  • Sounds like "Not going away" by Ozzy and Zakk Wylde!!.. This song sound great but i prefer zakk wylde song (solo badass).

  • Better than Black Sabbath? One of Wino's #1 influence (said so himself many times), is of course, Black Sabbath. You can't compare Spirit Caravan and Black Sabbath and claim that one is 'better' than the other. That's against the rules man, you just can't do that. I do listen to Spirit Caravan a lot more than Sabbath though, due to a more spiritual connection I feel with Wino and his music. But you can't diss fucking ozzy and the sabbath guys.

  • To be fair, some Spirit Caravan songs are better than some Black Sabbath songs. Hands down. Plus, these guys are one of the few bands who actually developed a perfect sound.

  • Wino is one of a kind... awesome jam...

  • I smell Black Sabboth.

  • This is the sexiest riff I've ever listened to!

  • @junkreep It's even sexist!

  • so glad i found this... its like being introduced to black sabbath for the first time, again!

  • y'all should quit picking on the music and just enjoy it for what it is really a great sound , band has brought you some bad assed songs here no there not B.S but even B.S havent been doin this kind of metal for quite a few decades I dont know about the rest of you my fellow metal head friends out there I really like this band and I hope I hear more ! I am 55 yrs old and thanks to you tube I dont have to listen to commercial crap on the radio any more !

  • @69pinkmeat amen bro i agree with you im 49 and thank god for youtube its like mtv of the 80s...

  • Such a jam!!

  • i'd like it way better without the vocals, or if they were muddier sounding

  • Nice song

  • ROB ZOMBIE SUCKS THERE IS PLENTY THAT HAS NOT BEEN DONE WHAT ADOES HE KNOW HIS MUSIC AND VOICE SUCKS IN MY OPINION AND SABBATH AND IRON CLAW STARTED IT ALL AT THE SAME TIME WHO RIPPED WHO WITH COVEN IN THE MIX IS ALL UP FOR DEBATE

  • @tristanatlaticus I think that was Blue Cheer.

  • not crazy about the vocals but boy is this some dank fuzzy shit

  • dit find ik ricktig dufte wa keule. rockt!!!!

  • hearing this music is just like a trip :D

  • morpheus

  • I just went on a stoner/drone/metal tour and came back to these guys. they are damn good.

  • @rushfreak95 Thanks, I think that thing was said by Kerry Rob is cool but he is like Gene simmons he suppose invented evrything

  • WHAATTT I composed a riff similar as this, is there any sabbath song that sounds similar? maybe thats the reason or maybe Im stoned

  • 2:11!!

  • Comment removed

  • Dont you love it that the song length for doom metal just seems to round down to four minutes and twenty seconds?

  • @BloodJunkieFireFly it's 4:20 somewhere in the world, man

  • beast of a song. I fucking love when everything starts up, fuckin heavy with a good groove. what more could one ask for? then wino starts singin lol. 5 stars for sure

  • If you're searching for something else, slow and heavy, like the godfather of stoner Wino taught us...try Enchanting Odyssey from Ivy Garden Of The Desert!

  • HUGE!

  • listen to Weedeater they sound like this with death vox

  • @AFtheRocker

    no and no

  • @Meatsparkle actually yes, they are also very sludgy, duh, know your music before u comment dumb stuff

  • @AFtheRocker

    sludgy. as in sludge metal.

which sounds nothing like this, and neither does it have "death vox"

  • @Meatsparkle Yes, weedeater do have 'death vox' (death metal influenced vocals) and their music is similar in scales, tempo, and chord progressions, Weedeater's singer, 'Dixie' Dave Collins (Buzzov*en, Bongzilla) has a unique growl similar to that of a death metal vocalists. and 'sludgy' is a blanket term to decribe a certain melody, tone, lyrical matter, and especially tempo, affiliated with music which sounds like this, and many of the bands on the 'suggestions' side-bar to your right.

  • Even the mighty Wino would laugh at the comparison between Spirit Caravan and Black Sabbath...

  • Wino is the motherfuckin man!! If you don't like this eat it dumbasses

  • Fuck yea.

    'Nuff said.

  • this is awesome!!! just like true 70's rock. When it was real mutha trucka!!!

  • listen to Lucifer's Friend,Jakula,Toad

  • ON MY SIDE CART RIDES MY ATLANTEAN QQUEEEEEEN!!!

    YEEEAH TRICK IT OFF!

  • Why have I only just now found this band...

  • @phanboyiv don't feel too bad, I just found this band as of 3 days ago. They KICK ASS!!!!!!

  • amazing record this one is

  • One of their best.

  • haha youre all going nuts for nothing

    Its just my opinion ahha

  • Seriously?? FAIL!

  • My friend owns the 70's dean FLYING V that Wino used on this track!

Brilliant production, considering it was recorded at the bass players garage and living room!

(Jug Fulla Sun)One of my favorite heavy rock albums of all time!

And yes i am a huge fan of BLACK SABBATH!!!!

  • this guy mushroomwhatever knows shit about sabbath.

  • @ReinaldoRoots agreed

  • Cut two seconds off the length of the song.

  • Sounds like the vocalist from steppenwolf. Almost can't tell the difference....

  • i love the color change in the album cover...

  • Wow this is cool definitely reminds me of pentagram with the vocals, which is a good thing. And the instrumental parts soud great cool outro solo I'm gonna have to check more of these guys out man

  • I WAS FLICKING THRU SOME SIXTY WATT SHAMAN AND STUMBLED ON THESE GUYS.... THIS IS MAJOR KICK ASS!!!! TOTALLY PRIME SHIT!! AWESFUCKINGOME

  • this wasn't as immediate for me as the obsessed but it just as great in its own way--cosmic for sure.

  • Great song. Part Ozzy, part Skynryd nut totally original.

  • Insane band

  • one bitch missed the like button

  • i cant believe i am just now discovering this band...fucking amazing stuff

  • Wino is the Godfather of Stoner......no one will dissagrea with that!

Whether you like it or not ;) The link with Sabbath makes absolute sense, but it a different era and genre...

  • Psycho ;p

  • Trance Inducing Rock!!!!!

  • @SupernautG moron?

  • @RoyalSlaughter < malakas?

  • @SupernautG Αβέρτα

  • @SupernautG Gamistikes?

  • this is true "stoner metal" groovy like stoned 70s rock and heavy and downtuned like modern doom

    nice

  • Now that I think of it this guy sounds a lot like John Garcia.

  • My favorite tune from the CD,but the whole thing rocks hard !

  • This song is fucking amazing

  • My dad hates most Metal, but he loved this hahaha.

  • Comment removed

  • this isn`t simpe metal. more 70s sound in a new way so the old generation can conform with it too ;)

    great music!

  • The bass blows my head up.

  • @zackled

Did you ever listened to "Enchanting Odyssey" from Ivy Garden Of The Desert?

  • Love this band...followed them in thru Texas when they were on tour for this album. Great times!

  • I love this track, I wish I still had this album the artwork was very cool!

  • where can i get this song,or any spirit caravan songs?

  • Sweet. Thought I recognized Scott Weinrich's voice and I hadn't heard of Spirit Caravan before so I had to look it up. Just found some new stuff!

  • this is awesome

  • Wino lives on. Check out his solo album Punctuated Equilibriem (spelling?). It really grows on ya. It always seems the best albums take a few listens and then wham you get it and it sticks forever!

  • Yeah I agree with you there. When I first heard PE I didn't know if I didn't really know if I liked it, but after a few listens I discovered it is an amazing l piece of art. See, Wino's music has so much depth to it, it takes a couple listens just to fully grasp the beauty of it. Wino is one incredible musician and he has his own distinct sound, you will never hear another like him.

  • Comment removed

  • never heard this group before today and i feel like ive been missing out on alot of really groovy music!

  • you have..

check out, The Obsessed, HIdden Hand and Place of Skulls...all Wino singing. You might also wanna check out Goatsnake, look up "Innocent" - Awesome heavy riffage.

  • you forgot about Saint Vitus... it was because of Wino that they gained the fame that they have

  • Wino's new band comes out this year too, called "Shrinebuilder". Got guys from Neurosis, Sleep and The Melvins. Gonna be sweet!

  • I just recently heard about them, it sounds like a doom/stoner superband... I hope it gets some airplay, then again doom was never meant to be mainstream

  • They're on an indie record label, so won't get alot of airtime, unless they're gonna advertise it. This album should be very stoner, kinda half expecting another "Holy Mountain", which would just rule :p

  • Holy shit!! Why did I not know this?? Got to be one of the best combinations of musicians around :)

  • yup :) and I get to see Sleep in Somerset in just over a week :D

  • Jealous!! o__O

  • :P one off gig. Mainly going for them, but gonna see Electric Wizard and The Jesus Lizard too

  • Aww man you HAVE to see Electric Wizard!!

  • i think wino does sound pretty likely like wino. 1of the kind,me thinking.

  • Jug Fulla Sun, Lunar Womb, and Mother Teacher Destroyer are just great fuckin' albums. Each one with a very different vibe, but all very much Wino. His solo album is a grower, but it's killer. Looking forward to the (crosses fingers) possible Saint Vitus reunion tour coming up!

  • Good shit man, thanks

  • The guitarist and the singer are the same guy, Scott "Wino" Weinrich. One of the founding fathers of Doom Metal. And he certainly sounds nothing like the guy from Fagcherry, I think you need your ears checked if you think he does.

  • *listens to it again* oh wiat he sounds more like Robert Plant and Ozzy Osbourne. sorry hehe

  • i dont know shit about the band or its history or the singers or artist or anything. ALL i can say this song fuckin ROCKs when im buzzed.

  • Agreed

  • you're a fuckin idiot

  • your shit that sucks

  • LEts Get SToNed!!!!!!

  • seriously reminds me of the paul weller sings not a diss

  • this is good. the obsessed was great.

  • how many bands has wino formed? i dig this allot.

  • lots. lol. He's formed or been a part of several

    The Obsessed

    Saint Vitus

    Spirit Caravan (obviously)

    The Hidden Hand

Shrinebuilder (well.. thats hopefully if it's still alive

    Place of Skulls

He even did a few tracks with Dave Grohl on probot

  • Ozzys aura is present here!

  • Thanks Acerb!! Really good! Awesome band!

  • this reminds me so much of ozzy osborne, but i think this is way better than black sabbath or ozzy. btw just found this band, so kick ass. whos with me on this one?!!

  • yeh man haha, they seem pretty badass

  • Fuck yeah, for sure. I have always loved old style blues guitars, but this song seems a little... heavier? Melding of awesome sounds...

  • I AM IN FORMATION WITH YA'.

  • @MushroomP1llowz

You're a fucking dope. Good, hellyeah!! Better than Black Sabbath? You're off your fucking rocker, son. Without Black Sabbath this would not exist.

  • @jmdpgh you're so frickin' right!!!!!!

  • @jmdpgh I'll put it this way, this is better than most of Black Sabbath. They went downhill after SBS and Vol 4 when the coke started setting in and their music turned into shallow vacuous technical bullshit like you hear just as much of on the radio today.

  • @SnakeTheFox Yeah, it's kinda tricky with Black Sabbath. First three albums = godlike, Vol. 4, SBS, Sabotage - partially godlike, Dio albums = godlike, everything else = average with the occasional awesome track.

  • @jmdpgh whoa there, policeman. First of all, music is music.Your statement about spirit caravan not existing weren't it for Black Sabbath may well be true, this doesn't take someone else's right to like spirit caravan more than black sabbath, or to even express ths feeling. You, on the other hand, have no right to criticise what someone likes more or less to listen to,so you can keep your opinion for your own, and the other guy his opinion for his own, as well as i keep mine.(Black sabbath >S.C)

  • @jmdpgh harrumph!

  • @MushroomP1llowz you cant be serious ^^

better than sabbath? loughed my ass off.

  • @MushroomP1llowz these guys are good, but no one is better than sabbath, because without sabbath, we wouldnt have anything like this.

  • @sinkinglamb1994 Just because they helped create a genre, doesn't mean they're the best at it. :p

  • @MushroomP1llowz listen to pentagram(doom metal)

  • @MushroomP1llowz ozzy and wino??? no no no no no no!!!!! listen some doom metal!! 1

  • @MushroomP1llowz

This band is really good. The guy who fronts the band was involved with a bunch of different early doom-metal bands including (I think) The Obsessed, Goat Snake and a couple others (maybe St Vitus or Trouble? I can't remember). I think this band is really good and less commercial/catchy than some of the Sabbath stuff though Sabbath is my favorite.

  • @leakycauldron1 he was with the obsessed, spirit caravan, place of skulls, victor griffin, saint vitus, shrinebuilder, the hidden hand, lost breed and solace.... he is very good musician

  • @duckiesv

    good info thanks

  • @leakycauldron1 oh yeah, spirit caravan and saint vitus reunited this year, saint vitus is going to release a new album when the get a record label!

  • @MushroomP1llowz srry man this doesnt come close to the ozzmeister

  • @MushroomP1llowz you know shit about sabbath kid.

  • @MushroomP1llowz No one, even God and Satan are united, can be better than TONY IOMMI.

  • @MushroomP1llowz - You are probably young so you are excused for your ridiculous talk that these guys are "way better". Their guitarist couldn't sniff Tony Iommi's talent let alone touch it.

  • @MushroomP1llowz more like similar as Brain Police

  • @MushroomP1llowz retard nothings better than sabbath

  • @MushroomP1llowz

    better than black sabbath ?

no way..ozzy's vocals sound more evil and

tony iommis guitar skills are far more

    complex and original..

  • @MushroomP1llowz

    better than black sabbath?

    i think not, good sir.

  • @M45T3R84T10N Wino is a a Heavy Metal god, but Black Sabbath are the Heavy Metal titans.

  • @PisauraXTX You do know that the Gods beated the Titans, right?

  • @daywedie Oh crap, I didn't think about that Oo

  • @M45T3R84T10N : Not better, but an awesome interpretation...

  • @M45T3R84T10N righhhhttt !!!!!!!!

  • Cool effect with the colors, this seems like a great great band, I havent heard it before

  • I love this song, I love this album, and I love this band. Thnx for the post. This is the first Spirit Caravan song I heard, and I have heard almost every song since. I have also gotten into The Obsessed and The Hidden Hand because of Spirit Caravan. Thnx again for the post!

  • Not Going Away is from '07. And this is from '99, if am right. Ozzy knows who is he copying ;>

  • this is from '99?

    I don't think so

  • Actually, this song IS from '99. Sorry if it seems like I'm following your comments. I gotta ask though, what was it like talking to Wino, and what was it like seeing Spirit Caravan live?

  • It was RELEASED in 1999. But the songs had been written/recorded LONG before that. It just took him a while to find a label, since Man's Ruin had just gone out of business.

Wino's the best, man. 100% Pure Heart.

Spirit Caravan are one of the top3 Rock live bands I've ever seen, the other two being KYUSS & FUDGE TUNNEL.

That would be my dream tour

  • I was talking about the release date. I figured most, if not all, of the songs were already written before the album was recorded.

Sounds like he is probably one of the koolest guys around. He seems to write his songs with 100% too. He always writes a great song.

I bet SC was one of the best bands to see live. I need to listen to Kyuss and Fudge Tunnel. I have been telling myself to listen to them, but I always forget. I will sit down today and do some serious listening.

  • Dude, Spirit Caravan, Oh My God.

Best live Rock band I have EVER seen.

So much heart. I've seen the Hidden Hand live also, and I saw the ViTUS Reunion with Wino, and NOTHING will compare to seeing Spirit Caravan.

You could shed a tear at how much heart SC puts into their set.

  • Now you make me wish I could have seen them.

Did you ever see The Obsessed live? That would have probably been as kool as seeing SC.

I bet I probably could if I would have seen them. Think there is any way that Wino, Dave, and Gary could ever work out there differences and maybe record or play live again?

Just a quick note, have you heard any new news about the Shrinebuilder project? I have been really looking forward to it, but I haven't heard anything new, just that Chris dropped out.

  • Dude, I've never seen the Obsessed live but I have a VHS of one of the last shows they did with the LEGENDARY 'Lunar Womb' lineup, with Scott Reeder before he left for KYUSS.

To me, 'Lunar Womb' was Wino's peak, even though the SC Material is some of my favorite of all-time, 'Lunar Womb' was and is still Wino's Untouchable Magnum Opus.

Haven't heard anything on SHRINEBUILDER. In the meantime, I'm jamming that new COLOUR HAZE & new MELVINS

  • How many times have you watched that video? Where did you get the video?

Lunar Womb was a great album, the title song especially, though the whole album is amazing. Just talking about it makes me want to listen to it! Did you talk with Wino about his Obsessed work? I bet he would say that it was probably his personal favorite work during that time. I liked Reeder singing in 'Back To Zero'.

Dude, were you gonna pick up Wino's solo album? If I can find it, I'm totally going to.

  • Scott also sang on 'Bardo', if I'm not mistaken.

Wino said that 'Lunar Womb' was his favorite thing he's done. That lineup was unstoppable.

  • He did sing on Bardo too, but I thought he just did a better job on Back To Zero, though he was good on Bardo.

Lunar Womb is probably his best work impo, and that lineup was unstoppable.

Impo, I think that SC's Jug Fulla Sun came close to matching Lunar Womb. Not really close, just close.

  • Nah, Reeder's best work was on the Unida album. He just snapped too hard on that album

  • Wow. Mix one of the bluesier songs from the first Sabbath record with something from Master Of Reality and add a shitload of top shelf hashish. Greatness ensues.

Cannot get this out of my head.

  • My favorite Spirit Caravan tune. Thanx brah!

  • Black Sabbath gave birth to alot of baby bands....ALOOOT OF Em' lol

  • got a point there ....

  • not really all doommetal sounds like ozzy and sabbath somehow. especially count raven

  • They kick ass!

  • Damn...I need to listen to more Spirit Caravan...

  • Great Song Spirit Caravan Rocks
