kept looking for it in itunes under nirvana

  • 10-20-2009. He can't be blue. He's only 42. Happy Birthday, Doug. Maybe you all can come to my area and perform sometime. Columbia, SC and/or Augusta, GA. Think about it. Peace out.

  • All I can say is this describes my feelings!!!

  • just so everyone knows these guys are back together and writing a new album

  • Yeah I just heard that today

  • i love this song

  • yea its been forever since i heard this

i remember i used to confuse it with cobain

    and then i was like

wait hes dead. a different band perhaps.

  • The X is awesome, as is this song...

  • one of the best songs ever!!!

  • yeah i never ever knew the name of this song how old is it anyone know?? i been a delivery driver for 6 years so radio is on 24/7 and i just recently heard this for first time this year i figured it was new

  • the song came out in 99,the band just got back together last year..

  • yeah i was just surprised this song slip passed me for so long and how no rock stations ever played it in ohio until 2008 and i should know i always listened to rock radios tons of great rock stations

  • Song is a little over 10 years old. Nice sound, really ahead of it's time, didn't get the recognition it deserved even back then. Came out about the same time as Godsmack, Incubus were making their stakes in rock music.

  • I've JUST been introduced to this song via the radio today! I love it!

  • it sounds almost exactly like nirvana, in no way is it progressive in anyway.

  • what song are you referring to

  • it sounds like heart shaped box.

  • not really maybe if you think about it but i don't hear it

  • i can play it and it's not like that song at all

  • well one of them!! dont get cocky!

  • thats exactly wat i thought when i first heard this song!

  • Ain't heard this song in forever...good memories ^^

  • love this song

i didnt know for the longest time what it was called lol

  • Me too! I heard it on the "4 o'clock flashback" thing on the radio at the work the other day and was totally taken back in a weird way. Haha

  • this used to be on on 105.9 the X the radio station where i grew up ALL THE TIME like they played it constantly. i love it =]

  • I had moved on to another video when it hit me you said 105.9 the X ...pittsburgh kid huh?

  • actually i live in North Eastern Ohio. but uhm yeh i get that station a lot and i got to Pa frequently.

  • I just learned this song on my guitar.....I'm still trying to nail the lyrics while I play though...

    I'm gettin' there

  • sounds like heart shaped box
