  • How can docking not be abuse?? When your intentionally removing a part of an animal that they were born with for aesthetic reasons, that would be cruelty. You know how you prevent "dew claws" from being broken on fences and broken while playing?? You monitor your dog...just like you do when you have kids. It's called being a good pet owner. And If I told you that cutting off your kids ears would make her look better..would you do it. I'm guessing the answer to that would be no.

  • to argue about what dogs should and shouldnt have done to it is like telling a human he should or shouldnt get peirceing or tatoos, if its done properly its not an isue, i never said dogs breaking there tails is an isue thats just an excuse stupid people use to justify there decision@xxjonkoxx humans are sometimes born with tails FYI doctors also amputate with no anesthesia because an newborn child should not have opiods or pain killers in their system, its not a big deal leave it to the pros

  • @SW20mr2mikey

It's not like the dog asks you to cut of the tail. people who got piercings/tattoos is a totally different thing.

I get what you mean, It doesn't hurt if done professionally.

But atleast have a reason to do so, many people do it for looks.

And it's certainly a big deal if there is no reason to remove a body part.

There are better reasons, like for hunting dogs or any "working" dog.

  • DOCKING TAILS AND CUTTING EARS ARE NOT ABUSE, FOCUS ON THE REAL ABUSERS, DOG FIGHTERS AND ABUSIVE OWNERS,

  • someone just commented on another video saying they put rubber bands on the tails and they said they fell off a few days later.

  • Amputating dogs tails is CRUELTY. Don't buy dogs with "docked tails" or "dew claws removed" and don't pay someone to torture your dog, either...

  • @Chadolution its not cruelty dew claws need to be removed!!!!! do u know the pain an animal goes through when it breaks a dew claw from jumping on a fence or playing fetch? smarten up cry baby humans are smarter than you think, we wouldnt amputate something for no good reason

  • How sad

  • i dont know how somebody can just think of doing this with rubber band. Did he ever try it on a finger or anything else. after few minutes the pain would already hard to endure.

  • poor dog, the pain was probably so big to endure :( ca prends des ostie de malades mental pour faire ca :(

  • That's so sad:(

  • This is so horrible! I'm in a family off complete animal lovers. My dad couldn't even kill a rat! We love all animals. We are raising 2 dogs and one dog is the mother of three 2 week old pups. :) One will be my puppy, and the other two we have found safe, secure, and loving homes for. We believe in the tail docking resistance!!! SAVE THE PUPPIES TAILS

  • wait..Rubberbands???That's discusting!!Were the owners arrested for animal abuse?!

  • @TheDestane Unfortunately the owners were not charged with cruelty. In our opinion, he should have been. He dropped the litter of puppies off at the shelter (thank goodness), and left before anyone could determine his identity.

  • @PAWSofHertfordCounty w/e pussies

  • @TheDestane lol no? what abuse...???

  • You are all such asholes you don't do that to dogs what the he'll your you honking to put a rubberband o. A dogs tail to let the blood just not flow threw the tail that is animal cruelty you bunch of idiots and how could you let that last puppy get so sick?and apparently you are the owners because how could you get video like that huh stupid idiots!!!

  • @Alexmartin9495 We are a 100% volunteer humane society that works in the county shelter to provide vet care, spay/neuter/ & more humane conditions for the animals. We have found homes for 5,000 homeless shelter dogs/cats in the past 4.5 yrs. The purpose of this video is educate the public about animal cruelty. We took the time to save this puppy's life and find it a good home. I hope this helps clear things up for you. Thank you for watching our video.

  • This is awful. But when bringing pups to the vet to dock a tail is normal. It doesn't affect the puppy. I have three pups. Two with docked tails and one without, and they're all healthy dogs :)

  • yay!! i c a twilight fan!! u used bella's lullaby lols-

anyways, i believe ppl should stop docking puppies tails cause its not nice

at first, i thought tht the docked tails was wat the puppies had since they were born. i was wrong!!

  • so did you help the dog

  • @mrjoshdalove

Thank you for inquiring. This particular puppy was saved. His nub was completely removed by a veterinarian, and he was adopted. His name is Bob!

  • Well that's y you dont use rubber bands!! Done right the tails are snipped off at 5-7 days not when their eyes are all open and their movin all over the place. Our doberman's tail was docked RIGHT and he never had the infection and fever and all that. This is just a case of someone not knowing what their doing!

  • these poor babies.

  • At first i didnt have a problem with docking the tails but now i don i would take my dog to a vet to get it docked..go through less paib

  • @bethanyharrison98 as long as you dont use rubberbands like these idiots -.-

  • Can't Hold In The Tears @Rafamix100 Your Right. Poor Last Doggy :(

  • they should put rubberbands on the owners dick and let that happen to him fucking son of a bitch. poor dog :,(

  • This was definitely an incidence of animal abuse. The dog in this video was far too old to have its tail docked. Docking should be done when the animal is about 3 days old. Tail docking can be done humanely if it's performed by an expert who knows what he/she is doing. Like it or not, docking is the standard for some breeds. Fortunately, this is gradually starting to change. For instance, more Boxer owners are opting not to crop ears which is far more dangerous than tail docking.

  • It sickens me that my own species is capable of doing things like that to such sweet helpless creatures. It really makes me angry.

  • Yes this is super sad !!!!, but im not aganst docking tail, the guy that did that is stupid and mest up tho, I would never dock my own tails i would bring them to the vet !

  • so was the dogs tail surgically removed or what?

  • @booyakaluke

Thanks for your comment. Yes, the dog's tail was surgically removed, and he has been adopted into a wonderful home. His name is "Bob." :-)

  • what happenend to the dogs tail was it surgically removed or wat

  • was this song used in Twilight or something? sounds like it... But I just hate people when they do that.

  • Omg i started crying...My aussie shepherds tail is suppose to be docked bc he is a herding breed but i could never ever even through a vet let it be done. It should be illegal.

  • aw just look at that puppies eyes.. @ 1;05.. thats so sad.. omg! makes my heart feel weak..

  • look at the puppy's sad face it makes wanna put a rubberband on the owners neck

  • I can understand docking when you're protecting a working dog or if you have a dog prone to breaking its tail. Otherwise I don't see any reason except that people are either being lazy, or they only have the dog to promote their own ego.

If they are going to dock, they should do it when the puppy is young and with someone who knows what they're doing.

  • omg that is so bad that has just made my day that, i agree WHY must this happen they dont do anything to us and i think it should be ilegal everywhere its bloody disgusting

  • You can use a LAMB ring on any dog and it will drop off after about 5 or 6 days other than that a CLEAN BRAND NEW RAZOR BLADE will do the job perfect when the dog's are 3 day's old then just give them back to there MOTHER and she will clean them.

    UK

  • I only support tail-docking if the dog is showed, used for hunting, or is used for hunting.

And please people, if you don't know what you are doing, please don't breed.

  • SEE THEIR STOMACH THEY ARE FULL OF FOOD

  • I agree that this is the wrong way to do it, but I think that docking tails does still have a use. I know most people think that it doesn't but that's simply because they have never seen a dog that needs it. It is important for working, sporting, and especially herding dogs. It prevents accidents and just so you know if you dog's tail gets broken they usually have to amputate it because it was unable to be saved I am not saying this in a mean way if it came across like that just for information

  • tail docking is fkin stupid!!!!!!!

y would anyone cut circulation from a poor little puppys tail??

    that is just fkin disgusting!!!!!

  • this is a video of one very stupid person with an ovious lack of knowledge on how things should be done. Yes its disturding, but I dont think every tail docking should be judged against this situation and out come.

  • I still think elastration is more humane snipping off the tail. If done properly, it should fall off and heal normally with minimal discomfort at wearing the band at first. This is very commonplace with animals like sheep to prevent them from getting fly blown. However, as these dogs are likely just another household pet and not a working dog, I don't think it's necessary.

  • every dog should have a tail to tell

  • isnt it ok to use rubberbands b4 they are 3days old dso the tail can fall off???...just asking

  • People claim dogs can hurt there tails and even break it when they leave it on.

So be it! I rather have my dog break his tail then totally removing it.

People think the docked ears and tails make the dog look cooler and more violent!

I just hate it, and the people who do it, should be ashamed of themself.

My jack russel has it's tail and compared to other docked jack's, my dog is by far the better looking one.

Beautifull curfed tails, how can you remove them!???

  • We agree - completely. The worst is when people use crude methods to dock tails - like the rubber bands.

Docking is a method that began years ago so that working dogs could be identified. Now it is about cosmetics -- and breed standards.

  • @PAWSofHertfordCounty so stupid

  • @xxjonkoxx Well said, i completely agree with you. Personally i'm also completely against anything to make them not entire. I wouldn't go to the doctors to be muted(or what ever you call it) to give me less chance of getting cancer, and nor would a dog if it could only choose, but humand think they have a right to decide. A dog is born with every one of its beautiful features for a reason, but the cruelty of humans has no bounds )=

  • @xxjonkoxx another dumass jerk crybaby, "ya lets amputate the dog cause it looks kool" noone does that budy evryone has a reason and an opinion

  • @SW20mr2mikey

Stop talking, docking the tale of a dog is just sad, and it's true, I might be a little crybaby if its about cutting of ears and tails for no reasons.

There is simply no reason to do it, unless a doctor tells you to.

You have simply no idea what you are talking about, pain is part of life, I broke my leg, and know how much pain that causes, yet I dont see people cutting of their legs bcuz there might be a chance that you break the leg, dont even respond back, you are sad.

  • @xxjonkoxx look at this video as an example, every dog has a docked tail, but yet they are play fighting with eatchother, they are not in pain you can tell, however, the one with the tail that was still partley atatched was in incredible pain, you can tell just by looking at its face, the ignorance of the person doing the docking is to blame, it should have been done profetionally or surgically to say the least,

  • Why do people do tail docking? I dont understund why...

Isnt the tail one of THE most important body parts for a dog? They use it to show emotions.

  • This video is a real eye opener.

I am doing an investative project on whether tail docking is necessary or cosmetic :) Is it ok if i use this video in my discussion?

  • I'm sorry it took so long for me to see your comment. It's perfectly okay to use this video in your discussion. We are glad to bring awareness to this problem! Let us know how your discussion goes (or went).

  • @karagain This puppy is too old to do this procedure on. The is not the correct way and you should not use it as an example of a docking. Docking takes place at 2-3 days of age.

  • Thank you for your comment. We don't get it either... some people have no concept that animals feel pain and have emotions. Thank you for rescuing your pups!!!! There is nothing like the love of a rescued pet!

  • I just rescued a little dog that my vet thinks is 2 years old; she looks to be chijuaja and maybe some terrier...Jack Russel or Rat...but her tail is docked. So sad. I have an Australian Shepherd (also rescue) that HAS her tail and it's so pretty! I just don't get people...

  • that is really bad but the dogs look to old to be docked. i thought they had to be days old. these dogs look weeks old. Why do they use elastic bands. i think it's really bad but i do think they should be docked. my dog had her tail amputated because it was long and used to hit it on everything , walls, tables, doors etc.

hope you dont have to put up with that again. hope she/he is better. xxxx
