What's with this commentator's continual use of the phrase "the little American"? Hell, everybody out there looked little compared to that mutton-chopped giant.
in the australian handicapped proffessional running circuit there is a 550m race. being able to run 1.43.47 and 44.26, does anyone have any idea what he could run for a 600m? i dare say he would have been the fastest 600m runner ever?

Thanks for the upload. He was truly a great champion, I don't think it's ever been done since, the 400 and 800m double. Requires a special athlete to do it, and Juantorena was really special.
I really respected this man for his athletic ability, and it was exiting to watch him; but being French, my ability to understand Spanish and Italian has also enabled me to detect more in the Language than the mere words; and if you ever get a chance to have a Spanish speaking person listen to him speak, it is apparent that Alberto Juantorena has embraced the epitome of the Communist Indoctrination, and this arrogance transcends further than the mere meaning of his words-

@mstrunn youd be one of the only ones that liked it, its too long an event to have them run that far in lanes, when you have to judge your pace on the other runners so much its not fair to the blokes in lane 8. They only brought it in because of the women being too weak and colliding and what not
@mstrunn i know they collide, thats what i said, and because the women didnt like the collisions back then they changed it to 300m cut in, but they realised it was stupid cause you cant run half of a race, where there are actually pace makers, in lanes, it is a sprint, but go out and run an 800 with the first lap by yourself and see how much slower it is than with others
