Screw Ryu and Ken! Dan actually had to work his way up the SF ladder. How many SF minor characters have been forgotten in the past? Dozens. Birdie, Oro, Rolento... They all started like Dan, as a minor unimportant character, but unlike him they failed. Dan got where he is through pain, effort and dedication. Anyone can start as a protagonist but it takes a real fighter to start from the bottom and get to the top. Dan is the ultimate street fighter.

@JoEClove I wasn't saying nobody liked him :) Every character has fans, but of all the minor characters Dan is the one with the biggest fanbase. Rolento didn't appear much in later games, while Dan appeared in a lot of them, even on MvC2. I remember using Rolento, it was a good thing to have a character without the obligatory fireball but I was like "How do I Hadouken?" for a few minutes before figuring it out.

The character Dan was put into the game as a way of getting back at SNK for making a game that mimicked them in every way, and so they made Dan and made him totally rubbish, and its been the case in every game he has ever appeared in. However, in SFIV they have balanced him out a bit more, though he still leaves himself wide open to counters and blocks, and he still has an excessive amount of taunts :)

Trust me...in SF 4 it's hard to be good with him because his range is so limited and it's almost impossible to link his Super and Ultra moves to more than a 2 hit combo. I used to be a decent Dan player in Alpha 3 but versus a good...any other character u will see his limitations

i hadn't faced that problem yet online yet....and i have 1500 BP using the "worst character in the game".....and it easy to get more than a 2 hit combo with dan or anyone....its just the timing in this game is damn near impossible and they expect you chain things that seem unchainable....like a MP to a MP...and its all about learning the system because its very different from other street fighters....once you learn the system.....and you apply that with your Main....you can do pretty well
