I'm young (19)..my 12 year old brother hates mainstream music now and I purposely let him get "brainwashed" until last year when I exposed him to Hip Hop...the real organic, quality Hip Hop and he despises hip "pop" now.. it opened his eyes to what it's all about..that's what would happen if Hip Hop got the same promotion as all the crap label push.
