when the war started and the north raised troops, it was not to end slavery. the only reason the emancipation proclamation was published was so european powers would not side with the confederacy.
Of course slavery is wrong - but if it had been about slavery the Union would have immediately abolished slavery in The Union states. If it had been about slavery West Virginia would not have been admitted as a slave state in mid 1863. The causes of the Civil War were much more complex than just slavery.
Actually you will find that until about thirty years ago most of black history wasn't even mentioned in history books, and the idea that some black history is still out there yet to be discovered or brought to light...among these are thousands of Black Confederates

when the war started and the north raised troops, it was not to end slavery. the only reason the emancipation proclamation was published was so european powers would not side with the confederacy.

Of course slavery is wrong - but if it had been about slavery the Union would have immediately abolished slavery in The Union states. If it had been about slavery West Virginia would not have been admitted as a slave state in mid 1863. The causes of the Civil War were much more complex than just slavery.

In 1860 Southern Italy, known as The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, was invaded without a declaration of war by the northern State of Piedmont with the excuse of a Unified Italy.Obviously this was a bloody lie and a cruel civil war between piedmontese soldiers and southern partisans lasted for about 10 yrs.Thousands of southeners were forced to leave their land to find a better place to live around the world. After 148 years Italy is not unified yet. South will rise again!
