It is not okay to kill spiders, you shouldn't because you are committing murder. Not to be mean, but you were very foolish to kill the spider, don't do it again.

It takes people like that many hundreds of lifetimes to 'get it'.
Next time just step on it if you have to kill it. Much quicker death than beating it to death with something soft. I'll bet that if you were to step on it and twist your foot a couple of times, you wouldn't have to do it 5 times to kill it. ;)
There is nothing wrong with killing spiders if they could be poisonous and you're not sure if they are or not, if they're definitely not poisonous then it's wrong.
"I didn't have time to get a cup because it would have ran away" and then it wouldn't have been bugging you anymore and everything would have been fine. So either you get a cup, come back and get rid of it without killing it, or it gets away and there's no 'spider danger' so all is well.

It's OK to kill them because if you don't they will surely bite your ass. If they're a poisonous variety, that could be a big problem. :) They're a total predator, dude. No love lost. Trust me.
Spiders and Dogs... To paraphrase Einstein, "everything is relative". Which indicates; If spiders were relative to good then killing them would be bad. Even truth itself is relative. When Pontius Pilate asked the question "What is truth?" even Jesus didn't venture and answer.
I generally don't kill anything if I can avoid it. I actually had a spider hanging around my car on the outside and inside for a couple days I'm kind of wondering where it went to.
Aww. I too try to avoid it... I only kill the ones I find in my room because the idea of them getting in my bed freaks me out... otherwise I let them roam.
I might be call a wimp, I do kill spiders, but if I'm near a door I will let it out. I think it is more out of habit that people see them and just react that way.
My father use to throw mice into a pail of water and let them drown, so killing a spider does not seem that bad to me. My father is what I call "Old School".
The man will even shot a dog if they are causing in trouble. Glad I am nothing like him in that regard!
You are so sweet! I'm scared of spiders and have mostly been a spider killer. However, another YouTuber (BradThunder) has turned me around and I try to catch them now and put them outside. It scares the heck out of me as you will see in a vid I will attach to you. ((HUGS)) Lisa
