Poker is a game of mathematics, luck and skill. Pocket AA WON'T always win. Bad beats happen and lucky breaks can help put you in the money.

I would have definately pushed with the Tens. Grinder prob had AQ and would make the fold. No way he would smooth call with AA/KK/QQ. JJ was your only worry. As for the under the gun raiser his range was high but you had to take the chance against a possible AK. Gotta gamble to win these kinda tourneys at these stages

When you made the move with AJ you said you have been playing relatively tight.... I dont think you playing tight would matter if somebody had AK or KK or QQ im pretty sure they would still call you especially when you made the move in middle pos.

@langdon19 with his stack and blinds this big you should push AJ from any position as long as there was nobody who pushed in first or made a raise. There's no point in seeing a flop with less than 20 blinds as you're giving your opponents a chance of flopping something. If anyone had AK, KK or QQ it's pretty much a coin flip situation and if someone calls your AJ push then your move is still an EV+ play and it's profitable in the long run.

I suggest you to find Push or Fold chart where you can see what holecards you should push at a certain M level and AJ is definitely one of them when your stack is less than 20 big blinds..from ANY position. But you wouldn't know this, obviously :).

can someone explain something to me about Pokerstars? When you go to the lobby of a tournament you're in, on the right there are 3 headings:- "Player", "Chips" and "Rank". But when I click them, it doesn't put them in any sensible order, i.e. clicking "Chips" doesn't put the chip leader at the top etc. Try it yourself and see
