ahh :( This brings back memories. I was in this Tsunami when I was only 6 years old and my brother was 3. We were on vacation there because it's where my parents were born and family and friends lived there. You have no idea what it's like. It was HORRIBLE. My dad badly hurt his leg and hand. One of their friends died. My mom, bro and me( my dad was still being hospitalized)were in the newspaper for making a fundraiser for kids living there.:) Now, all of us our are fine :)

When faced with worst of disasters, human mind fools ourself. We cling to our possessions, we try to not run till the end, we try to stand where we are cause we dont know what to do next., in the end we ignore the risk of our own lives. This is Sri Lanka Galle.. it's so horrifying and yes we will never know how the people who really faced it felt.. at the end of the video the woman is shouting for he son who maybe went out and is caught in the wave.. we can only assume... people cannot understand what happened suddenly.. THIS WAS THE SADDEST CLIP OF THE TSUNAMI IN SRI LANKA.. Cos you see the girls getting washed away from where they are hanging on to dear life. The worst affected was hambantota..

my father, aunt, a friend, two maids and two drivers got killed from the tsunami which struck Sri Lanka on 24th December, 2004. i was just 12 then. most of these people cannot understand how much we grieve even after 6 years. our loved ones will never come back into our lives. the saddest part is i never gave a final kiss to my dad, nor a goodbye. i never even saw his coffin. my relatives didn't want me to see my father dead. but we don't know where my aunt was burried.

In last 10 years, in almost every year there are tsunamis, tornados, hurracains ( Katrina, Ike, Ear, Wilma etc. ) floods ( in this year - Poland x 2, France, Pakistan, Czech Republic, Germany etc ), earthquakes. The world will come to end sooner as people think. I ve watched the news today -- Mexico under water, Pakistan under water, Hurricane on west coast of USA. That is sick ! !

My heart goes out to everyone who perished in this disaster. But this is a demonstration of the power of nature. Nature doesn't care, nature is stupid and brute force. There is no religious logic or reason behind this. None whatsoever, so don't kid yourself. Gargantuan amounts of power were stored in some rocks for around 200 years, the rocks snapped, the sea heaved above the rocks, and sent water to these places that killed hundreds of thousands. That's all. There is no God in this.

Alot of people think that a tsunami is just a "giant wave." That is not true, this video demonstrates that perfectly. Tsunamis are really oceanic floods. The front of the flood is like a wave, but after the front there is a giant flood of water that just keeps pouring into the coast until the entire wavelength of the tsunami has hit.
