  • jup if you dont know anything about rc just dont begin with a nitro but just with an elecktric car

  • Lean the high speed out alittle bit and you'll pop a wheelie easily, and you transmission is shifting a bit late

  • @bobcheese427 i got it ideling good years ago, thanks anyways

  • its a traxxas thats whats wrong with it!

  • Just richen it up and you should be able to pop a wheelie

  • @MrHunterboy223 it works now. & yeah that was the problem,i was a noob back then

  • how did u solve this problem. i removed the spur gear and the shoes but the engine sounds d same

  • I had the same problem, It was the clutch shoes and spring on the front of the engine.

  • your dumb is whats wrong with it, ask your local hobby shop ya tard

  • Check your idol speed

  • is your t maxx going to full throttle then stopping the turning on then doing it again thats what mine is doing what was wrong with yours?

  • i have the s maxx and its the 3.3 and it dont got reverse i have to buy it

  • I had the same problem with mine. mine got real bad and the engine would rev up but the truck would hardly move. If ur having the same problem tighten ur spur gear.

  • ive never had or driven one of these rc cars the only close thing to have driven an rc car is the ones i have bough from radio shack and stuff.... so is it hard to drive these like do u have to be an expert for them?

  • if it is rattling then that is actually detonation and you need to run lower percentage of nirto or shimm it.

  • how did you get reverse the tmax 3.3 doesnt have reverse factory and also why do you have the plastic pipe?

  • @EasternEb58 t-maxx 3.3 model 4909 has reverse, the newer t-maxx 3.3 model 4908 doesn't.

  • @HPISAVAGE11 hpi sucks balls traxxas rc vehicles are alot faster, cooler, more durable, and there cheaper so go drive your little faggot hpi savage and fuck off

  • It is missing a gear it is jumping one of them

  • theres nothing wrong maybe fine tune it but its working good

  • well just to let u no its 3.5 turns for factory setings and should run great

  • rite lads who has got the problem with there car running to ricjh if u do the main jst up rite till it is tite and undo it 4 hole turns your car will run better as thats the factory setting for these hope i have helped

  • trucks to rich. lean it out and blow the motor trying to do wheelies is a bad idea. Unless u want to replace the motor quickly.

  • mine does that smetimes too. what is it

  • also could be way to lean

  • the engine has these grips in the drive gear these can wear fast if not treated right it will cause the engine to slip at weird times or the trany could have a sened striped gear but thats rare

  • @HPISAVAGE11 lol considering savage has a big block and a t max or a revo with a 3.3 trx racing engine can keep up...ill stick with what i no is good..traxxas..not to mention traxxas is the number 1 selling rc company in the world so go fuck ur self

  • @tman1335 lol calm down im over rc cars but when i was into them and a few years of experience i would say hpi is considerably better. i would also race in tracks and guess what??? Not a SINGLE pro used Traxxas lol and if you dont believe me go to a track yourself. but for bashing and doing stupid shit then they are both equallly good but my three speed xl would smoke my friends revo 3.3. i also did have an aftermarket engine but i forgot the brand but even with the stock engine my was better

  • @tman1335 thank you traxxas are the shiz nizzle if you dont dog it and keep it well maintained

  • @tman1335 the savage has an extra 2.5 punds over the revo, because it is built so tough, thats why it is slower. and also traxxas is a much bigger adn company, so ya they sell more. i hade a revo 3.3 and it was so shitty that i almost gave up the hobby, until i bought my savage, which has 9 gallons through it and has had a 5$ shock shaft replaced and thats it. now its got an extra $1000 into it. i now have all hpi cars and i love the hobby once again

  • what for a fuel is this pleas answer

  • traxxas top feul

  • is it good for a noob at nitro

  • mmm not realy....i wouldent buy one without knowing the basic stuff.

  • @GEO3535 my first rc car was a t-maxx im 12 now and have the 3.3

  • @GEO3535 if ujsut read soem stuff on forums and liek traxxas videos yell get it

  • haha your slipper clutch was slippin you gotta tighten that shit down

  • dude your engine is probably had you are running way to lean

  • Comment removed

  • this has nothing to do with an air leak!!!

  • i know this video is old, but to anyone with a traxxas motor in any of their traxxas cars, your suckin! buy a better engine for your traxxas!

  • ha why would i waste 200 bucks for a new engine? my engine rapes...3.3

  • because traxxas engines suck ass! i got that O.S. .18 tz E.B. Modified engine, that thing is fucking sweet. sorry but all the traxxas motors ive had just sucked, lol. i had a sirio .23 on one my first tmaxx, that was a beastly motor too, lol

  • the 3.3 is enough power for it i blew my 2.5r on a football field wide open it was to lean

  • you probley dont know how to tune or break em in. or handle the highest out put motor for its size out there... or you had bad luck

  • if my transmission wouldn't shift into second, could it just be the high idle speed not allowing the car to shift into second?

  • aaa no u have to adjust the transmission to shift earlier

  • not the idle but if the low speed needle and highspeed arent tuned right it wont shif good.

  • its a t-maxx is the problem

  • the video was posted like almost 2 years ago, why are people still posting sugestions on what "could" be the problem. lol

do it the easy way, take it to ur local hoby shop, porvided its a good 1 like the one near me. let them play with it for 10 min and they will tell you whats wrong

  • also a lean lsn could be the problem!

  • Fuckin lean as hell, no smoke and winding like crazy.

  • its a high idle, just lower the idle, other than that i see nothing else wrong!

  • not the clutch or spur gear. your motors prob to lean, thats why its idling so loud. try turning the black screw next to the carb a 1/2 or 1/4 turn to the left. might help. it hauls fine, so your spur and clutch are fine.

  • lol so far i was reading ur comments and i only found one person who is right lol.. some people are tlaking abt check ur radio end points lol and saying ur second gear is screwed lol they are so dumb if they looked at the spur they would c it was slipping and that meant tighten th slipper clutch lo,l DUMD ASSESSS

  • tighten the clutch about a half of turn!! the bolt with the spring on it!!

  • I feel sorry for you for all the dumb ass coments youve been getting . Its entertaining to me but its gotta piss you off a little. good luck with the truck.

  • your ends points are screwed on the radio check all your throttle adjustments both radio and the truck if ok go to factory settings 4 turns out hsn half turn out from flush lsn

  • second gear screwed

  • no you want an okay amount of smoke other wise the engine is too lean and will get to hot set the low speed needle a liitle leaner and the high speed ma liitle richer

  • ur low end is not set correctly... i had the same problem with my 3.3 so what u have to do is check how much smoke is coming out at top end... there should only be a little... then do several h-speed passes and then bring it in and pinch the red thing on the gas line... if it is set right, it will speed up and then die... this will take 2 seconds and u have 2 count it out... very simple...

  • how did you get reverse?

  • i wont to know to

  • 3.3 come with reverse

  • no it doesnt you have to add it

  • @tarantulafreek or by getting a speed controller with reverse but that is how in electric nitro would probably be different but you would be able to get a new part that supports reverse and frontal :) i hope i helped you

  • do u rev ur moter cuz that will fuck it up

  • its a t maxx

  • does the 3.3 engine have 2 gears?

  • yea, you can actualy hear the gears switching

  • MOTOR IS LOOSE

  • i dont hear anything o.O

  • I would think these people would stop commentingon this video when it was put on like 2 years ago. Im sure it's fixed now. and their not crap infact their one of the best selling and working truck out their. it has speed and alright duribility. It also has lots of torque at the wheels...

  • it's crap thts wt s wrong with it.

  • you would know alot about crap.

  • Really my maxx 3.3 stays with a 4 tec all day. top speed and acceleration.

  • what? 4tec should be way faster then the T-maxx3.3

  • I got it tuned very well and my trans is very precise on the shifting. But my 4-tec pulls away at the last second for the win. So not exactly as fast as the 4-tec but pretty damn close.

  • i have a rustler VXL video now and i think the rustler would beat the 4 tec?! , why dont you watch it and tell me what you think?

  • Tighten your slipper clutch clockwise about half a turn. then lean out your low idle screw about 1/16 clockwise. After a couple of hot laps you will need to lower the idle by the idle screw. counter clockwise.

  • check the cluch mine exploded eater titen it from the front bolt or replace it all and tune it to the wether that yon run it in and it will run and go so fast you will be scaird to run it in your supdivision

  • no it is your idol needle it is running to high back it off a bit same appened to mine

  • ummm its nitro

  • most deff the slipper cluth dude...

  • it sounds like slipper clutch

  • i race buggies but own a t maxx. ur truck is to lean and tighten you clutch and main drive gear it will ride wheelies like no other

  • agust the shift piont in the trannywhere the cap is

  • you need more fuel intake

  • Yes what every one else said it is to lean it's not geting enough fuel.

  • havve you tried adjusting when the tranny will shift it will tell you how to do that in your manual

  • unlean it a bit then it should run better.

  • whats the best setting for your t maxx just got one and idk like screw it all the way in and back it out how many turns

  • ive got the same thing happening to my T-maxx

  • it is running to lean and you need to toon in last you need move the the nobs on the controler to where it is where you like it.i had the same thing to me on my duratrax and my t-maxx .15,3.3 also.

  • possibly a glow plug

  • yeh its running to lean basically

  • tune it thts wat happen to mine i just had to tune it..butt now i hit a rock jumping bike jumps it was funny

  • your running ur car to rich try turning out ur high end screw out a half a turn

  • Mine bogs down when I accelerate hard. Does anyone know what's wrong??

  • its the clutch in the trans box or it could b tht u r running the fule to rich or not rich enough so just go to your locoale hobbie shop and the phone # for tmaxx

  • no smoke-richen it up a lil on low speed-turn out the high speed to 4 turns out and lean from there-ditch reverse for 1-much better w/o it-make sure ya got no airleaks from backplate or the cooling head-they will loosen up a lil. use glow plug ingniter instead of blue wire-the batt will last much longer and plug will stay hotter-flare out the header w/ it attches to pipe with needle nose the use a fresh ziptie on it-hope this helps good luck

  • lean it more untill it starts cutting out if it starts cutting out back it down 1/16 of a turn

  • if ur just like me who loves to do wheelies put 2 clips in each shock in the rear maby 3 in the rear of the rear shocks then put the wheelie bar on the very last bar it doesnt even look like a bar its the to litte bars at the very end u will do wheelies like crazy

  • The exhaust in these cars creates alot of the power so thats why its hard to do wheelies

  • what do you mean by creats a lot of power,

  • your header is disconnected from the engine or your gasket poped resulting in noise and burnt up gas to go all over the header look and see unscrew the exhause and see if the paper gasket is broken if so buy a new one or cut out a replica from a soda can it will work aswell but its hard to cut.

  • ya their nothing wrong wid it and theirs no way a savage is beeter u must b on smethng !!!!!

  • my high speed needel is set at 6/12 turns out and trust me it wont stop doing wheelies and it wont run past 150 degrees :)

  • its differnt at higer elevations and humiditey buy a digital thermomeytor

  • mgt 8.0 is the best no matter what

  • You idiot i have my own t-maxx and your gona ruin your engine because you are running it way past the safe lean setting.

  • thanks for the comment but i got it fixed now,oh and by the way, that was the problem.

  • fangfanatoc is wrong, you aren't/weren't 'running it way past the safe lean setting', it is just down to the fact that, with a richer fuel mixture, you get more torque (to an extent) - therefore to be able to pull wheelies you need to have a richer, rather than a leaner fuel mixture setting, as a leaner fuel mixture setting is meant for racing and top speeds, not wheelying and off roading! Glad you got it sorted tho :P

  • thanks bro.

  • those wheelies will get old after a while though, everything gets ugly from the truck flipping. i think wheelies are a bit overrated. i have a t-maxx too, i bought a savage first and then i got my maxx and i cant stand it. i highly reccommend a savage to anyone. mine has a cheap axial .28 spec 1s and its crazy with the wheelies, so much power and i got it all for like 225 bucks on ebay!

  • bro theres nothing wrong with it

    it sounds and runnes fine

  • When the idle they all sound like that! There is nothing wrong and if you don't believe me just bring it to a hobby shop!

  • yea i know that now, this was my first nitro.

  • tanks it worked it

  • can any one help me, mine makes a noise like gears not meshing, and it dies if i give it full throttle

  • tighten the slipper clutch and adjust the needles try making the high speed more lean

  • its prbably somthing in the tranny, but the full throttle dying thing is probably because you either running it way to lean, or way to rich

  • You were right, it was just a simple problem.

  • 1.tighten da slipper sometimes it comes loose

    2.new glow plug

    3.richen the high speed needle

it happens to me all the time

  • thanks but i got it fixed now,i had to adjust the low speed needle

  • if u want to do a wheelie make sure your shoks are at the highest position on your a arms

  • o hey u were talkin about the spur gear it is set up for torque so u can do wheelies but if u want more speed u get a spur gear with less teeth

  • when changing the spur gear do you have to remove the motor?

  • It makes it easier, I just pop out the gas tank and the engine. I've hadda swap out 3 spur gears in like the past 2 weeks lol

  • sweet,i will try that.

  • Just watch the little thing that is on the throttle the arm. You gotta carfully get that out.

  • u can just take off the gas tank and it should make it easier to change the gear

  • you have it too rich u have too lean it some more for itto do a wheelie

  • ya richer the better and check slipper clutch(bearings, shoes, every thing)

  • its to rich, and its your slipper clutch

  • dude i know whats wrong its your exaust pipe its covered with ducked tape you need a new one

  • richen the high speed dude it sounds horrible

  • well

i would adjust the slipper clutch

and i would also richen up the high speed some[brass inlet needle]

  • Adjust your slipper it sound's a little loose

  • ajust slipper clutch happend to me runs at to high rpms and goes slow

  • how do you do that

  • check your slipper clutch. If u want to do wheelies tighten it up all the way

  • can i just get a different gear?

  • yes the spur gear that comes wit it is to munch tourg and not enoufh sped

  • Painful to listen to.

  • the onley thing wrong is that it isnt mine lol

  • the onlik

  • rich up

  • Idle is raising...lean out the LSN

  • yea that was my first nitro, now that i watch this video, i think to myself what a noob i was.

  • k man if idle rises ur needle is already to rich cuz its sarved of fuel and tries to shut off so budd rich up

  • sry i mean if it rises its too lean so rich up

  • mine does that too, it helps to run with the body on sometimes too.... but its the slipper clutch and its fine, it's anoying but fine.

  • my t maxx 3.3 is faster than that and i run mine super rich. i can go from a roll in second gear and put it on the wheely bar and keep up with a savage with a little secrets.

  • thats for aLL the comments i got it fix now.

  • ur supposed to hear the raddling bells

  • loved your videos...you did a good job..thanks for the comment on my Great Dane Barney

  • replace shock oil at the back, maybe 50-60 weight. sounds a little lean too. adjust idle needle. adjust slipper clutch. adjust shift point a little earlier

  • air is going in the full line or the needles carb. seal 'O' rings are finish

  • it is the slipper clutch..i just got an up graded one and it does the same

  • meh mine did the same iddle to much

  • You engine is having the same idling problems as mine did. Replace the fuel lines. Also, replace the back shocks with 45 weight shock oil and it won't bottom out as easily.

  • cool,alright thanks

  • Not all t maxx come out of the box the same way so try tightening up your spur gear maybe a 1/4 turn.

  • You dont have to tighten anything...i have a tmaxx 3.3 and it will ride a wheelie all the way through 45 mph dont believe me? watch my video!

  • my monster gt does the same thing... i think its normal cuz thats wat the guy said at my hobbyshop...and if u wanna wheelie then tighten the slipper clutch all the way and lean it out just a tad...but never too much! cuz it will damage ur piston and sleeve

  • i thought something was broken, how tight do i tighten the slipper clutch?

  • The easiest way to wheelie... from what I can see in your video, is to use your shock clips... Put 2 big ones on all 4 rear shocks.

The blue smoke don't always show on video. So if you have adjusted your high speed needle, tighten it all the way till it bottoms out (not too tight!) Then loosen it out 4 FULL turns out (counterclockwise) this should be a good start point. NEVER tighten it more than 1/2 turn in from that point.

  • My T-maxx doesnt matter where the shock clips are...it does wheelies even at half throttle. This guys Tmaxx is cleary running TOO lean... I can tell just by the sound of the engine and the speed of the idle. If he richens the LOW speed screw a little bit it will slow the idle down and make the truck faster!!!

  • did you change anything in your t-maxx to do wheelies like. it is a 3.3 engine right?

  • Yea, I thought it sounded too lean too. How does it go? To wheelie you make the rear shocks firmer and the front shocks softer? I just put a new 3.3 on mine and it wheelies fine with firm springs all the way around.

  • thats a good idea about the clips but wont it flip over faster.
