this is not to take any of the khmers' great achievements but i do not see any sign of the arch concept in their exquisite stone structures. similar designs were also seen in the harapan brick structures but this is a much older civilization than the khmers. is this a correct observation or is something missed here ?. some explanation would be appreciated here. thanks.

The adoption of Buddhism by Khmer kings one of the greatest fault of Khmer kings..

Because,when Hinduism is there,Buddhism also existed side by side and flourished.

If Hinduism would have been there,Khmer would not have fallen to rioters.

In Ankor Watt more than 1,800 Absaras, but only one has smiled with showing teeth.

Any one know where is this one locate at?

If i'm not wrong the smiling Apsara with teeth is located on the first gate when u entered it's on your right hand (70%). Or it may be on the second gate right hand side(30%).

What a shame am I? I just forgot it. lol

Some people said a person who built all the Absaras had asked the king to go back to his village and get mariage to one of his villagers then he had to come back to the job a few day later to finish his job. While working on the site he was thinking about his wife's smiling face with showing teeth, so he desided to script one just like his belove wife at home.

I don't know ifor sureif it is true but the story is very interesting.

Actually, there are three Apsaras smilling with teeth. The big one is on the wall on the right corner located on the first level entrance and the other two medium located on the main level. There are many beautiful Khmer Scripts on the left on the main level and the beating chest hall on the left left side on the main level.

Lookup "Zhou Daguan". He was dimplomat to the Cambodian Empire during the Mongol rule of China. He some very good detail of Cambodian life during that period.

i admired you American's how u guys went soo deep on our ancient ruins of anchor.. i believe this is only 5 percent of what u guys just touch .. the rest of percentage any other races like Vietnam..Thai..and Laos..that have part of our ruins..doe they had destroyed so many of them leaving no evidence of our culture..i believe if u guys go deeper..u well touch the richest part of Cambodia.. u well find the treasure..even the king of Egypt can't afford.
