It’s always nice to see an awesome tribute to westerns! With great editing too. The new film Good For Nothing just recently got me back into westerns so finding this was a treat. bitly .com/xEEQuk
@xjacki3xs Thank you for the comments! I thought Good For Nothing only has a preview in Santa Barbara and will be distribute in May in US. Were you in Santa Barbara?
Great to see clips of these shows.Has anyone got clips or opening credits of Temple Houston, Pony Express, The Californians, The Americans, Union Pacific or Jefferson Drum please?
Terrific job. There's nothing like a great western and the great stars who were in them. The great filmmakers who made them from John Ford to Sergio Leone and all in between.
Thanks! I know...I love the swashbucklers one! But it seems my most popular video is the Knights one....which is a tribute like the westerns and swashbucklers.
Great great job!! I admire the effort to editing all these scenes from memorable movies! Rhtym and suspense are the ingredients of this beautiful video!!
Fantastic job! I was just listening to a lecture on YT which explains why cattlemen (plus sheepherders) and farmers were always at war with each other (Shane). The land was owned by the government, so no one really had title. Cattlemen could do nothing with the 160 parcel acre alloted to farmers for their use. And the railroads? Fugetaboutit! But, we had guys who fought back like Jesse James, and Harmonica: "a man who plays when he oughta talk; and talks when he oughta play." - Cheyenne.
yup as in Big Country! the constant evolving land rights were contention for everyone from cattle barons, to railroad builders to Native Americans, farmers and just ordinary folks heading west.
The railroads had help clearing off Native Americans with the help of the US Calvary and such Civil War heros as General Sherman. Someone posted the movie Union Pacific a short while ago (now blocked). During one scene, they decide to build the tracks over snow and ice! The great heroism of the workers aside, it was a monumental act of stupidy and waste. They didn't care how many times the stucture collapsed; because the government would always provide money to keep rebulding.
Well this just exceeded all my already high expectations. Love the beginning, pretty much somes up what we love about Westerns. ADORE the inclusion of Destry Rides Again, and so much CC! All those wonderful faces... I think watching this video made me realise that the majority of our favourite performances are in Westerns, no? Great stuff, it was sure worth the wait!!! Loved the finish on Redford's killer smile too !!
