  • I live in West Virginia, Charleston, West Virginia and I saw that thing fly right by my house! I just uploaded to sets of videos of planes taking off from yeager!

  • @YeagerAirport are you guys regional or national?

  • you hear that wail once, you never forget it. beautiful shot!

  • They named an airport after Gen. Chuck Yeager!!! GOOD----he's about the only real General wev'e had in the last 60 years. Yeager got courtmartialed as an enlisted guy so he knows what Air Force bullshit can be!! Google "allah damn it!" and see what I had to go through as a C-5 flight engineer at Travis. YEAGER RULES! FOREVER!

  • I miss seeing these things on a regular basis. Try making your tee shot with one of those taking off a few hundred yards away from you. (military golf course) I was happy to hear WV Air Guard picked up a few of these. I love the sound and the grace these things take off with. You have to remember, the seats in this plane are actually turned around due to the forces this plane can put on your body on take offs and landings.

  • Awesome!!

  • It took off basically empty and took off light on fuel compared to what they normally fly over seas.

  • I saw it too..It was part of our President O'Idiot's security flying in Marine One and the travelcade for Pelosi and Reid for Senator Byrds funeral..Another waste of tax payer money! considering there stance on coal!

  • @EarthDogz false, check the date on that.

  • Outstanding!

  • nice quality

  • where was this shot from??

  • North Gate Buisiness Park

  • this is the loudest plane I've ever heard not including a fighter or a bomber.

    good lord.

If you ever live by the flightline and you're RIGHT THERE when it''s taking off. I promise you. It'll feel like your ears are exploding and they'll be ringing for minutes. :)

  • I saw it land up front on the runway! it was at a summer camp i was in at the time called castem. this is truely an amazing aircraft i must say!

  • I live in South Hills on the opposite side of the valley from the airport. My wife and I were out in the neighborhood a couple of weeks ago and one of these planes came over on it's way to land at Yeager APT. It shook the whole valley, and was quite a sight to see. They'll be coming in and out of Chuckton regularly now that the airport has a bigger runway. What an amazing bit of technology the C-5 is!

  • I live in Elkview and seen this thing it's a monster I couldn't believe that it took off and landed there.

  • What a huge Jet,Its bigger than a 747 , it can land an takeoff on a 6,300ft. runway and it doesn't use as much room on the runway as a crj, that kinda messed up but AWESOME!!!

  • thats because it was nearly empty. Check out the airports facebook or the photo gallery on the website for photos of a loaded one taking off... pretty impressive
