  • St.Jennifer Jones, ( Phylis Lee Isley, 2Mar1919 -17Dec 2009),

    Do you think so !

    Young Jennifer Forever !

  • this is may lovely song bernadett soubirous born frans born to 1844 shes day in 16 april to astma by the sisters in nevers a lovely song tony

  • Really lovely song. I really like it.

  • For those who believe in God, no explanation is necessary.

For those who do not believe in God, no explanation is possible.

( no truer words have been spoken)

  • wonderful! I never really knew the english words, now I know. Hail Mary, full of grace!

  • ..excuse me you know what..??? all of you who don't believe in Mary is like walking dead in this earth.. The bible has a lot of teachings about Mary you atheist or whatever religion your worshiping which is false actually. Catholic are the right religion and the only original religion there is.. your bibles are wothless you just took it from us.. Such a poor life..

  • WOW! Great use of the movie, song and lyrics!! Absolutely great for someone who wants to learn the words of the song in English along the Latin version! ....Still, Pavoratti sang this song the best, but Como was definitely a close second!!

  • @Hound622 ......Know what is amazing too???.... the cinematography during the time of Black and White films, kind of better then some of the computer generated garbage of today......imo

  • Now there was an Ethiopian eunuch...reading the prophet Isaiah...[Philip] asked "do you understand what you are reading?" He replied "How can I unless someone guides me?" and he invited Philip to get in and sit beside him (Acts 8:30-31). Hence, this reinforces my belief that the Catholic Church has the authority to guide each member of the church in interpreting the Bible.

  • we also ask her to intercede befor Christ for us. For what would a son not do for his Mother. Lastly, The Catholic Church was first mentioned in early writings around the year 73 AD. And other than the Jewish faith was the only other Christian faith. However the Jews later changed their mass traditions that were kept by the Catholic faith. Thank heavens we have those who's church was created over 1500 years after the Catholic Churchs. The Pentecostal church was created in Topeka Kansas in 1958.

  • I think touretteman spanked hockeyrulesus in his less than educated response. Keep in mind that Mary is NOT worshipped by the Catholic Church. She is seen as the Mother of Christ, The wife of God, and our mother also. She gives birth to the fourth covenant between man and God. As she carried Christ she is another version of the Ark of the Covenant. When we pray a prayer like the rosary we are doing so by her request made at Fatima. This event is recorded in historical photos as well as other.

  • Wow I am disappointed. I had no idea this song was about Mary. There was only one person who walked this earth who was sacred and that was Yeshua. His mother is no more sacred than you or I. We ALL fall short. People were not worshiping her back then. She became the Lord's disciple preaching the Word just like the others after his ascension into heaven and was filled with his Holy Spirit in the upper room. She even called him Lord. I pray that you repent.

  • This serene and celestial musical piece is so beautiful and a fitting tribute of human ingenuity to the Mother of God, the blessed Virgin Mary. He who loves Jesus must likewise love the one he loves, no less than her mother Mary, who actually is the first Christian disciple by submitting herself to the will of God. Here in the Philippines the great devotion to Mary is so prevalent among Catholics. We feel blessed to be he only predominantly Catholic/Christian nation in Asia.

  • Mary is a "born again" Christian who received the Holy Spirit at the Pentecost and spoke in tongues 2000 years before Pentecostals got the gift. (Acts 1:14, 2:3) She knows how to pray - yes even in tongues :-)

  • Mary is the Mother of Jesus and the Mother of all of us even though it was Christ alone who reposed on her knees . . . If he is ours, we ought to be in his situation; there where he is, we ought also to be and all that he has ought to be ours, and his mother is also our mother. (Luther's Sermon, Christmas, 1529).

  • Luther gives the Blessed Virgin the exalted position of "Spiritual Mother" for Christians: It is the consolation and the superabundant goodness of God, that man is able to exult in such a treasure. Mary is his true Mother .. (Sermon, Christmas, 1522)

  • ". . . in the resolutions of the 95 theses Luther rejects every blasphemy against the Virgin, and thinks that one should ask for pardon for any evil said or thought against her." (Ref: Wm. J. Cole, "Was Luther a Devotee of Mary?" in Marian Studies 1970, p. 116:)

  • ". . . she is rightly called not only the mother of the man, but also the Mother of God. . . . it is certain that Mary is the Mother of the real and true God."

Ref: Sermon on John 14. 16: Luther's Works (St. Louis, ed. Jaroslav, Pelican, Concordia. vol. 24. p. 107)

  • She is full of grace, proclaimed to be entirely without sin- something exceedingly great. For God's grace fills her with everything good and makes her devoid of all evil. (Personal {"Little"} Prayer Book, 1522).Martin Luther

  • Martin Luther had the belief of Mary's Immaculate Conception, Luther's words follow: It is a sweet and pious belief that the infusion of Mary's soul was effected without original sin; so that in the very infusion of her soul she was also purified from original sin and adorned with God's gifts, receiving a pure soul infused by God; thus from the first moment she began to live she was free from all sin" (Sermon: "On the Day of the Conception of the Mother of God," 1527).

  • @freddietonton Thats Martin Luther, not the word of God.

  • Comment removed

  • @freddietonton "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish [ought] from it,....." Deuteronomy 4:2. Follow men if you wish. But know you are very wrong.

  • @MrGrafted I have faith in the Immaculate Conception. Faith is to believe what you do not see; and the reward of this faith is to see what you believe. Faith does not not require proof. Remember Thomas? Thomas the Apostle, a disciple of Jesus who doubted Jesus' resurrection and demanded to feel Jesus' wounds before being convinced (John 20:24-29), "Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

  • @freddietonton John 18:32 (This fulfilled Jesus' prediction about the way he would die.) Jesus told Thomas he would die! No where from the word of God is there any such thing. Infact There is no biblical support or scriptural basis for the Immaculate Conception of Mary doctrine. Only Jesus Christ was immaculately conceived, born of a virgin, and born without sin. He was the only human being to live a sinless life. Read the Bible and follow Jesus. Not false unbiblical doctrine.

  • @MrGrafted Its about resurrection, not death. This Immaculate Conception dogma is the teaching of the Catholic Church founded by Jesus (Mat 16:18). And biblically suppported by "And as they passed through the cities, they delivered unto them the decrees [dogmata] for to keep, that were decreed by the apostles and ancients who were at Jerusalem" (Acts 16:4).

  • @MrGrafted The very essence of Christianity is the resurrection of Christ, not death. Either way, death or resurrection, it boils down to how Jesus defined faith, believing without seeing. Many Christians now regardless of race believe in Jesus although they have not seen Him. Seeing is not a pre-requisite of faith.

  • @MrGrafted This was the second time Jesus appeared before the apostles, and this time Thomas was present to see from himself that Christ has risen. Read the bible.

  • @MrGrafted LET IT BE KNOWN: Here are the words of Professor Peter Flint, the non-Catholic scholar who translated the only English version of the Dead Sea Scrolls which won FIRST PRIZE from the Washington Biblical Archeology association:

"Without the CATHOLIC CHURCH you have no Bible, just a bunch of books and letters. With the Church you have the Bible!"

Who needs to read the bible?

  • @MrGrafted (Acts 15-16) Paul and Barnabus went to Jerusalem to settle the circumcision issue. "As they (Paul and Timothy) went through the towns they delivered to the believers the rules decided upon by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem, and they told them to obey those rules." (Acts 16:3) This is a good example of the Lord using the "Church" to decide on matters of interpretation.

  • @MrGrafted Now there was an Ethiopian eunuch...reading the prophet Isaiah...[Philip] asked "do you understand what you are reading?" He replied "How can I unless someone guides me?" and he invited Philip to get in and sit beside him (Acts 8:30-31). This reinforces my belief that the Catholic Church rightfully has the authority to guide each member of the church in interpreting the Bible, and not to encourage private interpretation thereof which causes division in the church.

  • @MrGrafted Even the word Bible is a Catholic word. Surprisingly, the word "Bible" is not in the Bible. It means books from the Greek word βυβλος-byblos meaning "papyrus", from the ancient Phoenician city of Byblos which exported papyrus, the "paper" of the day. We love the Bible. Honest!

  • @MrGrafted John 20:24 "Now Thomas, one of the twelve, who is called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him: We have seen the Lord. But he said to them: Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails and put my finger into the place of the nails and put my hand into his side, I will not believe."

Read carefully and meditatate on the meaning of this passages in relation to how faith should be.

  • @MrGrafted Luke6: 41 And why do you see the mote in your brother's eye: but the beam that is in your own eye you consider not? 42 Or how can you say to your brother: Brother, let me pull the mote out of your eye, when you yourself see not the beam in your own eye? Hypocrite, cast first the beam out of your own eye"

  • @freddietonton You may believe that, just back your unbiblical doctrines up with the word of God. If you can't why on earth would you beliveve thats clearly not true. You have no biblical support or scriptural basis for the Assumption of Mary doctrine.

  • @MrGrafted The Holy Spirit will not overshadow Mary's body [Luke 1:35], assuming without admitting it is corrupted by sin and, thereafter, conceived the Son of God; besides, God will not choose a sinful woman to bear His only-begotten son, with whom He is well-delighted [Matthew 3:17]. Surely, God will choose the best among His creatures and Mary was "blessed among all women” [Luke 1:28]; in other words, she stood out among the rest of her own kind.

  • @MrGrafted Where can you find the verse in the bible which says it is the ONLY authority insofar as the word of God is concerned?

  • @MrGrafted We know that Mary "Magnifies the Lord" (Lk 1:46) If she had sin, she could not magnify him. She would only obscure him, like a magnifying glass with dirt smudged on it.

  • @MrGrafted Ironically, right from the the Father of reformation. Nowhere in the Bible does it say the Bible ALONE is the only authority. However, the Bible does say that Jesus founded his Church and gave it full authority. (Mat 16:18). “But there are also many other things which Jesus did which if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written.” [John 21:25] . I believe, the immaculate conception/Assumption fits into this

  • Luther further claims:

One should honor Mary as she herself wished and as she expressed it in the Magnificat. She praised God for his deeds. How then can we praise her? The true honor of Mary is the honor of God, the praise of God's grace . . . Mary is nothing for the sake of herself, but for the sake of Christ . . . Mary does not wish that we come to her, but through her to God. (Explanation of the Magnificat, 1521)

  • The Perpetual Virginity of Mary is a Roman Catholic belief. It states that Mary remained a virgin throughout her entire life. There is no biblical support or scriptural basis for the Perpetual Virginity doctrine. In fact, in several places in Scripture, the Bible names the children of Joseph and Mary, calling them Jesus' brothers.Jesus's blood family were James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas. He had sisters too. Matthew 13:55 Matthew 27:56 Mark 3:31 Mark 6:3. Get out her of this acult.

  • I love this song. Hail to the Mother of God. Mary ever virgin queen of the universe pray for us. Thank you my mummy.

  • Ave Maria is definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Regardless of your religious or non-religious beliefs, this song is extremely soothing (like a lullaby). Please, keep negative remarks to yourself! Enjoy the beauty!!! The actress in the movie above is Jennifer Jones (and the movie is very touching and powerful). LRG

  • Why does everyone talk about God on every Ave Maria song I come across? I don't get it... (not very religious so I don't have a clue).. Also they talk about Muslims or something?

  • FOR THOSE OF US WHO BELIEVE IN GOD NO EXPLANATION IS NECESSARY. FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD NO EXPLANATION IS POSSIBLE . SO LEAVE US ALONE , AND GO IN PEACE YOU POOR SOULS .

  • We must Pray, Pray for the World and for eachother this is what Mary want,s of us to Pray to Son and to Her to Love all God,s Children everywere.

  • @aubhar Hi Bill Maher! Whatever begins to exist has a cause of its existence. If you believe in the "Big Bang Theory", as I do, You have to believe the matter and anti matter that caused the Big Bang came from somewhere. If not you must believe this material just "Always existed". That sounds the same as people that claim God just always existed, No? Isn't that crazy? Your God is Science, but science can't explain everything my friend. Peace out G string!!!

  • @aubhar I was going to call you a piece of shit for not believing, but you're not.... You're the whole fucking turd!

  • @aubhar Yes but where is the harm in that. Love your neighbour is a good dictum to live by and listening to beautiful music is no hardship to Christian, Jew, Muslim or dissenter.

  • Please stop with all the boring God stuff. It's not even about the same Maria

It's Schubert and The Lady in the Lake

Have a day off and just enjoy yourself for once

    Relax!!

  • @touretteman Give the man a cigar!!! Schubert wrote the music to a poem by Sir Walter Scott that include many references to the Latin "Ave Maria" prayer. This, no doubt, inspired an unknown person to fit the Latin "Ave Maria" prayer text to Schubert's notes. The adapted Latin words of Ave Maria prayer ( Hail Mary ) is now the version most commonly performed with the music of Schubert.

I'm fine, thank you and very relaxed! LOL

  • @hockeyrulesus ...and once again knowledge wins the day, well explained and a beautiful upload. Not a christian but I do have a very open mind which respects all faiths, just doesn,t embrace them all or any....yet anyway.

  • @touretteman GOD Is not boring and u dont have to stop thinking about him to be relaxed he is actually the one who gives u peace. thank you

  • @touretteman Amen!

  • @touretteman : Not the same words, kid. Guess you don’t know Latin or German.

  • Thank you for the translation. May this be the last thing I hear as I die. p.s Placido Domingo sang this at Ted Kennedy's funeral.. wonderful

  • "...for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." -Luke 17:21

Catholic Teachings About Mary Nowhere Found in the Scriptures!

    Repent!

  • @MrGrafted They are found in scripture and in the sacred oral tradition given to us by the Apostles. But, nice try any way. Repent!!!

  • @hockeyrulesus No my freind, there wasn't any trying involved. Just the truth sadly.

There is NoCatholic Teachings About Mary in the Bible, Infact the Bibles tells you differently! Jesus Himself declared that He is the ONLY way to heaven: ... the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world." 1 John 4:14 ... Certainly, Peter knew that Jesus, not Mary, was the Savior. Peter glorified Jesus as the Savior. REPENT!

  • @MrGrafted It's all their and the only sad thing is Protestants don't see it, only Christians. Yes, Jesus is the Savior!! You got that part right. Where do you find Catholic teachings on Mary as the Savior? Besides from Protestant Propaganda Ministers. Mary is the Mother of Our God. " And whence is this to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" (Luke 1:43) "for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed."(Luke 1:48) Do Reformers call Her "Blessed Mother"? Who Does?

  • @hockeyrulesus portestants or christians............:/

  • @MrGrafted Hate to burst your bubble, but Mary was placed first among all women and men. Whatever she asked of Him, He could not refuse her. As reference, look back at the wedding at Caana. Furthermore, just before Jesus died, He said to Mary, "Woman, behold your son." And to John, He said, "Son, behold your Mother." In essence, what Jesus was telling us is that His mother became our mother. So that whatever, Mary asked of Jesus, He could not refuse. And she would be our advocate.

  • @lougalou04 The Immaculate Conception is a doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, the Immaculate Conception refers to the sinless state of Mary. Pope Pius IX proclaimed this doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of Mary on December 8, 1854.Tradition will not save you. There is no biblical support or scriptural basis for the Immaculate Conception of Mary doctrine. Mary, although favored of God, was an ordinary human being. According to Scripture

  • @MrGrafted Well if God the Father chose Mary to be the Mother of our dearly beloved Lord than she was no ordinary human being. Furthermore, if Jesus, on the cross, declared her to be our Advocate, than she was no ordinary human being. Lastly, if you understand what the Immaculate Conception is all about, namely, that God impregnated Mary, than she is no ordinary human being. "Immaculate Mary, your name we proclaim. Ave, Ave, Ave, Maria. Ave, Ave, Ave Maria!"

  • @lougalou04 Back your cliams up with the word of God Not man-made tradition mate. "...if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:" 1 John 2:14.. Galatians 4:4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born[a] of a woman, born under the law.

  • @lougalou04 The Bible never elevates Mary to the position of mediatrix, but it does ordain Jesus as the one and only mediator:, not Mary, is the only supernatural Helper:The Bible calls no one, including Mary, a "benefactress." Bless you. I'll pray that God softens your heart Bud.

  • @MrGrafted My heart is softened, Brother, and it is open to the truth. Let's live and let live, okay?

  • @lougalou04 I'm not judgeing you. Follow Jesus friend, not Man made religion. God Bless you ougalou04.

  • @MrGrafted See John 1. Read. it. ALL come through Christ and ALL will return the same way. And were Moses and Ejijah in glorified bodied with Christ 'spooks' ? I do read the bible. You should to. May God bless truly. I mrean tha and bless your family :-)

  • @Gullytale Thats is not "John 1" my friend, Have another look if needs be. Also your not make much sence, that is not scripture either. No offence. Bless you friend.

  • Holy Mary Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ pray for us here on earth, please ask your loving son to keep our world in his merciful heart and spare us from all evil.

  • "Hail Holy Queen". Immaculate heart of Mary. Pray for us.

  • Thank you for this.
