i just baught a baby gator put some water in his big aquarium and a little thingy for him to sit on when he's tired of staying in the water. i chopped a raw piece of stake into little pieces, threw them for the croc, but he didn't eat them. does anyone have any idea of what i should feed him? (something handy). is feeding him raw steak bad for him? i know crocs eat shit and they could survive the worst but maybe steak isn't their thing!?

what are you doing with something like that in the first place? you should have done a substantial amount of research on an animal before trying to make it a "pet". its only fair to the humans and animals surrounding it and the gator itself.

i'm ok now, i almost got it all, fianlly. at the beginning, i was told by the pet shop that it would eat raw steak, i tried it but it didn't work. so the shop owner lost my trust.

secondly, i was seeking some advice from aligator owners, becuase, logically, they would know best from experience. this would save me some time in searching and filtering info, right?.. buying this croc was the stupidest thing that i've ever done :) but i'm enjoying it as well as my guests.

Contrary to what you may have heard, zoos do not have spare empty alligator habitats on hand. They aren't waiting for your call so that they can finally fill them up with something. Any alligator habitats they have are likely occupied, and they probably aren't keen on mixing in new critters...

It is not very likely that you will find a zoo willing to take your animal.

I saw this amazing Nat Geog doc about a swamp in Georgia where they live, called Okifinoki, and this guy goes in and gets neck deeps in water with the wild aligators in mating time. its amazing, you should check it out on alluc . org.
