Anyone else notice any parallels between the the early 90's and now? When I watch this it feels like all these people are talking about modern times, yet they're discussing events that took place nearly 20 years ago. The only difference is that most maintstream music today sounds so homogenized and generic.

It's difficult to find good unique music. There's tons of great stuff but you have to look hard. I'm just a high school student with 2 years left, and you always see kids with Nirvana shirts. It some respects, Nirvana is just as big as they were 18 years ago. There really have been three music revolutions. Rock N' Roll with The Beatles, Punk in 1977, and finally the new punk revolution in 1991. Things will happen soon enough. Everything happens for a reason.

I don't think he was quitting music. He just diddn't want to be in a band with Dave or Krist anymore. He wanted Nirvana to continue with other members to create something different. He went back and forth between firing them and wanting to continue with them. He said in an interview that when the same people do a job together for a long time there are limitations and the only way Nirvana could continue would be if they worked really hard on experimenting and studying different kinds of music.
