Hi, apologies for the random comment, but we have just started an ambitious new community website based around our planet, and wanted to let people know who might be interested. It's at earth-forums (dot) com. We hope you like it :)
why the earth is in a current "heating" process is because of a "carbon-saturated environment" that has choked the atmosphere by it's methods of destruction via ....for ex:....CFC's . created by fossil fuels. the real issue at hand is will we be able to survive this process and for how long? thank god some scientists are christian!
Science is a knowledge of what man observes happening and later on finalises its rules like day & night changing seasons etc. But vice versa nature is showing changing its laws from time to time at different places. Many rivers change their track by earthquakes of different intensities. Black holes show static time or no time. These are all hints that Creator of the Universe exists and observes how his orders of becoming a human being are being followed. Man must be humane and not wild any more.
The earth is constantly being explored a lot regarding land, water & human needs & new discoveries are always there whenever man starts his search on new topics. What needs to be studied is the Creator of Universes Manual Quran
And One Cant Capture Knowledge About Anything but Whatever He (Creator) enlightens. The Holy Book gives a lot of light upon the laws of the creator, their violations and frequent change in the laws. It is so far the best book on natural laws in each branch of science.
The artic case does not fit in with global warming; it fits in with volcanic activity on the ocean floor: "The volcanoes lie along the Gakkel Ridge, a remote and mostly unexplored section of the mid-ocean ridge system that runs through the Arctic Ocean." (ScienceDaily June 26, 2008)
You cannot say the earth is warming with the data you have. 2/3s of your weather stations are gone. What would the results be if you added in those missing Siberian stations? For good science, you can only use the stations that have been in existence since you started keeping track and that haven't had the environment around them changed. Temps are measured locally; the "average" means nothing. The "global temp" is non-existent; a temp of 80 anywhere will not melt ice where it remains below 32.
Now it says that the arctic situation fit's in well with the Global Warming scenario. But what of the antarctic? Does not fit in? Should we presuming so much and forcing global response based on only 30 years study when the evidence only corroborates the posited in 1/2 of our planet. does the other half become irrelevant. Seems it is the equivalent of looking at the top layer in a test tube and basing action on it alone and ignoring the bottom layer cos we don't get it.
" But what of the antarctic? Does not fit in? Should we presuming so much and forcing global response based on only 30 years study when the evidence only corroborates the posited in 1/2 of our planet."
an article was just published a couple days ago...apparently antarctica has been warming...only its been just half of it...there is a mountain range separating the continent which separated the temperatures measured.

anyway, what concerns me commonsense, is when politics become invested. It can and is like having a bedfellow with a venereal. Was nice but what is the damage. Great job. Keep at it, NASA! Help support micro wind, solar, hydro turbine with Grid-Tie Inverter technology in Wal-Mart sized products! Support EM Harvesters for homes! If External Plasma Propulsion is feasable now, lets apply that thinking to down home.
The global warming scientific community is a politically, research money, alarmist driven bunch of ideologues bent on destroying western conservative capitalist society.

The video correctly points out that the Arctic icecap (sea ice) has been shrinking - due mainly to CO2-driven warming but also to local wind and ocean patterns. Antarctic sea ice has shown no similar trend, but most Antarctic ice is on land, and the overall pattern is one of ice loss, as shown by the GRACE satellite measurements, again consistent with the overall global warming trend. Current concerns relate to more severe future warming due to rapid increases in atmospheric CO2 concentrations.
Current trends show an anomalous increase in temperature over the entire Northern hemisphere.
Unless the rate of change decreases, weather conditions will become unpredictable and potentially hazardous. It's not getting better, which is why the thing to do is to stop increasing the releases of CO2 and NOx into the atmosphere. Simplified, this means not burning more oil than absolutely necessary and not investing in new oil-based infrastructure.

before owning and stealing inventions, think really good. car was invented by europeans, gas was already used by arabians and asians for thousands of years and europeans invented refining.
many usa inventors were migrants too. thanks to uk for educating mr bell.
no idiot, Europe was always the powerful center of the world and will stay, because of its stability, in Asia there are a lot of wars too come, Tibet, Korea India Pakistan, they still fighting, anyway, dont you think or hope that in a few 100 years the world is Earth, with humans as one people unite, thats what the wars in Europe tried, too create one empire under a world flag, humans want unity, so there is nothing more too fight, so there is peace.
we have to unite somehow, but domination will not work. there are so many cultures on this earth. its up to the more advanced ones with the resources to mature and lead by example. start sharing and helping whoever needs it. as long as we keep on living competitively, us vs you, then we will not get anywhere because everyone is getting their joy from having more and taking from others.
Unity will only come in 2 ways. Mixing the races, or one race destroying the others. Even if one religion united the world, (most likely the science explanation of creation will do this) they would eventually face the race problems, IE Mix or Destory. Even if generations of the races live in unity for thousands of years there will still be people who wish to stay pure, and as the mixed people push the pure to mix, its War. There will be pures in each race, and would unite to fight common foe
british or europe will be behind the asian space race in a few decades time. asia is in an economic boom. with china, russia, india and japan all in the space race. of course china is in the lead. countries like Burma will stay distant and isolated because it is a violent country more than china. the asians will become far more powerful after a few decades. even the next super powers. look at their financial economic boom. while the west goes on economic recession.
the west, you mean usa only or whole americas, western europe, south africa, australia, japan as the west? economies will go on whatever is going on in usa. people will always find someone else to make money with.
The key word in the info is "period". It will end. And a thing that all the enviromentalists fail to mention is that the ice on Antartic is increasing. Maybe it is time for an ice age in the south?
i always make a comparison of human being as bacteria in our body. It doesnt depend of the time that are making damage in the body or the quantity, but depends of the intensity that it has under the body. The earth is the same, we are in a small time of industrial activity, but the intensity is to much huge! By this cause that everything happened too fast. I cited reviews from KhazarSpore user.
I think man isn`t a great influence on global warming...I mean, if you think in perspective, do you really think that the 200 year old industrial activity of humans can make such a change in the earth, that has been here for billions of years?I don`t think so =)
200 years of exponentially growing industrial pollution + exponentially growing population + exponentially growing domestic farm animals (you wouldn't believe how much CO2 they produce) = large impact on a planet. 200 years is by no means a long time, but when all the factors are growing exponentially larger, problems add up quickly.
Mánkind only accelerated the global warming. it would have happened sooner or later and global warming killed almost every living thing on the planet millions of years ago. It is unavoidable. Polution is bad but as it is now we cant do much than try to slow down the effects of warming.
Nasa is soo funny as they are always doing what government says..manipulating pictures from Moon/Mars and saying that Global Warming is not man made..heh..Usa has sooo darn many Nuclear Plants and grey pollution cloud almost all the time above Los Angeles cau'se of so much traffic etc. :( If Hybrid cars would be more advertised in Usa and people would consider of buying them then all that ridiculous cursed OIL business would suffer and no good for Money hungry companies/countries..darn..
19,000 scientists would disagree with you. The earth is heating from, get this, are you ready?...THE SUN!!! *ALL* the planets in our solar system are heating up (including Pluto, 300% warmer) because of cyclic, solar activity. This is normal. If you listen to lying politians who only want to impose the CARBON TAX on you, then you're a fool. Do your own research people.
Hey idiot. There is no evidence that the sun is causing the heating. There is also no proof that the global warming is caused by man. There are evidence, but no proof. So until we find out shut up.We all know that your opinion is based on some 10 min documentary you once watched.Idiot.
I totally agree with Spookybacon, man's role in this global warming issue is not really significant at all, it's just the same as the ice age before, the earth system act by its own accord, and we can only do little to change it..juz that we shouldn't make things worse.
who says that ice will grow or melt with temperature? the last decade we had slight falling temperature, but falling amounts of ice. That's strange because the nineties were famous for internet growing big, and those need alot of servers and computers and will use alot of oil. That just shows that it's not yet a fact that people know carbon makes global warming. At the least, the relationship is not linear, and more like the stock market.
it is man made, man made all the vehicles and used carbon dioxide to run them, and it melts the polar ice caps, which makes more radiation and heat from the sun into the earth
Thousands of real scientists disagree with you and your environmentalist religion. Try getting your science from something other than a politically charged documentary.
did you listen to the video at all? Nasa says that only the north polar ice cap is decreasing while the southern ice cap is increasing. so how does that fit into global warming?
North polar ice is melting and South polar ice is growing. Recently it was discovered that Alaskas glaciers are growing. You know there's a reason Greenland is called Greenland. Global warming? Why not? Everything moves in cycles. Man made? No proof. Why can't we accept that the solar system and the earth change on it's by their own accord and that man is NOT some all powerful world destroyer. This video makes no conclusions. It merely points out observations. Enough man is god powerful hubris.
the Alaskan glaciers are not growing- where did you read that??? Greenland is called greenland to attract settlers (thanks to Erik the Red). Yes everything's in cycles, but we've sped up the process now. Deniers are doubting sound scientific evidence showing man's contribution. How else can you explain the increase of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere? Man isn't a world destroyer? What do you call a nuclear bomb?
Although it's not scientifically proven that we ARE in fact causing global warming, but Al Gore has pointed out that governments do control almost everything... therefore it has turned into a political game. Everything does... eventually.
Science never proves anything, but the IPCC's last report said we are "unequivocally" affecting the climate through our actions. The new game for the skeptics is not to disprove climate change but to delay action, citing that we don't have proof that it's man-made or that we should focus on adaptation (I mean, just look at Sarah Palin's responses to questions about global warming).
Dude how can you even say its a lie?! Passed the 3 latest years its already looking critical so stop being a moron and take your bike instead of the car. Turn off your porn at night. And for god sake watch the news! o0
Anyone who is denying that the ice is melting needs to WAKE UP and get an education. I've taken a few oceanography classes and this is really happening! If continental ice sheets are melting then we are in deep trouble.
a long time ago the smartest minds on earth thought the world was flat, we make mistakes, maybe we are wrong about all of this you never know, they might look back on this in the future and be like, "say what?" who knows
i saw a video in my earth science class about how scientists found pottery from thousands of years ago that had crystallized facing polar south. pottery shards are supposed to face north when heated so the scientists thought at some point maybe polar south was polar north and vice versa. they also predicted this change to occur very soon in the future...maybe thats what could be starting to happen now? if that happens, the northern hemisphere's going to be a lot warmer...while south is cooler...
yea i read this on fox news. The scientists say that tey are expecting the magenetic field to flip meaning the south would be north and the north would be south.

1) Do not panic.
2) Stop unnecessary releases of COx and NOx
2.1) More nuclear, less coal based power (also, coal actually releases MORE radioactive materials into the environment than nukeplants)
2.2) Supplement existing energy infrastructure with wind, tidal, solar and geothermal energy production
3) Don't make new infrastructure dependent on oil or natural gas (makes sense both economically and environmentally)
4) Stop burning stuff (waste, etc) without filtering the smoke.

That's strange because the nineties were famous for internet growing big, and those need alot of servers and computers and will use alot of oil. That just shows that it's not yet a fact that people know carbon makes global warming. At the least, the relationship is not linear, and more like the stock market.

So this hole Man Made Global warming is a Lie. i was wondering what part the SUN played in life! Now i Know!
peejaa 3 years ago
it is man made, man made all the vehicles and used carbon dioxide to run them, and it melts the polar ice caps, which makes more radiation and heat from the sun into the earth
bleachnarutoftw 3 years ago
Vehicles don't run on Carbon Dioxide.
Temperature causes CO2 levels to rise.
CO2 doesn't cause temperature to rise.
The sun is causing Global Warming here, as well as on other planets.
bjkimber86 3 years ago
The sun is not causing global warming. The energy coming from the sun follows certain patterns which have not been linked with global warming.
So,shut up please.Thank you.

Shut Up? Nice...
Thousands of real scientists disagree with you and your environmentalist religion. Try getting your science from something other than a politically charged documentary.
bjkimber86 3 years ago
how can data from satellites be "religious"? it is observable data.
videochick770 3 years ago 3
It's not religious... this data being twisted/misinterpreted for a false belief is what is "religious" in nature.
bjkimber86 3 years ago 2
And in the name of Science, please prove it with evidence of "this data being twisted/misinterpreted for a false belief" :P
Religious data lol

did you listen to the video at all? Nasa says that only the north polar ice cap is decreasing while the southern ice cap is increasing. so how does that fit into global warming?

look at the "slideshow" when it demonstrates the warmth through the years.. and pay close attention to 1960 through 1970..
Not much warmth there.
Why?
Cause everyone was smokin marijuana. See how good it is for you, for that guy, for her, FOR EVERYONE?

North polar ice is melting and South polar ice is growing. Recently it was discovered that Alaskas glaciers are growing. You know there's a reason Greenland is called Greenland. Global warming? Why not? Everything moves in cycles. Man made? No proof. Why can't we accept that the solar system and the earth change on it's by their own accord and that man is NOT some all powerful world destroyer. This video makes no conclusions. It merely points out observations. Enough man is god powerful hubris.
Spookybacon 3 years ago
the Alaskan glaciers are not growing- where did you read that??? Greenland is called greenland to attract settlers (thanks to Erik the Red). Yes everything's in cycles, but we've sped up the process now. Deniers are doubting sound scientific evidence showing man's contribution. How else can you explain the increase of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere? Man isn't a world destroyer? What do you call a nuclear bomb?
master0909 3 years ago 2
You rule.
Although it's not scientifically proven that we ARE in fact causing global warming, but Al Gore has pointed out that governments do control almost everything... therefore it has turned into a political game. Everything does... eventually.
drumgroovy 3 years ago
Science never proves anything, but the IPCC's last report said we are "unequivocally" affecting the climate through our actions. The new game for the skeptics is not to disprove climate change but to delay action, citing that we don't have proof that it's man-made or that we should focus on adaptation (I mean, just look at Sarah Palin's responses to questions about global warming).
master0909 3 years ago
Dude how can you even say its a lie?! Passed the 3 latest years its already looking critical so stop being a moron and take your bike instead of the car. Turn off your porn at night. And for god sake watch the news! o0

Anyone who is denying that the ice is melting needs to WAKE UP and get an education. I've taken a few oceanography classes and this is really happening! If continental ice sheets are melting then we are in deep trouble.

What motive does NASA have to lie? I hope you're all joking.
Pendo84 3 years ago
I agree with all who see through these lies. This information seems pretty devious to me. It is to deceive us and hide the truth.

They show the Artic losing half its ice since 1980. Wow!
Then they say the Antartica is getting more ice? Whats the stats on that and how does that fit in the puzzle? Wow.

i saw a video in my earth science class about how scientists found pottery from thousands of years ago that had crystallized facing polar south. pottery shards are supposed to face north when heated so the scientists thought at some point maybe polar south was polar north and vice versa. they also predicted this change to occur very soon in the future...maybe thats what could be starting to happen now? if that happens, the northern hemisphere's going to be a lot warmer...while south is cooler...
koreaboi6 3 years ago
yea i read this on fox news. The scientists say that tey are expecting the magenetic field to flip meaning the south would be north and the north would be south.
