  • Good, can't say I hate hit. And in no way trying to offend them, but I like the instrumental version better

  • the voices sounds a bit like whispers...but maybe thats what the singers are aiming at, rather than just singing normally?

  • Love \o/

  • yeah this song is good with vocal or with out nice job ladies :D

  • I think the voice gives a real contrasting sound.

    But yeah-it's very weird.

  • This is..... different. I think I just like instrumental jazz better.

  • It's tolerable, ok in it's own way. But I still -3 instrumental more, I dunno, I feel like the vocalist's voice is too girly for a song that makes me think: mafia!

  • Eh.. I prefer the instrumental but the vocal is classy in its own way.

  • I agree. The song is WAY WAY better without vocals. But it still sounds pretty good with vocals. ^.^

  • This song doesn't sound like it was actually made for/with vocals. The instrumental is good enough.

  • what is this i dont even know i didnt think this song could get bellow a 5/5 in my mind everything i know is a lie!

  • もはや朝のニュースしか浮かばない。もったいない。

  • 始めは違和感があるけど2,3回で慣れた

    癖があるからボーカルオンは人を選ぶか

  • These vocals are horrid. Seriously. I'm glad Baccano used the instrumental version instead. Good choice by them.

  • ...can't say I'm completely happy with this...after searching high and low for the vocals version..ah well

  • The vocals are a little too much. Some songs are better with just the instrumental without vocals. Not bad, but with the vocals, it kind of dims the song.

  • i love this song :)

  • i still like it. depends on the mood.

  • 良い曲だね

  • i don't care wat any of you all say, she kicked ass on this song.

  • her voice needs to be a little stronger and deeper

  • i think this is cool ^_^ interesting fact, Baccano is italian.

  • @JW95100 Baccano is also japanese for 'IMPOSSIBLE!'

  • @BoxHeadProd i did not know that. thnx :D

  • @JW95100 ^^

  • @BoxHeadProd ^_^ + ^_^ = XD

  • @BoxHeadProd

    *facepalm*

  • @BoxHeadProd wow u must be a japanese language master #1 thanks for informing us

  • @j5hfig98nfdj90 ..is this sarcasm?

  • @BoxHeadProd I thought that was bakana :L and doesn't that just mean no way..?

  • i think this is cool ^_^ interesting fact, Baccano is italian for ruckus.

  • i think this is cool ^_^

  • 否定的な意見が多いみたいだけどこれも好きだな

  • 声かわいいですね!

  • i never actually thought this song has vocals!

  • where can i found the album!?

  • Holy shit, the vocals almost scared me. O.O

  • I think someone should fandub this, someone who has an epic voice. Although awesome and fandub is kind of an oximoron, but one can hope, right?

  • it'd be better if the voice didnt sound so soft,, i prefer no vocals though xD

  • I like this version but I think it would be better if the girl was a little louder

  • Comment removed

  • It's not bad, but lead singer isn't very good. If she was better this might even eclipse the instrumental.

  • I guess it's because her voice or the way she sang isn't suited for the song.

  • Vocal => Please STFU.

  • Great song!!!!....

  • Love this song with or without vocals.

    >.> at least I love it more that J*S&I( I3ieB@r <- if you can't read those two hidden words, or one of them, then take a guess.

  • @blasiankid7x Justin Bieber or White guy you can see everyday on the street who can't dance worth shit and is basically and average guy sucking all the opportunity he can while it lasts. Stealing the hearts of good girls... and stupid ones.

  • I did not even know there was a vocal version,... now I know why. I'm sure she can sing maybe, but she does not sounds like she is singing here, just sounds like a whispering child.

  • @VykkDraygo115 I don't care what all you guys say I LOVE Baccano and the instrumental version they chose for the anime, but I like this version better.Don't get me wrong the instrumental version has gotta be one of the best anime openings ever,but....This song sounds WAY better with the vocals imo

  • @Rammstein027 I would have to disagree, the vocals are to much whisper and not enough singing. This may have worked with more of a full voice performance, the singer in this track is simply to subdued to fit the louder, livelier instruments. She feels out of place, and since they used the instrumental version for the show, I can infer that the makers caught that, too. However, if you prefer this version, please feel free to enjoy it while reading my very long response.

  • @VykkDraygo115 Don't worry about your comment being very long. Some of my comments are usually very long too XD Anyway,in a friendly and kindly way I would have to disagree.I've heard worse opening songs before trust me...Now they used the instrumental version for Baccano NOT cuz they probably felt she was "Out of place".Since Baccano took place in the 1930's they wanted the theme song to have that Jazz like feel for the anime.

  • lol.

  • Her voice is good, but not with this song. Wait, it's good when it gets tto the chorus.... But I'm still grateful, cause if she didn't come up with the song AT ALL, THEN where would we be?! There wouldn't even be an instumental!

  • 0.0 she a good singer jst ...... is good :D baccaon!

  • I love Baccano! and It's Opening

I just hate this, I mean the vocals don't suit it at all!!

You just gotta love it though, It's all nice at the start then BLAM, it literally blows up in your face!

  • lol man what's with this soft stuff. if you're going to do Jazz vocals you gotta be loud and proud and think of your voice just like another instrument not like a separate piece of the presentation. That's how singers from that time were able to pull off scatting(sp).

  • Not to be mean or anything, but this sounds like a person is fandubbing this with a cold...

  • 僕もOFFボーカル派だけど

    こっちもいいw

  • The song is good...but as the other comments says....the jazz is better with only instrumental, or other kind of music. The voice of the vocalist is nice, but not in a jazz song.

  • 海猫 日蓋し のなく 頃 に おいいし ごめん ね ははは!♪(´ε` ) Why didn't they use the words in the anime?

  • jazz in general i like without vocals. also the whispering like thing doesn't really suit jazz in my opinion, sounded better when they sang in a not whispering voice.

  • The lead signers' voice is too weak and soft for a Jazz number. Too little girl-ish, it kind of kills it :/

  • Oi speak up! sounds like someone having sex geez...

  • Sounds like the vocalist just inhaled a lot of helium.

  • I agree with everyone in saying it's better they used off vocals for the anime. The vocals aren't terrible... But they wouldn't really work for an anime opening. To me jazz sounds best instrumental anyways but... Some songs can pull off vocals well. Not really this one but... It def could be worse. It sounds to me like she's trying to sound more jazzy by being in a whispy hush... Just it's too much. Japanese isn't fantastic for it anyways.

  • From 1:15 to 1:28 is probably the most smooth singing of this.

Everything is kind of awkward sounding. But the vocals do get better as time goes by.

  • I also like this version, but yeah, the off vocal version fits better to the anime.

  • Sounds like she's losing her breath

  • opにはやっぱボーカル無しのがいいけど、こっちも好き(´ω` )声が可愛い*

  • ボーカル、有り無し関係なくても、

    この曲は、神曲だから、おk?

  • off vocal is much better^^

  • The off vocal version is way better.... Her voice is too "cutie" & soft. A voice for jazz should be smooth, deep, & maybe even a little seductive...Glad they used the off vocal version for the Baccano opening....

  • 僕はどっちも好きーかなぁwww

  • welp, I'm going to fandub this now. xD;

  • Its OK. They play awesome jazz music! they don't have to sing well.

  • Vocals probably would've been amazing if they were stronger.

  • It's gonna rain tonight <-- the only best vocal part. The rest...eck.

  • この歌好き^^ボ―カルあったほうがいい。

  • Sounds like she's trying to be too seductive and cute simultaneously. May just be that I'm american, but it needs to be smoother sounding and more natural. It's JAZZ.

Again, maybe it's because I'm american, buy if it was a guy singing I might like it more.

  • @mjnousak

The real problem with the vocals is that she sings them to fast.

There have been female Jazz singers and they have had similar voices to this, it's just they ALL sang slower than she did.

Then again this singer is placing a syllable to each beat atleast. And thinking about the Japanese language, if they condensed it more, it'd sound worse.

Try giving the song a listen with that in mind. After the first 30 seconds it fits the song pretty decently.

  • Someone like Isaac or Ladd would probably be better people to sing this song. I think ited sound really good with stronger vocals. Loud Smooth and more pronounced. What do you guys think?

  • I wish the person in the beginning tried less to sound cute, and more smooth

  • @FolstrimHori i agree

  • Is it just me or is the time for the song supposed to be a few seconds longer?

Since the non-vocals usually end around 4:17.

    This one ends at 4:08.

And it sounds a bit off on how it ends. Like they just cut it out or something. (Sorry for ranting. XD)

  • I actually enjoy the vocals here, but I am used to Japanese speaking/singing given my surroundings. Both versions are good.

  • meh, jazz always sounds better without vocals

And no insult to the Japanese...but their voice is not exactly fit for jazz

That said, this song is all kinds of awesome with or without vocals

  • @lol1143 well, I don't completely agree on that. I mean, Cowboy Bebop had lots of awesome jazz songs sung in japanese. But perhaps you mean "classic" jazz (don't really know how to call it... )

  • @lol1143 while agree that this song isnt the best ever showing off the japanese's jazz skills try out some of the stuff off of Cowboy Bebop, its pretty good......oh wait the ones i like are more blues than jazz.....nvm i agree completely.

  • @lol1143 Hey, some people have good voices for Jazz.... some

  • @lol1143 Its not that the japanese vocal's aren't fit for jazz. Its just this song. There are many songs that some people should not be allowed to sing. But really, I never thought the vocals for this song would be this bad. lol. Vocal variety ranges, there are good japanese jazz singers.

  • @lol1143 I must disagree- I only like japanese jass(usually sung by a guy)

This specific person isn't my fave........ No insult to them, but they're too quiet

I prefer no voice for this song- but it's still awesome

    (=)

  • @lol1143 ya i know wat you mean. but have you listened to eager love revenge. love is war remix. its by hatsune miku and there is a jazz one and its really awsome and the japanese fits it perfectly

  • the original doesn't have the same smooth style that the off-vocal which is probably why they used that instead of this

  • This wasn't very bad but I prefer off-vocal version too. Either way, this kind of music fits perfect with Baccano ^^

  • I think it sounds kind of cute! Sorry. But I will admit that I like the off-vocal version better...

  • ....Just have to say I'm glad the anime adopted the off-vocal version.

  • I feel you on this one, dude...

  • I have to say that I like the off-vocal version they used in Baccano as the opening.

  • こういうのは何やかんや語らずに素直に聴いて楽しむのが一番だと思う

  • @zibunnosekai damn moonspeak

  • When I saw the credits and saw that the song's artist was "Guns & Roses" I was thinking "Don't they do rock? must be a different Guns & Roses."

  • @ThePhantom2K9 the song's artist is actually paradise lunch and the song is called guns and roses

  • I am actually disgusted by the vocals.

For jazz/blues/swing you need a more powerfull dominant voice, also low and rough.

It has nothing to do that this comes from Japan!

There are other examples like Mai Ayamane.

Well, Micky mouse voices aren't fitting anyways. It sounds like a character song with the voice.

The instrumentals are pure awesome though.

  • yea i agree...some1 like Minimi(samurai champloo singer ED.) OR shikao suga(xxxholic singer) who actually hav experinces wit jazz music

  • @ItachiGT

Imagine it more like swing then blues. It's a fast paced song with a smoky, sultry voice instead of a low and rough one. Yeah the voice could be a little more dominant but that might have something to do with the recording, or the balance decided on by the band.

Calling it disgusting is a little harsh.

  • @ItachiGT Actually, for jazz, you DON'T need powerful, dominant, low, rough voices.

    You need to lurk more.

  • @ItachiGT shut the fuck up

  • i like the non vocal version better, for me the vocals are border line bearable.

  • Does anyone know where I can find the tenor saxophone music sheet?? D:

  • whats the bands name?! must hunt down!

  • Paradise Lunch, I believe. :D

  • Paradise Lunch

  • The song is nice as well as the singing but it would have been better if the singer had a slightly stronger voice when she sung.

  • The voice is kinda cute.

  • is there really vocals in this song?? O_O

  • Since this is japanese jazz , that's why the she sings like that.

    (:

  • I can't believe that the whole band was composed of women! They are totally awesome!

  • holy shit it was all women doing this the whole time!!

    wait.....

  • this is a great song

  • These breathy syrupy vocals are really growing on me.

  • are the vocals supposed to be that quiet?

  • useless vocals...

    meow :3

  • vocals could be a bit stronger, the background kind of overshadows it

  • love this song, don't like the singer though, makes my throat hurt just listening to it, but the music is great

  • REAL glad they used the off vocal version for the anime

  • I TOTALLY agree. I don't hate the singing but it would have been very unfitting for the anime.

  • @Twilight777Dawn yeah, or there would be to much to focus on in the opening. but this version is cooler

  • one shoudn't criticize them that way.. it's their style... we should let them be. i guess they were just experimenting... at least vocals add thought to the music... on retrospect, the original version also had a bit of vox in it... but i would agree that it wasbetter...

  • この曲大好き!!!!!

    バッカーノ!ラヴです☆

  • srry cant understand

  • I don't mind the vocal version, but I'm glad they used the off vocal version for the anime.

  • i know right

  • I can't say I hate the singer, too quiet, but the voice itself is nice sounding. Very pretty.

  • The vocal version sucks. It seems that the singers suffer asthma. Instrumental version is matchless.

  • I don't know you, but you're right. Hell, you are totally right.

  • いいじゃん

  • ちょっと、ボーカルがなぁ

    歌い方が、嫌だな;;

    皆で、ガヤガヤ歌った方がこれには合う

    「バッカーノ」って、馬鹿騒ぎって意味だろ?

  • :O vocals are ok! but i think they should change the... "type" of voice? maybe a guy would be awsome!! :D like....deep and sexy.. low.. lol ^__^"

  • I agree this song is in need for a lower type of voice from a dude. This can't be just expected from a girl. Well I personally don't like this for that reason. Though it's no use complaining here lol. Better do this at niconico douga.

  • yea. well i could TRY to fandub this. but, idk yt doesnt let me upload easily. grrrr. ima girl but my voice is sortve lower.

can u tell them? idk how to get through nico.

  • Sure have a blast if you're having fun while making this, it means it'll be worth it. I don't think it's youtube's fault unless you're using too many copyrighted stuff and your account in not in good terms, you might want to verify if your PC and internet are alright first (^ω^)

And to how to get to niconico douga, search google on how to subscribe to niconico surely if you want you'll find a way.

  • Sounds promising, I wanna hear it if you made it!

  • ボーカルないほうがいいと・・・思う

  • 私も

  • i think that if the volume level of the instruments were the same is the instrumental version wed have a real treat to listen to. you notice how the piano and bass line are quite embellished in the vocal version, if it were the same for the instrumental, id be a bit better.

of course, this is simply my opinion

  • I love the show and the song!!

  • Wow this sounds so strange but I kinda like it. The instrumental version still sounds better to me, but this version is still pretty fun to listen to :0

  • It's supposed to sound like one of those soft-singing 1930s girls. For obvious reasons.

  • ボーカルない方がバッカーノてっ感じがする

  • I honestly think that both versions of the song have their merits.

  • i'm not rrly fan of vocal version, particularly because the instruments alone makes the song more fun

  • I don't get why the vocals are as good as the instrumental xD maybe it's just me, but instrumental's way better.

  • p.s: not to mention that they can't really sing

  • I beg to differ, the vocal version is fucken great. Hearing a sexy ass Japanese voice sing in jazz is pure win.

Both instrumental and vocal versions of this song are great.

  • もうちょっと歌い方なんとかならないのか・・・

    名曲が台無し(´;ω;`)

  • No offense.... but the vocal version seriously scares me to death. XD Its like *high pitched whispers of doom*. ._. Like something out of the Jigoku Shoujo OST XD

  • this is actually amazing

  • Instrumental > Vocals

    Baccano ftw!

  • i don't like it. instrumental better.

  • 日本語より英語のほうがこの曲には似合うと思う。

  • yyyeaaaahhhhh!!!!

  • 同感

  • i like how i can hardly hear her voice over the music.

    no seriously, what the fuck.

  • Just doesn't have the same effect as the instrumental.

  • Agreed

  • I love the music very much !

  • 自分としてはボーカルなしの方が。

    歌詞が英語だったり大勢で歌ってたほうが

    バカ騒ぎって感じがするかも。

  • xD the vocals make it sound like a strip tease! xD

  • 俺はどちらかと言うとオフボーカルのほうがいいですね

    まさに大暴れって感じがしてw

  • ボーカルありになると雰囲気変わりますねぇ。

    私はありの方が好みかな。

  • I love Baccano its so awesome I wish they would license the Manga. Although I hate to sy it I can see why they cut out the vocals

  • It would be even better if someone translated the books.

  • The books are so awesome *-*

  • are they somewhere to be found on the internet?

  • correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't think they are on the net.

    I bought the books

  • hahaha! foolishness ! its the INTERWEB O.O theres gotta be a place

  • nah, it's called 'supportive-ness'
