great song. i'd add another tip - keep your thumb on the string 5th string at all times besides when you pick that last note. it keeps your hand stable and secure and gives a reference for muscle memory. so as soon as you pluck that thumb, swing it back on.

Patricks teaching dictates you use the webbing between your thumb and index finger to hit different strings. You are using you wrist to do the same thing.
