i think ken (or john) the animation is brilliant. It's the way to go. An animated shuttleworths would be great. Would work like the radio show. All the characters would come to life in an animation.I still find it hard to believe you do all those voices in the radio show.
Graham, I think that all of "the Shuttleworths" audio from Radio 4 would translate brilliantly into cartoons like this one- a whole episode per cartoon. You could get a nice slot on BBC2 with that! Judging by your 3000+ followers on twitter, people are ready to lap this up. Could be a top 10 DVD at Christmas too :)
this is a true classic - funny, poignant, melodic and wistful all at the same time - more Joan Chitty in the next batch of songs please John/Graham ! How about John really having an affair!
Yup this has it all. One of the things I really like about JS's songs is the underlying poignancy that anchors most of them down. Some are much more than the jolly comical dittys they initially appear to be. Extremely talented man.
Fellows is completely underrated and brilliantly talented. The material is fantastic - great characters, brilliantly played, and the songs are just ace. And all of it is so well detailed, and must take ages to record. So clever. And he's so prolific too.
Summat like a South Bank Show- or Late Show-type programme is surely long overdue.
Whenever anyone at worl asks me why I drink from mt Tordoff Construction mug it starts me off on a Fellows Appreciation Society speech.
Indeed. With that gruff voice of hers, she does sound a bit like a spinster aunt who just happens to share a house with a lady sergeant from the Royal Artillery.
It's fantastic the way that one man can create two distinct characters and such fantastic interplay between them. If I hadn't been told, I would never guess that sad John and slightly scary Joan are being played by the same person.
great song. its a bit tom waits
