  • not so..... correct, i mean im a sempi and i didnt learn that way.

  • respect

  • I love this is so great

  • Are those blocks useful in a fight? I never took karate, but i don't see those blocks being used in sparring.

  • @arnoldhwang a bit of a late response, obviously, but the blocks aren't "wound up" for sparring, they come out of your fighting stance...this practice is just to learn how to develop power. You have to keep a decent distance so people "enter" into you and telegraph their movements...it would be almost impossible to use standing 1 foot away the whole time. There's a lot to blocking, but I have fought fighters that were very good at it in real sparring.

  • absolutely useless in real life. study boxing instead.

  • its really hard to convey good kime on video, but it helps to take the video just after a team workout so you can show it and more connection with your upper and lower body.

  • u need to be more exact.. you dont do it right exept ougul maki you doing fine..

  • very smooth and solid nice job.

  • perfect form and power.

  • oh mayn !!!!!!! what if some one is standing in front of these bazookaz.....

  • wow. now thats accurate.

  • these blocks are: age-uki,soto-uki,uchi-uki,

    gedan barai,

i know all of them because i am orange belt(8th kiu)lol

  • i rly never liked the 2nd block even in the doju i did'nt find it effective it's takes time to get done but the gr8 advantge of it is that u can block a bigger guy punch with it because it's actuly not a block it's more like pushing the punch away from ur body however the first one "ag-uke" it gr8 :D

    gr8 video

  • The basic idea of all blocks is PUSHING the attacks away, not intercepting them.

  • wow i sure wouldnt like to be on the other end of that....

  • thats the first blocks and counterattacks u learn in shotokan karate between white and yellow belt, effective and strong specialy the first one to block head punchs and punch back

  • i am 12 and shotukan was the firast kareta i learend i still remember the words ich ne sum she go ruk sich huch buch keyo cheyo u had 2 shout out cheyo

  • i love doing combinations when moving :D

  • Nice technique!

    Stan

  • HOW to incorporate these into an actual scenario might be a little more helpful!

  • EmbodiedDespair: That's why you find a Dojo and pay to learn there.
