  • Did he say his name was Jongathan?

  • Op. 66 and 66 likes. :D

  • Holy fuckin shred! Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn this is beyond impressive.

  • awesome. I just got a melodica as a gift. Putting it to good use. Good ol' Hohner student 32.

  • WOah!!~

  • I just bought one of these. can't beat the sound for that price, right?

  • Suddenly Chopin sounds like he belongs in an Italian bistro. O_o

Very cool performance. Thanks for sharing it! :)

By the way, is it difficult for a pianist to pick up the melodica without any previous familiarity with woodwinds?

  • @GMJ7 I thought i replied to this, but apparantly not!

Sorry for the delay. It is not at all difficult to pick up the melodica, with or without woodwind experience. You simply blow while pressing keys and sound comes out, the harder you blow, the louder the sound, and as long as you can sustain a breath, you're golden. Highly recommended for a fun go-anywhere instrument!

  • AWESOME! Nice work. Believe it or not, I actually played this piece! =) Your musicality even comes through (as much as the instrument allows) on the melodica! Cool.

  • Hahahahahahaha

So I was going to leave a little note on your Facebook wall asking what the heck that thing you were holding was, but then this link caught my eye. I am thrilled to have watched this.

  • Jonathannnnnnn!! hahahaa this is 11 different kinds of awesome.

  • Excellent! I was expecting something funny, but it was actually very musical.

  • @sauterne Thanks! I'm glad you liked that, i'm planning to do some more things with the melodica.

  • haha, this is fun. i've been playing the impromptu on the piano a lot and at some point you don't care about butchering it anymore ;) must have been tricky to arrange for the melodica's range too. I also have one, it's fun to play, especially given how easy it is, earns the rage of all proper wind players ^^

  • @Sorcerer88 Too true. I used to/kinda still do play the flute, and its not half as easy as this. I'd love a bigger range... this is the cheapest half decent melodica though. Everything else gets real pricey real fast.

  • Jonathan!!! My my haven't u gone a long way!!! So random my friend posted this on her facebook. It's hilarious! Hope ur well, Van-Anh :)

  • @vananhnguyenmusic I definitely went a long way to pick up the melodica. Glad you enjoyed!

  • Very nice Jon! What's the action like on that melodica? Just like a Bechstein?

  • @HairSuitGentleman Definitely. If the bechstein was half sized, had plastic keys, and no action behind it to speak of. The keys have no feedback- so for repeated notes its far better to repeat with the breath instead of repeatedly tapping keys.

  • J-Dog. This rocks. The lady and I love it. Youtube sensation.

  • @cisumback Thanks man :)

@ScottLamMusic Thats if he's not spinning in his grave. Fear not, (or maybe look out) there will be more coming :D

  • I am sure Chopin would have asked you for a melodica lesson....... :P Great stuff. More, more....

  • awesomeness!!!!

  • TIME TO MAKE MILLIONS!

  • @alkanian

I want some of his millions.
