Good question. What chance does any married couple have? As good a chance as they both want. That being said, according to Lane's folks (I'm paraphrasing) they were very happy. They were also very young. Who knows? The romantic in me would like to think, yes they would have stayed happily married, raised a family, and been settled into ranch life about now raising kids, cattle, and horses.
