  • @derallf03 its no a english song its a scottish so wrote by rabbie (robbie) burns

  • This is a very good old english song, I like it!

  • It's funny that a Lowland Scottish tune has become so 'Celtic'. The fusion of Lowland and Highland cultures is the product of a pack of lies, which many Scots don't even know.

  • @Gustaveleloup

Exactly. I honestly don't know what to say when I see Scots-Canadians/Scots-Americans ranting and raving about Scots Gaelic being their native tongue, when undoubtedly a sizeable number would have come from the lowlands and they'd have spoken Scots. Scotland is more divided than we realise, and it always has been. Just look at the sectarian nonsense down in Glasgow, which notably has connotations of Irish/Scots racial tensions. So much for "Celtic Connections".

  • rest in peace grandfather

  • You are correct, in the beginning you had English Puritans and Scots-Irish immigrants, the latter could fight and started the Revolution, John Paul Jones was a British Sea Captain born in Scotland.

  • @locheelad2 Wow your really good at history! Are you like a professor? And im Scottish and Irsih! Yay me! lol

  • No I screwed up and went musical in 60's instead of going to school. Find "How the Scot's invented the Modern World" by Arthur Herman, if your Scots and Irish you will love it, and all Americans learn, Jefferson's father was a Scot. lol

  • its a figure of speech u arsehole

  • bagpipes are irish

  • Since when were they Irish. Bagpipes are Scottish.

  • @5pid3y: wow, who taught you history?..

  • lol, i'm just trollin'

  • How do you march to battle with Irish bagpipes, they are played while sitting down, it would look like the spastic army. Laugh my Celtic cousin, as modern Scotland is made up of 1/4 Irish, HAPPY HOGMANAY.

  • @5pid3y uillean pipes are irish

    bagpipes are prevalent in scotland

though they're not just a scottish thing, they are believed to have been played in medieval france too for example

  • @christovski1 While Uillean pipes are in fact an irish thing, traditionally the irish played the Irish War Pipes, which were not much different from their bigger scottish brothers. the irish war pipes traditionally had 2 drones; a tenor and a bass, and were just a little quieter than the GHB's. At some point or another, one of the queens of england ruled that the irish could no longer play the war pipes, and so now they play the lap pipes. very few people play the IWP's anymore.

  • @AXFE59 BagPipes are not scottish exclusive... We also have it in Portugal with a diferent sound and appearence. It´s called "Gaita de FolesTransmontana". And wen i hear them i allso get goosebumps... I'm fammiliar with you history and i understand why you'r proud. Keep on...

  • @nfisgreat Aye, it be True, laddie.

  • @nfisgreat <---- Scotsman True Blooded, I get the same feeling. So Aye maybe it tis true but who gies a tosh eh?

  • @nfisgreat
