i have a 08 z400 and i have no problems what so ever. what kind of pipe should i get? i was thinking just a simple Hmf but i would like oppinions

hmf pipes are good in my opinion and they dont cost that much but if you have some money to spend on an exhaust my favorite are the yoshimura or if you want one that looks pretty cool maybe a Dr. D exhaust. those are just my opinions though so get what you want

z400 kfx400 dvx400 are all liquid cooled.Bad thing the hoses leak a lil and coolant stinks when it hits exhaust..

i have the 05 one.They are really good and fast quads.The hoses do leak when its cold.

i have an 03 and i bought aftermarket hoses off ebay and it fixed the leak problem

its actually not the hoses that leak its the overflow on the coolant tank when u do a wheelie

I have an HMF slip-on exhaust on my quad. I was just wondering if you think a Trinity end-cap would fit on the end of an HMF pipe? I just love the way the Trinity end caps look. Nice exhaust by the way...I'd get one in a heart beat if they made them for my quad.

theres a free way to make it sound like you got an exhaust on a stock z400. if you take the tip out on your stock pipe it actually makes it sound pretty good. you cant really hear it from a long ways away but it definitely made the bike a whole lot louder than stock. an like i said it sounded pretty good for just taken the tip out.

ye but u'll wreck the engine by not aving enough back pressure, thats why you have to buy aftermarket exhaust, and slip on is everything , you gain little to no power with slip ons.

thats all i want is a slip on cause the z400 already goes fast enough so i dont really need to add any more power. an do you know if i just get a hmf slip on for my z do i have to jet or not cause all i want it for is to make my 4wheeler loud.

i ran my z 400 a whole summer without the end cap and it never hurt a thing, and no you wont have to jet as long as you leave your airbox stock if you take of your airbox lid then you will have to jet up to a 165 main jet as long as your z is an 2005 or newer, i would recommend the DR D SS exhaust thats what i have on mine with a k&n and Stage 1 Hot Cams with a big gun CDI

i have a friend that has this same exhaust an its so loud. it makes a hmf not sound loud. to me its to loud but its a stage 4 trinity full exhaust. an its also on a predator 500

Yes, I had to rejet. But now it has an eddie carb...if you are looking into carbs, i strongly recommend edelbrock

hate to disagree with someone with as sick of a quad as yourself but edelbrock blows on quads i think they should stick with cars and trucks with those. three letters my friend FCR. prolly the best hop up part i put on my z yet
