There is nothing I don't know about the R24 - believe me. But new headlights in 1999 does not make it a new car. It is almost identical to the 1995 Rover 200.

Cars with 3 stars are generally average for crashprotection;you wouldn't walk away from this unscathed

EuroNCAP cars with 4 or 5 star ratings generally protect you better in a crash than those with 3 and below.

Not good? it's not that bad! I thought it did quite well, it fairs no worse than the outgoing BMW 3 series (E36) of the 90s as an example.
