I was at this game aged 17. I was up at the top of our end, and didn't actually see him take the shot, but I did see the net rustling, and to this day I've never heard a sound like it. Great, great memories, I never get tired of seeing this
Best moment of my life. 9 years old at the time, and because of him he was and still is my childhood hero!
Most important goal in City's modern history, if it wasn't for that, we wouldn't have escaped the football league when OnDigital went bust and left club's in masses of debt.
A close 2nd has to be Yaya's goal to end our 35 year wait though :)
Some of the guys on our row left early. One of the guys who left got back in. He said he heard a cheer when he got out of the stadium and thought it was Gillingham cheering for final whistle, but cops on Wembley Way told him it was a City goal. He got further down Wembley way and heard another cheer, again, thinks its final whistle, but cops say no, another city goal. He ran back up Wembley way and managed to get back in lol
I'm a bit too young to remember this but my Dad say's it's one of the best moments in his entire life, and every time I watch it, I get a buzz in my stomach. CTID
I was at Oldham today (yes im an Oldham fan, try not to laugh) and witnessed his last ever (probably) game. Got a pretty huge cheer when he came on for the last 20 minutes., even when he was warming up there was a resounding chorus of theres only one paul dickov.
Im guessing the crowd at that game were just a tad louder than the 4000 fans at oldham were though lol
Hope he stays with us next season, even though its not been the best season weve ever had this time.
Not a city fan but I just love this goal and this comeback so much! ANY FOOTBALL FAN SHOULD LOVE THIS MATCH REGARDLESS OF WHO THEY SUPPORT. City were beaten but came back from the dead. Great inspiration as to why you should NEVER give up in any area of life! Cheers Dickov, you're an inspiration.
Best day of my life EVER, including the birth of my children.
Most important goal in the history of City EVER - fook knows where we would be now if Paul Dickov hadn't stuck that goal away in the 94th minute, Wembley, Sunday 30th May, 1999.
I almost shed a tear seeing this again after all this time. I remember watching as a 9 year old kid, on the brink of tears when Gillingham went 2-0 up, when Kevin Horlock scored, i knew something magic would happen, then when Dickov scored i went nuts.
This is one of the most special moments in any City fans memory, regardless of it being us in the second division
he literately saved the clubs existence with that goal. legend!
