It was not a sonic boom, just a standard ILS approach. The F15s at Lakenheath were not allowed to break the sound barrier over land due to the old structures (ie castles).
Yeah they come in for an ILS landing and it is usually training. They do it several times. I used to work at RAF Lakenheath as a F-15 crew chief for the 48 AMXS. I asked a pilot one time why they don't just land the first time around. He said they come in, fly around, do it again (sometimes 5-6 times) before actually landing.
I can hear it before it gets to me. Not even supersonic.

Yes I agree with both prior comments, this F-15 was subsonic, it is impossible to hear "sonic boom" when flying at that speed.
