I'm not Reed, I just coach him and makes these vids, but he does read these comments. Ha..yeah, Reed doesn't have his white pants anymore. He has had a few pairs of Xsjados, but he never stays with them long. Many people love them, so you probably will...the were a bit too bulky and too flexy for him. If he tried a big gap, the side of the soul plate would hit the ground and he would slip and fall. Great for negatives though! Good luck!
sick edit, what are these people talking about saying reed has no style?! i skate like a spaz because im still like beginner, reed has amazing style for that age
I've been teaching him about a year a half. Prior to that he skateboarded for 2 years and prior to that he inlined for about two years when he was like 8 and 9 years old. So, he knew that basics of skating when I started teaching him at age 11.
He wears a size 9. As soon as my internet is back on at home, I'm going to post a new street edit of him. You can see how much his style has improved.
Well...I think they are girl's pants. I'm not sure where he go them, but he doesn't wear white pants anymore. He dyed them orange after a few days, which you can see in the edit. White pants are sweet cause you can dye them any color.
Well...a assume that you can already soul and do true spins...if not learn those first. A hurricane soul (that's what we call it) is a little more than a true royal or true farfs (depending on your way). You could try learning those first. Make sure you jump higher than the ledge, whip your head around to spot landing. Don't lean away and kick at it...spin right ontop of it. True makios would help as well. Good luck!
I would learn it on a coping ledge first...then progress to a square or concrete ledge. Make sure your head isn't in front of your topside foot or you will stick. Try not to lean right or left but stay straight with your upperbody and bend your knee to lock on. Lots of people try to lean and then miss and fall hard. Try landing with one foot locked on and the other rolling ontop of the ledge until you get used to locking it. Once you get consistent locking, put your weight down on it.
I easily teach him anything he wants to learn and try to guide him in a natural progression of skills. You don't have to be an amazing skater to be a good teacher and not very amazing skater can teach. I have 10 years experience teaching at Woodward East and West and have learned how to teach from some amazing teachers.
thing is though he probaly gets tought like so much at woodward compared to everyone is which just meens hes lucky and to be honest hes good tricks but i don't see how you can say he has good style its alright but nothing near like aragon or morales.
Ok..first off...he didn't get good because of Woodward. Sure you might learn some things there, but he was already good before he went to Woodward. Secondly, he's only 12 so no one would expect him to have style like aragon or morales. He has great style for being so young. Most kids even if they have a decent trick vocab, have bad style...style comes with experience.
If you check the message boards, most people agree that he has amazing style for how young he his. You know grabbed 540s clearing huge gaps must not be stylish enough for you.
He had Richards that he traded for Xjados. Then he got Stockwell Xjados, which he sold and bought a smaller size of Aragon 2's. That's what he's riding now.
that was awesome!!!! great job reed! i cant wait to skate again. i have to start doing yardwork once my collar bone heals, so i can get money to go to woodward next year! i want to go soo bad.

He trades a lot, but his parents also buy him new ones about every 5 months. You would try a lot of skates if you could, right?

yea get smaller skates and some new clothes. it looks like his mother dressed him for church
TexasRollersUnited 3 years ago
So you have the say on how the whole world should dress? Get over it...Reed has his own style of dress and skating and it is sick!
brandigr2 3 years ago
where does he get the white pants, they look so sick. oh and reed is a beast

i was trying the fishbrain on this ledge today but i found it hard to lock on .
switchkid123 3 years ago
It's pretty hard on a square or concrete ledge. Find a round coping ledge to try it on first. It definitely takes some practice.
brandigr2 3 years ago
cheers "brandigr2" also how do you hardspin soul?
