lol wtf, u should lvl outside 'till lvl 4, then enter the shrine and beat everything and in the process u'll lvl up some more, then take on Garland. That's what u should really do.

1st time I faced him i fought him at level 3 witch is a reasonible level but level 4 is the recommended.
