Another thing - is it me or does the Foot Clan remind you of the Putty Patrol from "Power Rangers"? They don't look much alike but they serve the same purpose and role on the show.
And I'm surprised that Krang didn't use that attack where the android body vomits several bombs into the air and he backs off as they fall everywhere. I thought he done that in the arcade version and I've also played the SNES version.
I always wondered how Krang went from being almost 30 stories tall in the intro and first level to being 15 feet at the most in this boss fight...I guess time travel shrinks metal. :p
I still cant believe they still have this game in one of the movie theraters in philly. I played the arcade version for the first time a few months ago. I think I like the snes version better. I really dont like the Reshell version. And thats from the arcade.
I would LOVE to have a wallpaper of the entire background of this stage at the size of 1680x1050. Oddly enough, one of the special stages in Sonic CD resembles the background of this stage.
ok in this stage arcade version kick snes ass the graphic when i see the holle and showme all the city i scream holly crap, and the music is the same but in arcade got a electric guitar cool sorry for my english
@Butters644 Graphics don't matter it's gameplay, and you should know. The snes version had a 3d version of this stage as a bonus level. A fine example of how better graphics don't make a better game.
Science fiction was more imaginative in the 1980s and '90s than it is now. If you're like me, you probably had high hopes for future world like the one in Back to the Future Part 2.
@Loader2K1 Back then...let's say in the 1980's they would assume the year 2000 would be totally alien from their time..now in 2010...we push the year further like lets say 100 years from now..(What I mean is the gap in the imagination of the future is much more spacious then what pplz back then thought) Example Macross created in 1982,,,and the show was based in 2009..with the humans having advanced war vehicles..we are in 2010 and we have yet to have transformable planes..
@Platano214: Yeah, as I already said, science fiction was more imaginative in the 1980s and the 1990s. I still want to ride a hoverboard in the year 2015, damn it!
@Arz2003 Only if the scientists are studying this game level...and if this recession is over by then...10 years from now is possible we already have Times Square at 42street in New York city and Las vegas..those are our neon blueprints..
This is the coolest stage in the game. And a lot better looking than the SNES one.
But the funny thing is Super Krang: he is a lot smaller in this super form than he was in the first game in his normal form. Theoretically he was supposed to be twice as big than in his normal form.
I personally think that the camera panning, pseudo-3D, behind the shell (excuse the bad pun) effect was better looking than the arcade version's standard beat em up upper angle perspective.
@laifalbert Yeah, i have to agree on that, it was a cool effect that behind the camera part, but the snes didn't had holes in a suspended high-way, lol, and that stage was made a bonus stage, you only got to fight Krang, the foot soldiers were just passing you by. :)
I noticed that this was one of those games that Konami had beefed up for the home port release. The home port release had more levels and added background animation. Unlike Sunset Riders which lost a lot of it's drive from the Arcade and was reduced to a water-down, half-ass version.
LOL true, somebody should color half the buildings in NYC blue, the other half purple, have neon lights everywhere, and chop off parts of the freeways for no apparent reason
Those floating surfboard / glider things would be nice too
I think the designer of this game were fans of Great Mazinger. Not only Krang has his wings, but when he is coming from the background he is exactly like him in the start of the outtro of Great Mazinger's series.
Does anyone have the MP3 clean music of this boss theme? Its like a mix with the synth quality of the super nes with the raw guitar sounds of the genesis version
The boss battle theme from "Turtles In Time" is one of the busiest boss themes I've ever heard! LOL There's like 2 different things going on at once and the drums makes it even better.
"Neon Night Riders" has always been my favorite level and theme. My first TMNT game was the original for NES (the frustrating one, not the original arcade port WITH Krang LOL) and thought this was much better. I thought it was cool how it was more like the first animated series and included pretty much all of the earlier villains - even more if you played other versions.
My favorite themes in this game: Alleycat blues, this one and Boss Fight....anyone can tell me where to find the soundtrack for the past TMNT (the arcade one)?
I love how the year this level takes place in is just 11 years from now. Like we'll actually be technologically advanced enough to have hoverboards by that point.
@bearmedal we already do have hoverboards now, but they use gas and they're clumsy and bulky. We need those from Back to the Future Part 2. Can't wait, in 4 years we'll have hoverboards, self-drying clothes and self-buckling shoes!
@HyperSonicXtreme I was watching that 70s show and Red Forman was picturing the future. Hes sitting there in some type of space suit telling kitty ok its time for me to goto work. He takes off in a Rocket pack year 1995 lol
this is the arcade version. the Xbox and PS2 ports which are unlockables in TMNT: Mutant Nightmare, have some major alterations such as altered music and no score
In an ideal world, I'd have the 4 player support, graphical and sound capabilities of the arcade version, and the levels and bosses of the SNES port. That would truly make this game perfect.
..but to top it all off, I would alter the scoring to something more akin to the TMNT III: The Manhattan Project for the NES/Famicom and make a long life gauge as opposed to the little slats and make life gauges for all of the enemies in the game, too. Oh, and to top it all off, the fight with Shredder at the end of the arcade game could have a slightly altered ending so that when you beat him, instead of him dying, he break out a can of mutagen and voila, you got yourself Super Shredder.
Damn dude, that was cool to watch. I'm a fan of the SNES version so watching the differences between the arcade version and the SNES port is cool. Arcade = WAAAAY more foot soliders, some robots ive never seen before and a Krang that takes forever to kill... Nice job whoopin' his ass btw.
I dont see how this is any different from the arcade orginal. ive never played this game before but it doesnt look much different. is it easier than the one before it coz those boss battles were so freakin frustrating!
I think the reason for so many enemies is that this is the arcade version for 4 players, so they probably had to have enough baddies for 4 players to fight.
Shyt the arcade version had a shitload of enemies at once ...which of course most arcade games,, get difficult as you progress in them. I miss the arcades..quarter Power
Neon Night Riders is much better in the Arcade. The layout mades it really seem like the future(riding on a hovercraft that can hover over mid air) while the SNES version had you ride a skateboardish hovercraft over an abandon road. Looks more like Vegas at night time then the future. Also the music is much better. This has to be the best beatemup level Konami has ever done (in the Arcade of course.)
