  • Ah...so there seems to be some misunderstanding here...these girls are dancing Russian Dance with an Irish theme which is wonderful! I really love this,

  • @jewishcelt Have you ever seen Russian dances? Music, moves, rhythm, - they are no doubt Irish, unless you're deaf and blind. There is absolutely NOTHING Russian here in this dance. Yes, there is some Russian attitude here: smiling is a must when Russians dance

  • @umnayazhopa This group is a dance ensemble, not an Irish dance group, and the girls seem to be ballet dancers...I have been an Irish dancer for the past 15 years so I know what Irish dance is when I see it. This seems to be a mixture of Ballet with Irish Dance...in a way it reminds me of the Russian Dervish from Riverdance. Sorry I didn't mean to say this was Russian dance...I meant to imply it was possibly the Russian Ballet. So to answer your question...yes I have seen Russian dance.

  • Qué hermosas! Bellisima danza!

  • I wanna dance like thatD:

  • OMG this is so fun!! *-*

I wanna dance like them, that's really awesome!! *-*

  • Why on Earth don't people dance like this anymore? It looks as fun as anything!

  • very good

lots of russian attitude in there

  • 素晴らしい!!!!

  • somehow I get the feeling that Jumpstyle originated from this dance

  • Great !! Bravooo!! Excellent!!! Bravo girls! Go Ireland!! +***** from Greece :)

  • I've seen them tonight !!! they are fucking amazing!! The dancers are unbelievable. They lunched at my high school before the representation, and even if I study russian at school, I did not dare approach them! The boys are especially beautifuls!

  • they remind of of young frolicing horses, gracefully galloping and playing in a meadow! wonderful dance!

  • This dance is mixed. irish with russian dance elements & moves.. I like it :)

  • russians are very close to irish. If you watch adygeah dance it's very similar to irish dance

  • I am a registered Irish dance teacher...

    and have to say

    I love this....

Well done to your school, and more so to your dancers

I will not say simply brilliant.... but brilliant! (-:

All the way from Dublin Ireland

  • wonderful performance!

  • The best part of life is seeing your daughter perform like this.

  • When I was young in Ireland I competed in Irish dance competitions, we never wore wigs. Where did the wigs come from? they are awful. We always wore our hair down, with a small riibbon or hairband the same color as our costume.

  • Great to see Irish dancing spreading around the world and taking on the flavour of each country's own culture.

  • No wigs! Just lovely long hair.

  • @jngwatson i love traditional wigs! :)

  • They did a great job, I'v always loved folk dance and music and its wonderful to see that the origins of our cultures aren't dying out with the arrival of the new mainstream stuff

  • chica476 :

Please understand that. These girls dance repertoire includes more than 30 different Nations. The Irish dance just one of many.

  • очень очень очень круто ..

    наши девчонки молодцы

  • I am Irish and these young Russian girls made me proud to see them dance an Irish jig...it is great to see another culture take interest in dancing a different step and those Russians are great dancers as well.

  • ¡¡Que bonito!! Deberian subir mas seguido estos videos, mandenlo a sus amigos. Que alegre es el baile irlandes y su música y cuando esta influido por el estilo ruso mucho mejor.

  • Those girls are excellent! Great posture, great body movements, very mature dancing. And they look so beautiful with all those long hairs flowing around ((:

  • Zhenevjev...I agree, just like the Irish girls...Like I said, they made this Irish girl proud.

  • @Zhenevjev pedo bär xD

  • @EcoChRome00 I am a female.

  • @Zhenevjev hmmm ... yes and? u also can be a pedo xD

  • It looks effing disturbing O_o it's like.. electric mixers... O_o but its soo coool i wish i could do that..

  • Very well done. <3

  • completely unauthentic, they may be from russia, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't at least try to mirror the gaelic culture a little more.

  • @chica476

Please understand that. These girls dance repertoire includes about 30 different Nations. The Irish dance just one of many.

  • What is this music?

  • My cousin is the second one to the right!!

  • I wouldn't condemn the head movements too much; it's show dancing, not competition. And besides, have you seen Riverdance? They have head movements galore, it's just projecting the performance to the audience. =)

  • hermosas... pero se nota el toque ruso es el baile XD

  • I also loved their posture, when I look at beginner Irish dancing, I cringe at the posture. I think there should be more emphasis on posture when teaching beginner Irish dancing. Some young Irish dancers have a tendency to throw their upper body forward as well as bounce their head up and down. I've also seen it at an adult class that I was attending, the instructor never addressed posture. This is just my observation.

  • Hermosas !!!

  • Great Irish footwork, but the big arm movements and especially the head movements (in Irish dance, the head doesn't move and the eyes have to stay level) indicate to me that this is a Russian interpretation of Irish dance.

I just wish more Irish dancers would wear their natural hair straight, too.

  • absolutely stunning!

  • Well Done!!

  • This is certainly Irish dancing. The movement choice isn't exactly what we'd see in the US, but these girls have absolutely beautiful posture; the musical emphasis is right; and the technique from the waist down is very nearly spot-on. Anyone aware of both Irish and Russian dance styles can see the Russian influence in it, especially at 1:45 (knees a bit wide, for example). And I only WISH I could do what they're doing at 2:00 in!!!

  • I totally agree with you. Something makes me suspect that they may be a Russian ballet corps that is emulating Irish dance. There just seems to be so much of a Russian influence. If I'm right, then they've made the transition between styles far better than most (ever seen tap dancers try Irish?) :)

  • yeah i agree - lovely style but def not irish dance - very much russian dance/ballet

  • Good dancers, but that's not Irish Dancing ;o)

  • Pretty. But not irish.

  • that was pretty good!

  • Absolutely beautiful!!!
