In regards to toilet paper, they either sell it outside the bathrooms for about 5 rmb a pack or you have to bring your own tissue. Even public eateries, they don't have paper towels laying out in the open for you to grab, you'll have to ask for it (or use your own).

Of course, more "high class" areas have bathrooms that contain western style toilets and the squat toilets. And they have toilet paper readily to use next to you.

@bestamerica They don't use it. Insted of sitting on a toliet, they squat over the hole. When they are finished, they splash water on thier butt,and use thier hand to clean it, while the water is running on it.Then they wash thier hands very well. It makes more sence then smering thier ass with poop no?

When i was in China Hong kong, Shanghai, Chongqing, Beijing I visited about 10 puplic toilets and only 1 of them was like this one 9of 10 was normal as we use in Europe.
