Obviously you can compress HTML well. Its based on the very retardedly verbose XML/SGML. But if you use Apache, just enable compression, and be done with it. No need for Opera.

And you cant re-compress the already compressed existing embedded media like images/sound/video/etc without losses anyway. So it will not help on that, or make pictures look worse.

Opera is nice, but no thanks on all of that. On most servers, compression is enabled anyway. And I dont need them sniffing my connection.

Turbo doesn't just compress HTML. It sends pages in a binary format much smaller than Apache gzipping can do. And it does compress images with losses, that's exactly the point. If you're on a slow connection, the loss of image quality is worth the sacrifice.
